There's no upper size limit technically speaking. They're biologically immortal and the only real deterrents are the shell size. When they grow too big they have to molt out of their constrictive shell which takes a lot of energy to do and to regrow. The bigger they get they heavier the shell is and the harder it is for them to molt until its physically impossible and they crush themselves. The reason for impossibility is either the shells own strength due to thickness or the mass of their own bodies being too great for their own muscles to effectively move. Most die of sickness or predation before this happens though.
>>48600303
We are. The issue is the shit we find isn't directly applicable to us and only shows one way of a myriad ways for us to become biologically immortal. Funfact: hydra's form of immortality is technically more viable in applicability to us than lobsters form is.
Someone even gave themselves a self created gene therapy aimed at reversing age. It's too early to tell yet since it was only last year she applied it but claims to already be feeling more energetic.

I remember that near the end of the first season, Shokugeki no Soma had a picture of Napoleon crossing the Alps, except instead of riding a white steed he was riding a lobster (I think it had something to do with lobster being sauté'd in Napoleon brand cognac). It'd be nice if someone could post that.
