wholly depends on how Terra looked at that time. Assuming Growth trends persist from today till the 30th millennium, total pop would be anywhere in the 10 to 200bn people.
Now assuming that parts of the world are screwed to the point its unhabitable, means that that number needs to be housed on a significantly reduced area.
Hence, assuming that Britain is turned into a massive sized Hong kong, it would house 18BN people, which to me, seems like there would be enough material to get yourself sufficient recruits from.

Of course, the FW books would, you fool. The FW books are written as in-verse tomes by an in-verse scholar whose name initials are AK, according Laurie Goulding.

This means that behind the doors stuff like the Cabal and Omegon's existence would not be written down in the stuff written by that person.

Gahlan Surlak

Kharn the Bloody [Legacy of Blood]
Master of the Legion [Beserker Assault]

3x Legion Tactical Squad [19x Legion Tactical Space Marines, Legion Vexilla]
Legion Tactical Sergeant [Artificer Armour, Melta Bombs, Power Weapon]

3xLegion Apothecary

Contemptor-Mortis Dreadnought [Twin-linked Autocannons]

The Red Butchers [4x Butcher Terminator, 4x Second Power Axe]
The Devoured [Chainfist, Power Fist]

Heavy Support

Legion Spartan Assault Tank [Armoured Ceramite, Flare Shield]

In pride/butcher focused armies it makes literally zero difference

In big hordes of dudes armies you could be seeing savings of over 100 pts across three or larger full sized tactical blobs

YMMV on whether 120 pts worth of discount on one of the weaker legions and no delivery method for those tac blobs other then walking across the board into the teeth of your enemies entrenched guns or buy 1000+ pts worth of spartans is "abusive" or "WAAC"

I wouldn't call them OP. I'd say they are a rock-solid Legion and very high in the rankings, but still fall shy of Alpha Legion, Imperial Fists and Raven Guard IMO.

Justaerin are a contender for 'best Legion unit in the game' after their buffs. W2, WS5, Furious Charge and Stubborn for a pittance over the stock Legion. Can be made Troops with Pride and Deep Strike with Reaving.
Reavers are also good but heavily overrated IMO. They are immediately and obviously very cool but generally weaker than Veterans IMO. Jump Packs and Combi-Plasma are their only real selling points.

A subtler advantage of the Legion is their ability to mimic Rites of War or even combine them together. It allows you to string some nasty combos together that no other Legion can pull off.
Like taking Horus and Maloghurst essentially gives you Pride, except with none of the downsides and you still have an open Rite slot. You can take Dreadclaws without Orbital Assault, except now you can choose which units to Pod.
And then you can combine them as mass-podding Justaerin Terminators, who also happen to pick up the Brothers of Iron Rite just because.

Fucking love this Legion.

Limited unit selection, but some nice buffs to certain units.

Cybernetica is bigger, but focused on Robutts and has some spiffy rules for them.

>> No.46593882

I just said the supplement is specifically made because of the BaC units. It was stated clearly in the WD articles about the supplement.

But the BaC kit will not be eternal and there's been rumours that they're already selling out their stocks. Some have hinted that GW will take the sprues and make individual box sets of them, like the tacticals and terminators. If they did make a plastic contemptor kit, I sure would hope they'd make it a proper one and not that BaC one, which is barely above a snap-fit kit. They can throw that into the next BaC style kit that's rumoured to come out later this year.

>> No.46593979

Yes, but if they were going to make a proper kit with more options you would think that they'd include those options in the supplement already. Otherwise they'd need to make a new supplement just to add more options for the contemptor.

I always disliked CSM for various reasons, but 30k made them attractive to me. Not only because of the comparably less edgy models, but also because of the fluff around them.

I mean, its the same in the end, but different enough to get me interested. If I'd play a loyal legion, I'd just play whats around already, only with different armor sets. With the traitors you got both, the traitors and how they were before the fall. Plus, the HH is a pretty good thing, and when you're into the fluff, there are lots of reasons for one person to choose a traitor legion.

>> No.46594058

>Otherwise they'd need to make a new supplement just to add more options for the contemptor.

And people would need to buy that supplement to have those options.

But I did not say the new kit is gonna come out now. I'm just saying that, again, this supplement is for the BaC kits. If in the future they do put out a plastic contemptor, I sure do hope it's not this one with the static body and two gun options. And when they do put it out, they're sure to come out with new rules, maybe even in a codex.
