The Custodes is extreme but there's a clear thread of logic.
He orders them to allow themselves to be taken into custody.
The Marines refuse as they dindu nuffin, which is quite reasonable.
Yet they are still disobeying a direct order, which to the mind of the Shield-Captain, shows that they aren't loyal.
If they had surrendered as he asked they may not have wound up dead.
Consider it a test they failed.

Well, there's your first problem. The second is that the depth of the setting is built on side stories more than 'black crusade X!'. Aliens are a big part of that.

And the third problem, the biggest by leaps and bounds, is that this is a fucking wargame and company that makes models. Visual and gameplay variety are incredibly healthy for the game, even if [new xenos] faction is only a blip on the radar compared to marines. Yes, except they don’t write it that way.

Chaos eldar are hyper niche and almost never mentioned.

Orks are nearly immune to corruption through their psychic gestalt.

The Tyranids are a single vast mind made of quintillions of synapse nodes, and thus an entity on par with the warp gods itself and immune to their whispers.

Necrons are soulless robots.

Tau are also borderline soulless and obey their masters unthinkingly.

The only serious link chaos has to a non-human race is slaanesh and the eldar, and that doesn’t take the form of corruption and in-race bickering to anything like the same extent.

Nids can also create anti-warp, so that's another NO NO factor. That said one of the hive-fleets have shown to become infected with chaos corruption, but due to the hive-mind; it was able to cast-off and destroy corrupted parts.

Necrons do get corrupted on occasion too, but obviously rare and not very desirable prospect for daemons.

Tau none-the-less have plenty of examples of being corrupted and possessed, they are just lucky to not be interacting with Chaos often enough. The lacking psyker awakening among their race is somewhat of a separate issue, but it's possible that they might one similar to humans if they survive that long.

Also keep in mind there are many unmentioned, non-playable, xenos who all worship Chaos too.

No, they are not immune. You fucking degenerate. Chaos Orks have always been canon and in recent books we got some Chaos Orks.

Also Prophecy of the Wolf was something the Chaos Gods attempted to stop. Ghaz is on the shitlist of the Chaos Gods.

The Hivemind sees Chaos as a rival predator and is directing its efforts to finding a solution against it.

That get fucked with regularly by Chaos since they maintain the Waarding technologies that keep them out.

The motivations of the Necrons in 8th ED has been solely to banish Chaos from the galaxy

Also consider that form most of the settings history chaos marines held no realspace territory and had to regularly hide in warp holes to not get wiped out because they were ultimately a million rebels against an entire galaxy spanning empire.

Separate issue, but also rare.
Generally they feel off to other orks and get killed and exterminated, along with their spores, quickly. The few who survive tend to hide out in space ships or as outcasts on ork planets. Imperium records show that GSC orks are scary when on ships because they have superior ork bodies with intelligence of a nid, being able to sneak around quietly and attack with great precision.
They are sometimes used as freebooter mercenaries by some Ork Warlords of low kunning, too.

That said, there is ONE story of GSC winning out completely against the orks. Despite all infected orks being killed, their spores still managed to spread until the whole planet was infected. All of this lead to nids coming in and devouring what was left of the planet.

Because GW allows everything and everyone to write because ultimately the y have the control.. The whole "everything is canon and not canon" doesn' tmean what people think it is. It just means that GW will see all the sources about a certain lore topic and then pick the best path foward in terms of IP appeal, internal logic, and consistency.

ADB have said in numerous times that he got told no that's not canon by the IP guys. When aske how it's not canon when the fanbase thinks , they said that the fanbase are wrong and will be corrected in time.

Bro most armies cost like 200-300 at a baseline level and there's people still using their shit from 20 years ago, compare that to magic where you need to buy a new deck every year. In addition to >>72117558 you can also learn tricks like bluestuff recasting and conversions to save dollars and make your army unique

Also the tier list in 40k is volatile so being a metafag is retarded if unless you're loaded, grey knights were trash bin tier a year ago and are now super solid

And you know who ALWAYS get's their say every fucking time? The IP managers and lroemasters. Therefore it's reasonable to say that ADB and writers in general have ZERO power when GW says no.

That last one I'm poorly wording because of how fuzzy a debate it's evolved into, but basically there's an argument whether Chaos is really fleshed out through and with the other races.

It's a veritable dogpile in a trainwreck in a shitstorm, fitting really.

The slaves and navigators are not the parts 'm talking about not being correct.
5 days to 17 months, losing 80% of your crew and coming out in the wrong solar system are all extreme worst case scenarios. If warp travel were that bad on a good day then nobody would ever do it, and certainly nobody would celebrate it as a successful warp translation.

Yet asked them to stand down. Perhaps a couple could've survived the Ordo Astartes. It's the Marines' fault for chimping out. Probably could've gotten off with a penitent crusade.
