Only for them to realize he's way more fuckable than they estimated and for him to get pussy stacked on him while they realize that the reverse isn't true.
Watching them try to justify themselves with
>B-bu-but I thought he'd be at home playing X-box or something, I didn't realize he'd actually hold me up to the 'Go out and have sex with other people' thing!

Every single model of relationship has "been proven repeatedly to fail", you absolute clown.
Most adults on this planet has been in at least one relationship that eventually failed or just ended, or are locked in an unhealty and unhappy one.
Also don't post your arbitrary assumptions on biology and anthropology as if they had any form of basis. Lastly, "nature didn't intend" isn't a great argument when concerning the behaviour of a species that's gone to space, built a worldwide communication network, and fucked up the planet they live in; I'm pretty sure early hominids didn't play tabletop games either, and look where we are now.

It's rare, but not quite that rare. The trouble for data sampling is that functional polyamorous couples aren't widely advertising that fact, nor are they complaining about it. Generally, if one of the members of the relationship is advertising that they're poly, it's a good sign that it's going to fall apart in relatively short order because they're shopping around.
The (again, fairly rare) functional poly relationships I've seen have been much more about handling the situation of growing close to shared friends and developing a sexual attraction to them. Not about going out to sleep around.

I mean, we have actual evidence that isn't true.

Traditionally marriage was just a convenient way to handle property; women were traded for goods, a marriage ensured any children they produced were legally recognized and could be traded for goods in the future.

People have fucked up relationships since forever but previously the societal structure prevented women from leaving so they just cucked you and didn't tell you. The fact that your son looks exactly like Lord Bigdick is a coincidence.

Some people opt for that kind of relationship to include people they already know, not to range afield and seek something new. It's a smaller, quieter model, and the one that actually functions because it's based on specific inclusion rather than carte blanche.

It is GATE.
It's an example of something with a foot in two camps and not really satisfiying either imo.
It's military fan-wank is really fun and enjoyable, but it drops off to background irrelevence unless they need a sudden deus-ex-machina in the form of an airstrike
On the other hand, it's an isekai that doesn't really spend enough time developing the characters and making the MC seem special. He just seems to have good luck or whip out some ranger training when shit needs to be explained.

As always, I'd recommend giving it the three episode rule and seeing after that if you want to continue it. It's not all bad, but it's not all there either.

>black men were allowed to vote before any woman in the United States. Women were property.
The bar for voting rights in the UK and the US was land ownership and national service. There were female land owners who got to vote. Then every man got the vote in exchange for being drafted into war. And then women got the vote with no requirement for the draft.

>The bar for voting rights in the UK and the US was land ownership and national service.
It was 40 acres and being a man in the United States. Literally you had to have a penis. Then the 40 acres part was determined to be a poll tax, rendering it unconstitutional. In the UK you originally only had the vote if you were wealthy enough to purchase it. Women could not purchase the vote, but they could vote on behalf of their sons. No, it's just bait. If you play the actual game, you understand that both he and his fucked up girlfriend are horribly unstable and, if left to their own devices, will implode. You can interact with their storyline in various different ways. You can force the relationship to function and get them to get over themselves, you can cuck the half-orc into killing himself, or you can turn it into a polygamous triangle relationship if you really want to.

But people are happy to post that single dialogue box without the context. Reality is that it is dealt with in a fairly nuanced fashion, and the game doesn't go out of it's way to make you feel bad and accuse you, the player, of being Hitler even if you ruin their lives by taking the 'evil' options. I don't think it even impacts your alignment all that much, IIRC.

Yes, because you're sure to find another game where you can cram the noble who's aim in life was to aid the deposed princess regain the throne, and took up the specific homebrewed blood magic system to do so.

It totally would be easy to reuse that specific character concept in any old setting by making them generic shit without any setting specific ties and it absolutely makes sense to apply to half a dozen GURPS, Eclipse Phase and Shadowrun games on roll20 to see if you can fit that character in.

>> No.73979870

>>73979784
Exactly.
Except instead of making them generic you give them reasonable human aspirations, and make them an actual realistic person with their own personality which extends beyond saving one specific princess. Or alternatively if they are so bloody special that their only goal in life is to save one specific princess, you include that in your eclipse phase thing except you make the princess a hyperelite, who was captured by jovians or something.
It's really not sorcery to adapt characters that actually feel like real people into any setting you want, because real people could exist in whatever environment you give them.
Even if you have a character whose purpose seems to conflict with the setting like the tribal kid who only knows herbalism, you can fit that into eclipse phase for example, by saying he had his mind wiped and grew up in some abandoned habitat overgrown by plants along with other mind-wiped people. Or to a modern setting by making him part of a sect or a commune.
You just gotta persevere anon. Do it for the character that would otherwise never have existed.

The reinstatement of royalty doesn't have to be taken literally anon, but it also doesn't have to become something entirely different. It could just be someone who was in control of their habitat/hypercorp and the character wants them back.

Again, an actually good character will be the sort who can be transferred to any given situation that's somewhat similar, because that's what humans are like.
And if you make characters you should be making them to be realistic humans/sapients instead of just some carboard cutout whose existence is defined by a single plothook.

If you have that sort of character then you will actually want to help them come to life.

The campaign that I was talking about was in fact set up with the premise "you're helping the princess regain her throne". There was a lot more going on with that character that I didn't mention for brevity.

If you haven't given your character a tie into the setting for the GM to use, are you even trying? If you can rip your character from their campaign setting and throw them anywhere without it affecting your character in the slightest, it means your character is wholly generic, or it's going to horribly clash with the campaign world.

or the campaign world is utterly generic, that could also be the case!
