SoB command squads new hotness. The new force org is fine with that in mind because they're a solid elites choice, however, trading ObSec troops for rerolling 1s on saves once or game is not worth it at all.

Still, can't wait to try out some command squad goodness. Flamer plas was already doing well for me, but the option of more is fantastic.

I thought about Alpha, but I like NL. T1 Night fighting means I get 3+ jink on the Claws, and the Raptor Talon doesn't net anything useful as a core because they're in reserve on T1 and can reroll charges when they DS because they didn't use their packs in the movement phase. Plus, the Fist Brute can reroll it's charges out of the pod.

As for the axes, I guess I can drop them for combi-plasma.

malleus inquisitor get termi army still and if i seen it correctly from the leaked pics they can swap out weapons for daemonblades while in termi armor now allowing them two daemonblades for 4 rolls on the powers table. they can guarantee a 5++ and a pretty good shot at FnP and Eternal warrior. Which as we know from the FAQ as long as you have a weapon you get the special rules or bonuses.

Absolute minimum cost is 350. Maybe 450 or so to make it really solid and actually useful. Now you have night fighting and can take...

>Alpha Legion Warband
>Spawn

And you could certainly get that under 1k, especially when you don't need to waste points on 100-pt shitty drop pods.

+2 cover save, +1 from night fighting, you have a 4+ in the open! And since you're infiltrating into ruins, your AL have 2+ cover turn one while they either shoot things or wait to charge.

>>50706901
It's pretty unreliable and/or expensive to get a decent invulnerable save on an Inquisitor, which is important for a CC character potentially facing challenges where your mooks can't guard you as easily.

Eternal Warrior would also be nice for when you're getting shot at, but it is just as unreliable to acquire and isn't as important as an invuln.

Plus, just on principle, why the fuck can the Inquisitor himself not take all the stuff his mooks can? It's just absurd.

The launchers, firmly secured to the deck, reeled the cables back until they went taut, and the first Red Corsairs began to swing over the prow of the Fist, climbing hand over hand as they hung to the cables. Similar assaults were being made from the other galleons.

>Rotaka had just begun to climb when the defenders of Rubicon, clearly taken by surprise by this sudden attack on a remote stretch of the wall, began to counter-attack. Las-fire rained down from above, largely ineffective against the power armour of the Red Corsairs. Rotaka kept climbing as fire was returned from the deck of the galleons, temporarily driving back any resistance that might dislodge the grappling hooks from the top of the wall.

There is no kill team general now, so i guess it's ok to ask here.
What can you say about this as a starting Kill Team (GW 2016 rules)? What it's pro and con, what have I missed?
My plan is - to have a decent number of shooting infantry (10), a vehicle and various types of weapons (4 radium, 4 galvanic, long-ranged arquebus and strong pistol on infiltrator).

Kill Team [200/200]
----------------------
Dragoon [45]
Rangers x5 [65]
. . . Transuranic Arquebus [25]
. . . Alpha: Reflactor Field [5]
Vanguards x5 [55]
. . . Alpha: Phosphor Blast Pistol [5]

Total: 11 models (1 vechicle, 10 non-v)

Leader - Ranger Alpha with Reflactor Field
Weapon Specialist: Ranger with Transuranic Arquebus (Sharpshooter for ignoring cover)
Gurelia Spcialist: Vanguard Alpha with Phosphor Blast Pistol (Infiltrate for "surprise" distraction)

In spite of /tg/'s insistence that I should not play Orks until their codex gets fixed, I bought a bunch of Orks this week. I mentioned during the last thread that playing Orks had actually been fun, but was informed that the more I played Orks the less fun it would be.

Having now played a number of additional games this evening, I think that while Orks do tend to underperform notably in standard 1500 point games, they seem to do just fine at lower point cost matches. Won 2/3 of the rapid-fire 500 point games that get played all the time in the back of the store, but I'll continue to test this theory.

Similar assaults were being made from the other galleons.

>Rotaka had just begun to climb when the defenders of Rubicon, clearly taken by surprise by this sudden attack on a remote stretch of the wall, began to counter-attack. Las-fire rained down from above, largely ineffective against the power armour of the Red Corsairs' 3+ saving throw. Rotaka kept climbing as fire was returned from the deck of the galleons by Chaos Space Marine Havocs, temporarily driving back any resistance that might dislodge the grappling hooks from the top of the wall.

But they do.

All the best Tau players love cover because they can shoot and the move behind it so they can't be shot back, it's the same with Eldar.

Tau and Imperium have tons of way to make it so they can fire at thing out of line of sight, only Orks and other crappy armies suffer from having cover on the board.

Banner is useless, give them FnP girl.
You never want your girls in melee even if they have the numbers and have a priest.

Unless you are facing orks or other "melee" race with low saves and are bringing things like green tides.

By pure math hammer is better to have the HQ near the Exorcist. So you can force S8 AP1 wounds on something you want dead.

Other than that not my style but it can work

The core is
2x Battle Sister Squad HF, F and Combi flamer + Immolator with TW-MM
2x Dominion squad with 4x Meltaguns and a combi Melta + Immolator with TW-MM

If you can fit 3 Exorcist do it.

HQ should be cheap unless you where running Seraphim in the magic 8 number. 2x hand flamer and veteran superio with celestin. Since she is gone no need for magic number or the veteran

The 8 and veteran where there for deep striker smaller foot print and prevent random insta kill due to challenge.

20 girl gun line can work but it really works if you tailor it against one particular opponent.

SoB units work like guided missile, target something hope to destroy it. If some how then they survive any longer and did their mission it was value

Alright, I fixed it. It was interesting - there is another document that defines where and how those split fragments were supposed to come together. EFR ignored that and threw the fragments at the bottom, as seen in >>50708923.

For your sake, I acquired Readium to make sure it would work for you. Readium apparently reads that document, hence why it wouldn't load as the fragments no longer exist - yet Readium also completely ignored the fragments in the old one entirely.

You may notice in this new version that quite a few sections are bulked out compared to the old now, starting with the introduction and onward. Every single "part000X_split_00X" from >>50708923 was not included in what you were reading before. You'll even get the full armory now.

2. Each legion has a unique formationt, which grants more bonuses to everyone in it's detachment. The usual requirement is the vanilla Warband formation as a core and an auxiliary choice. So the wolves basically had to use Khorne's power to shatter the barrier, because every part of that axe WAS imperial, except the power of khorne in the axe.

So yes, Logan had to wield the power of Khorne to defeat Magnus, Khorne himself laughed at the irony that he was needed to defeat magnus.

In the same breath, the Grey Knights should've confiscated the weapon and sterilized the shit out of Logan for using a demon weapon. Entire chapters have been purged for such nonsense.

>>50708799
The gauntlets of Ultramare were just powerfists wielded by a World Eater preator in the Heresy that Gullyboat decided to keep. They weren't demon weapons nor demonically powered, so the technology was saved and reforged. That was heresy era, the demon weapons hadn't become a real thing yet among the legions.

The axe Logan took IS a demon weapon though, bound with the power of the warp. HUGE difference.

Hi guys, Im an old World Eater player, I started with them with the 3.5 book and played through early 6th edition, when I simply had to take a break from the game.

The next chaos book came out and I heard it was as bland as the 5th edition book so I stayed away, but apparently both Kharn and the World Eaters just got a supplement and buffs.

So I read it and it felt like the update my old 3.5 marines were waiting for. But I'm still getting a feel to army construction.

I need a lord, but I have my Demon prince so I'm fine there.

Then I need a compulsory formation, the Maelstrom of Gore or the Warband.

Which is the better foundation. 20 Berzerkers and Kharn doesn't seem that viable just running across the field, especially because the chain axe just isn't that good for the points and are expensive. I've almost always needed land raiders to push them along, but that would eat the entire army points wise.

Is the Chaos Warband better then the Maelstrom? Also which of the auxiliary formations seem viable. A lot of them require a bunch to get off the ground. The Terminator Annihilation force seems interesting though.

Can you guys help an old Khorne player out. I'm not that interested in demons really, I kind of want to play a marine army, maybe with a Demon Prince or Blood thirster because the models are new and look fun to build, but only for higher points values, I'm looking at 1500 to start.

The legion rules look great for summoning.

The problem is that they don't do anything for your regular guys unless you take a Dark Apostle, he's basically a tax on the Fearless+Hatred when other legions get one or the other for free. Even just having Crusader stock and getting another benefit from the decurion, would have been great.

The HH books are WAY underpowered compared to the shit that exists in 40k.

I play Pre Heresy World eaters and have a hard time facing 40k armies as is. Even taking primarchs doesn't really even the odds, especially against necrons and eldar.

With Psychic powers being abused at their all time high HH armies suffer even more with more limited access to psychers and very limited powers.

I would not be able to understand anyone banning a pre heresy army when the rule book clearly says its fine for 40k, maybe some people still believe the FW is broken myth?

Chaos powers do not work without the power of the god flowing through them.

Stop being a shitter and trying to headcannon your way around shitty writing.

Logan used a demon weapon, taking advantage of Khorne's power through the blade in a way he found acceptable and encouraged. You cant "steal" the powers of chaos.

Since 2nd edition the axe had always been treated as having the Khorne powers sealed away, just using it as a frost axe after reforging it. This is the FIRST time its ever actually used its demon powers in any manner, as the proximity of Magnus activated it, drawing Khorne's attention and channeling its power to break the barrier. A Defiler becomed a character with a 4++ if it's the alpha of a Helforged Warpack. You run it as Word Bearers and make it your Warlord. Rolling on the Word Bearers trait chart, you aim for the one that makes your Warlord a Psyker. Boom, Psychic Warlord Defiler.

In 7th edition, any model with the (Character) subtype can be your army's Warlord.

Traitor's Hate added a Formation called the Helforged Warpack. This includes a Warpsmith and 3-5 Helbrutes/Maulerfiends/Forgefiends/Defilers. One of the bonuses is that one of the Walkers is called the Warpack Alpha. It gets a 4+ Invulnerable Save, and the (Character) subtype.

Word Bearers have a Warlord table, where one of the results gives your Warlord an extra Mastery Level (or becomes a ML1 Psyker if your Warlord previously wasn't), with Daemonology (Malefic).

Hence Warlord Summoner Defiler can be a thing with a lucky roll (or re-roll as it may be).

What's the coolest thing your models have done recently, /40kg/?

Kill Team 2v2, my Skitarii and some Guard vs. Orks.

Allies Chimera destroyed, he replaces it with this cool wrecked one he likes, with the top missing, a hole in the side and cab driven in.

Every Guardsman on that side of the board dies.
Two of my Skitarii Rangers hide in the Chimera wreck, my Alpha hides behind it.

Those three proceed to hold off about 250 pts of Orks, killing about 15 and even glancing a Trukk to death with lucky rolls.
Alpha charged by the PK Nob and owns him with his Taser Goad.
I know that they were only Orks, but still pretty damn good for three Skitarii.

Its that freaking simple.

Lies.

The axe always was said to radiate with the power of the Warp/Khorne.

And the C'tan and Chaos God are in no different in that there are shards of them around. C'tan Shard are pieces of the C'tan locked inside Necrodermis. Daemons are shards of the Chaos Gods and in this case this daemon is locked inside a reforged axe bearing the Rune of Morkai. Daemons can function independently without having the Chao Gods around to empower them 24/7 (see Slaanesh missing in AoS).

Stop trying to find something that isn't there.

The legion bonuses are basically split into two parts. There are detachment benefits for each legion that you gain just by saying "this is a XX legion detachment" and following whatever restrictions it comes with. These are the Chaos Chapter Tactics. A lot of them come with Force Organization alterations that only work in a CAD/AD.

Then, each Legion also gets a FBD specific to their legion. Some of these play off of the legion detachment bonuses (like the Death Guard rerolling 1's for FNP).

So, for a basic Iron Warriors army, you can play Iron Warriors in a CAD, Iron Warriors in a Black Crusade Detachment, or Iron Warriors in an Iron Warriors Grand Company Detachment.

>>The axe always was said to radiate with the power of the Warp/Khorne.
So your admitting its power has always come from Khorne then! It literally cannot function without that connection, so it could never radiate that power. It why when the Grey Knights fully disconnect a demon from the warp through the maze device it immediately loses all power and becomes pretty much nothing until exposed to the warp again.

>And the C'tan and Chaos God are in no different in that there are shards of them around.
>Comparing the two ENTIRELY different things and pretending they are the same.

Hooooo boy your dumb, they literally function the opposite of each other. The Ctan shards are shards of physical beings that were literally broken into pieces by science.

Chaos doesn't work that way. Demons are aspects of their Gods or the undivided mesh of them all ALL the time. They don't just break off, they never just "stop" being part of the collective whole. That's why they need access to the warp and it maintained to keep form outside of it. They are not bound to any limitations like "becoming a shard".

>Daemons can function independently without having the Chao Gods around to empower them 24/7 (see Slaanesh missing in AoS)

This is the part where your actually stupid. They ALWAYS need their God to feed them to exist. Its why the connection to the warp needs to be maintained to chaos.

>Daemons can function independently
Fucking no, EVERY demon is an actual part of the god. A bloodthirster is openly connected to khorne at all times, feeding off of his power to exist. Without Khorne they wouldn't exist. Even Scarbrand, the bloodthirster that attacked khorne is described as still part of Khorne never the less, serving his purpose.

The entire POINT of slannesh demons still existing in AoS is to point out that Slannesh is still alive, because its connection to them is still sustaining them, they just don't know where it is. C'tan, like daemons, are etheric energy beings.

>hey don't just break off, they never just "stop" being part of the collective whole.

They can be. That's why we got rogue warp beings and rogue daemon princes who became their own powers in the Warp.

>They ALWAYS need their God to feed them to exist.

They do not. What you are confusing is their need to maintain their warp connection to maintain their forms in reality. God or not, the daemon will continue to exist. For example, Slaanesh daemons existed before Slaanesh was born.

> A bloodthirster is openly connected to khorne at all times, feeding off of his power to exist.

It's shard of that power. It can act interdependently without him feeding it anything. In AoS, Slaanesh is nowhere to be seen and yet xir daemons are doing alright.
