As to OP's question, yes it is. The PS2 came out 23 years ago in the year 2000. When the PS2 came out, everyone considered the Atari 2600 and the Apple II to be old or retro by that point. The Atari 2600 and the Apple II came out in 1977 which is, you guessed it, 23 years before the PS2 released.

Thank you! I feel like such an annoying nerd for doing this but it has to be said, SotN (and Rondo, for that matter) is Toru Hagihara's brainchild, Igarashi was just some programmer kid who took over as director halfway through, when the planning and a lot of the hard work had already been done, and he was lucky that it turned out as one of the greatest games of all time.
In fact, this idiotic revisionism that popped up in the last 6 or so years that claims Igarashi was almost solely responsible for SotN (which even spawned the eye-rolling moniker "Igavania") is one of the greatest injustices in gaming!
So, fuck Igarashi for not only encouraging but actively creating this myth when the ones involved in the game can't even defend themselves, it's gotten so bad people are starting to believe he created the whole franchise, guess erasing Hagihara's involvement wasn't enough, now Hitoshi Akamatsu won't get any of the little credit he got either...
