I guess my Übersreik murder mystery campaign progresses somewhat, even though it's hastily put together and at some point it might all fall apart.
Highlights of the last session include the thief character alarming the person he's tailing, which then calls him a thief, except he actually didn't want to steal anything. The thief character then tried the same, but failed his roll. Some brave citizens came around and managed to subdue him. Next session our soldier character has to explain to the captain why the guy that he swore would do nothing illegal got caught stealing.

>> No.77649171

Chaos Warriors are your brick, the fact that they can grind pretty much any other infantry (and most monsters/cav for that matter) in the game to dust is just icing on the cake. If your enemy wants to throw his beatstick at them or use his artillery on them, then they are still doing their job, since that means that your actual offensive units are not being targeted or dealt with.

They dont need protecting because there are very few things in the game that can prey on them effectively, and the things that CAN are not going to care that you have some warhounds or marauder horse nearby.

If someone wants to learn the rules or start out in a less monetarily demanding fashion thats obviously fine, but dont try to pretend corner cutting is acceptable long term. I have a problem with this paragraph about Long Drong's Slayer Pirates.
(Having thus sworn, Long Drong trekked inland to his destiny, which was to become the most notorious pirate ever to lurk the Sartosa. His first act was to storm the stronghold of the dreaded pirate Capitano Sisicco and capture his ships and treasure stash. With the latter, Long Drong hired Dwarf craftsmen to rebuild the flimsy vessel into something a Dwarf could be proud of, not sparing the iron! He also hired Dwarf smiths to forge cannons on the vessel, which Long Drong named "The Far Fregar" after a famous Dwarf maiden of Barak Varr, rumored to be extremely beautiful. A figurehead representing her was carved by the crew. Unfortunately, neither Long Drong nor any of his crew had ever seen a real life Dwarf maiden, so they had to rely on their imagination and hearsay. The result, part of which was shod in brass, made an awesome battering ram for the ship.) They never seen a female dwarf planet they have sisters among most of them or at least a mother?

It’s a fun easy little project that requires no more than 9 to 12 models, sometimes less. It’s also fun to include one large model like say an ogre, troll, or giant spider!
Fingers crossed bud! :-)

How many are there?

I'm currently doing something similar, painting a bunch of miniatures I have bought used years ago and never touched.

I'm taking a different approach, picking 2-5 at random, stripping them and painting them entirely.

Do you find it better by doing all the archers first, then all the swordsmen etc?

How do you avoid burn out?

I truly respect your dedication.

A lot. 105 to be exact.

Im picking up two main colors (eg. Red and yellow) and making few different patterns for coats and the switching colors.

Havent reached the burnout phase yet. My idea is to make all the same stuff first (skin, belts, helmets etc.) and then I can just pick up few bowmen and try different things on their coats when ever I feel like it.

I got some mem-at-arms but Im not too sure if I want to keep them more uniform looking or go with the same rout as bowmen.

Still need to figure out how to base them,im creating an army of Bretonnia mixed with araby allies.

We actually do know what happens to the magical Bretonnian shotas besides probable /ss/, thanks to some fluff regarding Louen’s youth. They become Magic Knights that the Lady can teleport across Bretonnia through pretty much any body of water, to smite whatever bullshit needs smiting. I would imagine they constitute her personal guard as well.
They might still get /ss/‘d by Asrai during their training, but at least some of them are spared the fate of a permashota. Their advantage over other units came mostly because they were better equipped and in good physical condition - because they were mentioned petty nobles, they were bigger and stronger than your average citizen. Or to be more precise, they were not malnourished at some point in their early life.
