Mumbad Spoilers in the old thread >>43487192

>> No.43575250

>Explore the more transcendent qualities of life on the Network. The idea of an expanded consciousness runs throughout The Liberated Mind, the fifth Data Pack in the Mumbad Cycle for Android: Netrunner, and you'll find the mysterious Temple of the Liberated Mind given shape, alongside several of its members and their philosophies. Sixty new cards (including a complete playset of nineteen different cards) allow Runners to explore life, death, and rebirth in the virtual realm. Meanwhile, Corps gain new means to counter the Runners' efforts and to use the Runners to further their own agendas.

This game has such great art, I love it.

>> No.43575898

As I said when it was announced , I like that it is giving people incentive to play Link. I'd like to see it more often outside of local meta.

That being said I'm also conflicted about how the ramping up in trace power and Tracer strength is making older ICE look poorer in comparison.

And I'm not just talking about Burke Bugs.

>> No.43575954

a lot of the old ice is also going to rotate out though, so it's kind of moot?

>> No.43576023

For competitive players ? Yes. For everyone else ? A bit more troublesome.

And we still have to deal with a pool up till rotation where older cards are being put in a corner by newer ones.

>> No.43576034

Any of you guys tried Doomtown, I'm thinking of trying it. Would appreciate some input on it.

I'm really liking Netrunner, but it's too "serious" for most of my retard friends who think all card games should be like hearthstone and they don't like the sci fi theme either.
My only friend who loves it wouldn't spend a dime on the game and would rather just play on jinteki.net. Local game shop has like 3-4 other dudes meeting monthly or weekly, but I'm not willingto play catch-up for such a small community as I only have a Core Set and some Data Packs from the first cycle, which will get rotated soon enough and all the guys at the shop have everything up to Data and Destiny and are drooling over the new spoilers. I just don't have that much money on my hands to get like 3 cycles and deluxes.

So I'm kind of going to stick with jinteki.net jank deck fights with my bro.

Doomtown seems like a more casual game, with less expansions and a better suited theme for plebs. More luck too, so they can actually win sometimes with their 0 effort put into the game and it also has 4 player. On paper it seems good for my group.

>> No.43576044

well they weren't getting play before, so is it really an issue? when they were printed, FFG didn't quite have a handle on how trace would work, and how potent traces needed to be.

i love data hound as much as the next person, but it's just not really that great

>> No.43576047

Yeah, a new Binder called "ROTATION" with all the cards cycled out.

>> No.43576085

Trace did kind of need it, but I feel you

Though a lot of non-core early game stuff was conservative design-wise, which is both a good and a bad thing - on the one hand we should see some better cards (there's a lot of things that just don't get played), but on the other they might introduce unnecessary complexities and increasingly high-powered cards, which would suck.

>> No.43576105

>well they weren't getting play before, so is it really an issue?

Could they have made them playable without breaking the balance ?

We already have a fragmented community. It's going to be so great having to deal with its balkanization into nothingness.

>> No.43576125

they released support cards that built up traces or gave you recurring trace credits, along with an ID that supported it. none of that helped. it's better to just create cards that work better by themselves than shoehorn a bunch of also useless support cards

>> No.43576141

also, when rotation happens, there will be less "TONS OF SHIT EVERYONE HAS TO BUY" to play the game, so rotation really makes it easier to buy in, not harder

>> No.43576272

It may make it easier to buy in, but it's also going to fragment the community into people that keep updating and people that don't.

And, here's one thing: you do need to know the card pool well enough to be able to play the game, whether you own it or not, so if you don't keep interested in the newer released cards, you slowly stop playing with those that do.

And even for those that don't care - we have some casual players that upgrade only once in a blue moon, don't keep up with new cards and like to discover them in play - having your card pool being slowly invalidated by newer release means you're less and less likely to play with the updating people.

We haven't even reached rotation, and some people are already planning on stopping updating post D&D. Others are planning to stop once we hit rotation.
This is going to make planning games harder. And past a certain level, some people will just stop bothering.

I'm not fearing some major mass forsaking of the game, I'm fearing small departure after small departure, until all is left is the hard core and competitive players.

>> No.43576347

who is playing the game saying "nah, i think i'm good on the newest cards?"

also, if your group is considering stopping after the update or rotation, then you are fostering a permanent card pool which can help entice casual players. hell, if you all know what you want, you can build decks for other people to play! keeping up with every card is something only competitive players need to do. netrunner is whatever you want it to be

>> No.43576390

See also Advancable Ice.
There are examples of both that work, but most range somewhere between alright, but with their main qualities being mostly unrelated to their trace/advancements , to utterly terrible.

Salvage probably gets the prize for being the worst ice in the game, being both and terrible at both

>> No.43576427

i think Lukas loved his idea of advancable ice and fought for it for his entire time with the game, i'm kinda hoping that we don't see much more of it once damon takes over.

>> No.43576531

>who is playing the game saying "nah, i think i'm good on the newest cards?"

In a group of a bit less than thirty people that's about 4 people right now, about triple that once we hit rotation, if people follow up with their current plan.

>if your group is considering stopping after the update or rotation, then you are fostering a permanent card pool which can help entice casual players

No because, that's the thing, once they decide the local club is too much bother, they'll stay home and play among themselves, or just go for another game. So suddenly we don't have enough of the kind of players that foster welcoming casual play for new players.

I'd say the hardest blow to Advance-able ICE wasn't really the lack of support, but more the runner ecosystem being made so good against them it's made it so there's little sense to play them.

>> No.43576560

I like the idea of advancable ice, but it needs to be properly executed.
For instance, 3 credits and 3 clicks to rez a strength 5 sentry that trashes a program, I think it was a brilliant idea. Same with the rest of them. Morph ICE? They were a bit weak, and expensive, but changing the subtype with a single credit and a click it's really interesting. Constellation Protocol also makes for a beautiful dancing of tokens.

Advanceable ICE that can be only advanced while rezzed and provides no extra benefits? No, thank you.

>> No.43576569

Do we know who's baby advancable was?
I know Caissa was Damon's, for example.

I kinda like it, that you can upgrade your glaciers over time and with less total ice (in theory ) but it's just too slow, and ice trashing is too powerful for it to be worth it - the runners that give you the time to set up will have built fantastic glacier-busting rigs and massive econ, so it's pretty lose-lose

>> No.43576750

Been saying that in a previous thread, but I so much loved the idea of runner hosted program positional play they have going with the caïssa set. That's something that wasn't in the original game and opened some really interesting design space.

Too bad the rest of the card pool has never really build up on that.

>> No.43576861

Yeah, some of the ideas were good, but the execution was lacking - Changeling is nice, but Lycan is dogshit

As for the "advance only while rezzed" ice, while Salvage will always be shit, but when they were aiming for synergy (with AIZ) what they got was crippling over-dependence/cost - a buildable Bastion and a 1 credit Woodcutter both make for okay ice, but order and the need for all the cash up front sucks

>> No.43576903

Lycan really is a case of design being too conservative, I think.

It should have been 4 strength.

I wouldn't go as far as dogshit in its current incarnation though.

Are there FFG sleeves with this artwork yet?

>> No.43576968

Don't want to be a killjoy, but I think you're going to have to make them yourself if you want it to happen.

>> No.43577184

It really was - they seem to have stacked the "necessary costs" of the morph ability, being a sentry and the subroutine to make it far more expensive than it really should be

It's the double whammy of the strength being right on target for both its subtypes' most efficient breakers and that 6 cost.

At strength, or cost, 4 I'd feel it was playable, but as it is it's just got too many flaws - like a lot of Weyland ice, they have a lot of good points, but their weaknesses can be crushing.

That said, I've revised my opinions of Negotiator (which is alleged to have been sadly nerfed in testing) upwards, after I noticed that the cash-to-break thing is not attached to the subroutines - meaning Wormhole can use it fine

>> No.43577214

it sounds like your group just isn't that keen on the game. sucks when it happens, but what can you do?

>> No.43577295

It's a pretty straightforward, I'd posit healthy club group.

The thing, it's hard to accommodate all the various wants of a player-base that has conflicting interests.

And the formating here isn't helping.

I've kinda liked Negotiator as a way to raise the runner spendings on what would otherwise be an unprotected remote in Gagarin, while space ICE does heavy duty on scoring/centrals. It's not great, but it's not as bad as some people would have you think. Especially if it's your only Sentry. Want to to waste a program tutor for that ? Be my guest.

>> No.43577309

i'm still confused on how "rotation" is convincing people to stop playing or buying into new stuff

>> No.43577531
File: 39 KB, 539x960, Bailiff.jpg [View same] [iqdb] [saucenao] [google] [report]

That does sound funny.

I quite like ice that also pulls econ duty - where either way, you win, but it has the classic problem of not working all that often

I have to say, with 5 packs named and the Hardwired spoilers, I'm well and truly hyped for Mumbad.
Lots of cool looking cards, interesting flavour and some nice boosts for criminals - Weyland still pretty meh looking (NBN steal their shit yet again, even worse than HB did) but at least there's still a fair few slots that they'll be getting (at least going by 4 is flatline)
I can only hope pic related is not unique in its effect, but even if it is, it's still fairly good - at the very worst it's parasite bait.

>> No.43577641

Rotation + the formating of the card pool.

There's two issues.
One is the format and its schedule pushing some people into saying "enough" and stop buying. They don't think there's a good enough return on investment. For several reasons, among which a perceived obsolescence.
Which brings us to the other issue, rotation acting as a divider inside the playing community (between those that will and those that won't).

Now combine the two and we have a bigger problem than each taken separately.

But if you're not getting it from my previous posts, I don't really see how I'm going to make it clearer., so you may just want to ignore the discussion. Doesn't impact you anyway.

I voiced my concerns previous thread, but Mumbad is probably the cycle I've been least enthused about thus far from a game-standpoint (the fluff/art is just great and inspiring, mechanically, from what we've seen so far ? some good/cool one-offs, but overall not digging it that much).

>> No.43577673
File: 566 KB, 600x483, Kala Fan 1.png [View same] [iqdb] [saucenao] [google] [report]

TL;DR seems like a hilarious splash in Weyland, for "wait, HOW many subs?" moments.

Of course, as NBN's Chum it'll probably not really work out like that, but funny nevertheless

Still, I'm looking forward to splashing Mumbad Grid with Archer/other really nasty ice and Ice Walls/Vanilla/Bailiff.
It looks a solid card in general - Jinteki will love it - but making the runner hit big ice again and again just seems like fun

i mean, i really don't feel like there's anything "the game" could do to change those perceptions. it just sounds like a group naturally fading away. there's a lot of stuff out there to do, and a lot of other things competing for that time and money. it's the nature of an LCG.

but yeah, nothing i'm gonna say is gonna change what your group is feeling about it.

also, i wonder if the lack of interest has to do with FFG actually having control over spoilers this time around? the hottest shit is probably being held back.

no. the root of archives is not in archives

so yes, you can install product placement in the root of archives and it will go off

True, otherwise Gang Sign would access upgrades on HQ, too.

>the hottest shit is probably being held back.
There's a lot of good stuff they've shown, I'd be a little surprised if there was much better shit than Councilman or that Wheel - nice to see they're thinking about rotation, like with Guru and the Hopper for plascrete

If everything is about the level we've seen so far I think it will be pretty good - the new bioroids sort of sealed that for me.

>> No.43577947

I don't really understand the argument.
You will still have to buy just as many cards with rotation or without. With rotation your cards just also have an expiration date.

Deep Red just for the Knight/Overmind interaction seems like Overkill to me.
But if it works for you, nice.

>i really don't feel like there's anything "the game" could do to change those perceptions

And now we're branching in to the issue of the LCG format and how I find it's a half-benediction half-curse for Netrunner. Better then the CCG model, but still, I do think a pace of slower, meatier, better self-contained updates - more classic board game-like if you will - would have been a better fit. Making it more easily modular, without drowning more casual players with the pace of releases.

But that's a debate we've had extensively when the game launched, probably no point in having it again. The boat has sailed on that one.

I like Stronger Together. I really do. It can make for very interesting games.

>> No.43583587

Heavy on defense?
Netrunner in general isn't a game where the corp can really be impenetrable by the runner.

I think your best shot is going for the packs that have Replicating Perfection, Sundew and Caprice Nisei. Caprice in RP is one of the times where the corp can really make a server that is a complete bitch to get through.

>> No.43583610

Also Opening Moves for Celebrity Gift and Jackson Howard.
If you can find that pack for reasonable prices at least.

>> No.43583921

How do you beat Foodcoats? Also it's a silly name for a deck.

>> No.43583944

Ok, so, you're basically almost *never* going to be able to make an impregnable server.

Sooner or later, later if you can help, the runner is going to be able to get in.

What you can do is manipulate things so that you have a decent idea of when you have a safe window to score.

Each faction does it slightly differently. Now, since we're talking only core + Old Hollywood (things expand once you add more cards to the pool, but this is the base), I'm going to use my old notes:

HB taxes clicks. It has tools to do mostly everything really, but its main game is to slow the runner down and work on projected bouts of speed to achieve its aims.

Jinteki taxes the cards first. It puts another form of pressure on the runner in that, it depletes that base resources, that can force a cost of drawing clicks, and both force the runner to turns of action and inaction by threatening a kill.

NBN is quite simply the best corp at directly taxing econ. Their base conditional ICE are a perfect example: don't really care about stopping the runner unless you know you really have too. Best to make him pay so servers cannot be gone through when the time comes.

Weyland... well Weyland has two profiles really: "Don't give a fuck" Weyland and "blow you out" Weyland. Weyland really aims at ignoring the runner and scoring agendas as much as possible, overpowering him economically and stopping him in his tracks (there's a reason all the best barriers belong to that corp) - and if it cannot do that, freeze the runner by threatening a kill.

>> No.43584009

Alternatively, Honor and Profit will open up worlds for you as a jinteki player.

Foodcoats is just HB rush running GFI so you don't get 3 pointers. You beat it like any other HB rush. Attack his economy by challenging constant rezzes and trashing his econ assets. Its bigger strength is probably that it can rez those for free with Breaker Bay Grid, so you're losing credits while he doesn't. Scrubber/Whizzard helps a lot here.
After you challenge his econ, stablish a R&D lock. He has Ash and Caprice in the scoring remote, so it's better if you can get to the agenda before he can install it.

>> No.43584226

Now, looking at your available card pool:

- You only have one in-faction agenda, but it's a very powerful one once you know how to play it right. Nisei Mk. II can and will win you games. Learning when and how to use that token can be a bit tricky, but being able to bait a run, stop it and make sure the runner cannot afford to re-run for the turn (generally, but not limited to using net damage, though money taxing can work just as well) is incredibly useful.

- One big issue is you have no 3-to-score agenda (whether a three or two pointer), meaning you can't put a card un-advanced on the table and threaten to score it by next turn This may not seem like much, but not being able to use the threat of a card being either a Snare! or an score-able agenda, being forced to advance ambushes in remotes to be a threat is pretty constraining when down to it. Which in a way can be leads to the next problem.

- You're going to be very tight econ-wise Core Jinteki often has a hard time with money and need to borrow a lot from the other corps to stay viable. Since I mentioned Snare! already: keep in mind that you need 4 in the bank at any time if you want the threat of a Snare to be real. So, don't be afraid to spend your influence liberally on econ.

- Remember that a runner that has zero card in grip is dead meat if you have two credits in the bank and a Neural EMP, provided he ran previous turn. One card if you have Neural EMP. Alternatively, remember that Snare! adds a tag to the runner, so you might try to brute force you way the Weyland way and try and threaten a Scorched Earth - though it's probably going to be pretty hard to sit on the econ needed to do so.

I hope I'm not discouraging you. This can be done. But it's hard to wrap your head around of the subtleties of it when you're starting. Best advice is always: play. You'll find what works and doesn't after a while.

>> No.43584293

Doomtown is good for casual play, and has some of the best multiplayer out of any game I've ever played.

The semi-randomness can be a decent equalizer, although sometimes it can lead to butthurt from people who feel they've been robbed of a game win.

If you do get into it, really spend some time learning and memorizing the movement rules, and realize that getting into a big shootout is usually the worst line of play you can make. Movement and keeping track of control points/influence is way more important than taking out the opponent's dudes.

>> No.43584434

That's funny, a friend of mine told me that you can't really challenge on econ and it's best to try to get as many random accesses early on, force the Caprice on remote and dig R&D. But the main difference was that instead of trashing his econ, just build up your own board.

Archived memories to recur the one-of punishing operations.
The deck will be retired once I get a kill with invasion of privacy and private security force.

>> No.43585901

It's believed that this reinforces "men's club" mentality and appearance which might make the game space look less appealing/safe to some people.

>> No.43585921

First off, what are your card limitations? One PSF means it'll be hard to find, and if it gets stolen you can't pull off the kill. So, 3 copies if that's your intended way of winning.

Secondly, might I recommend Snoop for this deck? Few people can avoid giving you the power counter the first time they facecheck it, and it's a free clickless damage that lets you snipe I've Had Worse when you want to kill them.

Third, cut the Power Grid Overload. That card is many levels of useless. You'll understand why once you try to play it. Foxfire is limited in use, but powerful in its niche. Your choice whether to keep. If you see many virtual resources, it could be good. But I doubt it's necessary, and you're likely to dump it. Datapikes are expensive for you, so if you have better choices, cut Datapike.

Definitely need more Melanges. I dunno if Plan B is really what you want here, seems very 'random'. Could fake it as a Beale I suppose.

You have a ton of influence space. You can splash for Eli 1.0 as a tax. Architect fits nicely in that position as well. I recommend a couple of Team Sponsorships if you have those.

Landing the tag will be the hardest part of all. A savvy runner will always clear the tags before his turn ends. So I would suggest 2 Midseasons to load them up with tags. Explode-A-Palooza is a great agenda to have since it gives you 5c for the followup Midseasons. It can replace Character Assassination and License Acquisition.

I'll try put together a list and see how it goes. Neural EMP is great here too.

>> No.43586070

To be honest, getting a kill is only flair and not how I imagine I'll be winning with this deck.
I have about 30% of all the cards so almost all the cards you mention are not in my posession.
I'll keep Power grid overload and foxfire since in my local meta they are very usefull.
Also plan B is good meta-wise since I usually run jinteki and if I spring traps out of faction, it will increase their fear of running advanced cards (it is already working and their paranoia is delicious).

This deck is serious but I'm also learning the game so that's why it looks this way.

When in doubt, go Argus.
3 scorched earth means you have 2 cores. Why are you not playing Corp and Runner whenever you play?
Anyway, your deck doesn't seem to lean too heavily one way or another, so I suggest you try both the core Weyland and Argus Security when you play next, since you're only playing Corp I guess you play several games with it. If you're worried about econ, play Weyland first.

Another suggestion. The minimum deck size is 45, but the maximum decksize before having to add more agendas is 49. It's generally good practice to make Corp decks of 49 cards to minimize the agenda density in your deck (this is, making less likely they access an agenda in a random poke at R&D, and also less likely to be agenda flooded early in the game).

well, unfortunately we do not have much time for playing, and making decks takes time, so we each of us makes a deck, we play with those for some time, with making slit changes ofc, We exchange decks too to test them.

That one core set NBN feel.
Not sure if the deck has enough money, maybe add 2 Pads or something? I like how versatile you try to be with low copies of many different cards. Also not sure about about 0 barriers, maybe add a paper wall.

I like the 24/7. Maybe put Grims or that Jinteki black ice with the three net damage traces so you have BP for the retirement to remove.
Not sure how useful Tenma Line is in Tennin. Having that in some remote might make it easier for the runner to disable your ability?

I have a deck sorta like this, too. But wait, you don't have a single copy of Mark Yale? Why not swap out at least one of your Captials of PADs for a Yale? Or maybe High Risk Investment for ID synergy.

>no hedge fund
Looks a bit tight on money for me. Looks like you're depending a lot on PriReq'ing some bigger ice.
Also you don't have Efficiency Committee or Biotic Labour, so I dunno why you even have Shipment from SanSan. You probably want to replace some shipments for Hedge Funds, Private Contracts or Melange.

Sounds pretty crazy. If you want to see your replicators early, maybe you should cut some excess cards to lower your deck size? Though I realise you probably want to use replicator for deck thinning and combating the fact that you have 6 cards too many.
You sure 1 copy of Lady is enough as a barrier breaker? Maybe try Battering Ram instead? I dunno, couldn't say without having tried the deck myself. I feel like Runner decks are more difficult to judge than Corp ones.

From your 9 transaction econ I'd definitely say go core Weyland. You should consider picking up Opening Moves if you somehow can, for Jackson Howard (lets you recurr all of your operation econ and also helps with agenda flood) and Restructure (lods e money).
Btw you only have 47 cards. Strongly suggest you to add 2 more cards. It reduces agenda density in your deck. Always good.

Here's a Genomics Deck I put together:
Off the Genomics 54
Industrial Genomics: Growing Solutions

Agenda (9)
1x Hades Fragment
3x Medical Breakthrough
2x NAPD Contract
3x The Future Perfect

Asset (16)
3x Jackson Howard •••
3x Melange Mining Corp.
3x Mental Health Clinic
2x Shi.Kyū
2x Shock!
3x Sundew

Upgrade (11)
2x Breaker Bay Grid
3x Caprice Nisei
3x Crisium Grid •••
3x Off the Grid ••••• ••••

Operation (2)
2x Hedge Fund

Barrier (5)
2x Ashigaru
3x Himitsu-Bako

Code Gate (6)
3x Crick
1x Inazuma
2x Lotus Field

Sentry (5)
2x Komainu
1x Pup
2x Tsurugi

15 influence spent (max 15)
22 agenda points (between 22 and 23)
54 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Breaker Bay

I like having 54 cards in Genomics, I think it really needs those extra cards. Not sure if 54 cards is a good idea when you're going for the Off the Grid combos though. Only tried the deck once, I won right when I drew the last card off of R&D. Never been so happy to have a hedge fund on the bottom of R&D.

Fuck, today I got a painful reminder why I stopped playing board games a year ago and sold off my collection.

My pleb friends can't be bothered to learn new games. I only have one friend who I thought I could talk into playing with me ( I even bought all the cards so he didn't even have to invest everything ) and today after losing for the upteenth time he said he'd just rather play hearthstone.

Hearthstone, because this game is the same as that one, just a slightly different flavor. Metaphor used : It's like when I'm eating apples and you bring me a pear, because you think it tastes better.

Because this is just as random as hearthstone and he needs to read all the cards to win. I mean we've played like 30-40 games and only used the Core Set + First Cycle. I even allowed him to netdeck, but he still couldn't win, so he just gave up on it.

Wish my shithole had a bigger community, but even then it's only fun if you can play with some friends.
I'll have to sell my stuff again. I guess I'll just buy Bang, because that's all they fucking want to play.

Why can't they like more complex games?

>> No.43591171

Gotta nurture people into it, if you keep stomping them at a game they weren't interested in enough to buy into, of course they're going to burn out on it.

But yeah, sounds like you should have stuck with board games. Also Bang!: The Dice Game is better than regular bang, get that instead.

>> No.43591666

I can't really hold back, it's obvious I put more effort into the game than him. It's also obvious if I let him win and then both of us feel worse. I tried to let him win, but in the end he thought it was a bluff and somehow didn't run on any of my stuff, because he was scared.

Going to get that.

I'll try that. It's just that they are the friends I meet up with all the time and I genuinely like them and think they are smart. They are also into video games and nerdy/geeky in the right ways. It's just hard to get 4 people for most board games and they don't like learning new things. I love learning new games and figuring out ways to win to the point of exhaustion. They call me obsessive, it's probably true.

I enjoy all kinds of games, but games with a lot of randomness or shallow games bore me quickly. I like the ones with tactics, strategy. Just generally things that keep me occupied for a while.

I tried to play Dungeon Twister with them, boy did that go over bad. Hive too.
There was only one game all of us liked, Galaxy Trucker + expansions. They also liked Munchkin and some other shit like that, but it's obvious that the best strategy is to hoard stuff, stay in second place (3rd depending on group dynamics) then go all out when they wasted all their resources.

Maybe I'm just a horrible person to play games with.

>> No.43591716

The point of boardgames is to play with others in the same room. I could play other stuff if I wanted video games.

Maybe I will try some role playing games, but I don't know anything about them. I think my obsessiveness could be harnessed if I was a DM, they would just have to make their characters. They probably would go full murderhobo and I know one of them would min/max. Still, I'll have to at least try.

No Yale because the main plan is to chain Atlases, and Yale really doesn't produce enough money from that. Optimally that deck only scores one non-Atlas agenda. Even in a worst case scenario it's only likely three non-Atlases, one of which will win the game.

GFIs are there over HRI because normal 3-pointers are a huge liability. They aren't going to get scored very often and even then they are quite likely to be the last agenda to get scored, so defensive abilities are much more important than post-scoring abilities.

At the beginning I pictured this deck as a rush-glacier deck. So I picked up agendas that followed the idea of free rezzes over something more FA like EC or BL.
Next I wanted to get more value out of my cards over raw economy, Shipment from SanSan is actually replacing Hedge Funds to advance cards even when I'm broke. I figured that Level Clearance would let me cycle the deck, while MirrorMorph let me install after BLC.
I agree that the deck is tight on money. I'm thinking that replacing 2 CyberCourts and 1 Domestic Sleeper for Melange would help a lot. Although I don't want to drop the CyberCourts.

That's very conveniently exactly 17 influence, so NEH is the only place where you can do this. Assuming a 45 card deck with 3x of all the important combo pieces except Traffic Accident, of which there's only 2.

Starting hand: the probability of having the right cards, and not having any of the cards that need to be in the deck is 0.36%.

The probability of not drawing the any of the important cards from NEH's ability is 64.10%.

The probability of hitting a shipment and two sweeps with the first AD is 0.10%.

The probability of hitting an AD and any two cards of the three scorches and two TAs with the second AD is 0.15%.

The probability of hitting the last three of the kill cards in the final AD is 0.02%.

So, the probability for all this to happen in a row is 0,000000000069228%, ie. on average this will happen once every 1,444,502,224,533 games.

I've nothing against Brainstorm, I love it to bits since it'll make my friends hate IT Dept more than they already do, but it's ridiculous that we've seen exactly two Weyland car, Surat City Grid and the barrier, and it wasn't from official announcement articles. Seriously, what's going on here? Either Weyland's cards are so shitty they don't dare to reveal it, or it's some super awesome surprise they're hiding. Given Mumbad's high power, I want to believe in the latter, but given Weyland's track record...

3 cards, we've also seen this eminently forgettable tutor.

For Liberated Mind I've seen one other hint at a Weyland card - though it looks to be a runner-centric pack there's the bit at the bottom

>"The four Corp factions extend their abilities to perceive and influence events in the virtual world with new ice, operations, and agendas. They range from the integration of bioroid ice to the expansion of Jinteki's psi ops, and from NBN's exchanges of information to the use of top-quality consultants.

We know 3 of the (at least) 4 cards this refers to - Exchange of Information (NBN operation), Chetana and the pack-art Ravana 1.0 (psi and bioroid ice) - so it sounds like there'll be something consultant-related for Weyland.
Hopefully something that helps justify pic related.

>> No.43602101

What sucks is in the Khala Ghoda, the first pack in the Mumbad cycle, Weyland only gets one new card if the crunch is right.

>> No.43602137

You wot

Based on what we've seen, it seems they're pushing the pre-rez + discount angle of Weyland, presumably because they realised advanceable ice was a shit gimmick. And more execs. The people aspect is thick in Mumbad. Right now that can tutor E Mills, The Board and The Twins in faction only, right?

He's right - 4 is flatline have it guessed for the later packs in the cycle, but there's enough pictures from Khala Ghoda to see that Weyland get exactly one card.

Remembering there's only 19 cards per pack, Kala Ghoda Real TV and Interupt 0 are 15 and 16, for NBN, and Mumba Temple is Neutral number 18 - only 17 is Weyland.

I know Weyland got 4 in UoT but that seems particularly unfair directly after the NBN big box

>> No.43603021

This card is *crazy*.

Significantly, it makes "Turn 1 Hedge Fund, Ice + X" a significantly scarier opening for HB. I do like it when FFG reinforces the "running without a sentry breaker is dangerous".

That being said, I am unsure if I would actually play it, and probably not more than one. I could see use in a tournament setting, having one in your list so you can bluff the "Are you willing to risk just flat out losing the game right here" whenever you start with a hedge fund.

>running without a sentry breaker is dangerous

Cybernetics Court and Full Immersion RecStudio (amongst other things, like HB's sweet transactions) should be enough to tell you that they really don't.

Though FIRS is at the end of the cycle, so there's some small chance that Weyland will get some cool stuff in return, but for an actual concerted effort to help the faction we'll have to look to the next cycle

Shit, didn't notice that.

That's an interesting one, considering that that pack in particular focusses on politics and government shenanigans - something Weyland is known for dealing in.

HB and Jinteki are getting Political subtype assets, I could definitely see Weyland getting in on that.

And this titbit of flavour feels very Weyland - by name alone, if nothing else - though it could be associated with literally any faction's card, or not be anything at all

Yeah, well, look at Research Station, look at Worlds Plaza, look at bad pub money, even NBN is doing bad pub econ with Reality ThreeDee holy shit Weyland cards have just been consistently underpowered and overcosted. Yes, Scorched Earth and Traffic Accident can be considered their faction gimmick, but to use those you need tags. Weyland needs their own way of tagging, otherwise it'll just be NBN who can do kill decks better and HB who can glacier better. Better econ, even, straight up print a new transaction, maybe one that says pay 2 gain 6, or pay 2 reveal up to five black or grey ops, if you do so take a bad pub and gain 14 a la Celebrity Gift but Weyland style. >> No.43604519

Wrong. It clearly says that Immerion studio costs 3 more to trash for each card hosted on it. Trash cost of hosted cards doesn't read.

>> No.43604527

Yes and yes. I think the idea with FIRS is to host an ambush on it to protect the agenda. The hosted cards increase FIRS's trash cost pretty fast so "trash host so you don't have to access the other cards" isn't as viable a strategy as for World's Plaza.

>> No.43604562

Still, then we're at 9 with two cards on it. Scrubbers etc work as normal. Seems coaster tier to me.

>> No.43604595

Runner chooses the access order, so all he has to do is access the agenda, steal it, then trash RecStudio for 6 to not get nailed by an Ambush. The question of whether or not the runner knows which one is Junebug when he accesses, or if he can pay the One Fuckload of credits to avoid getting dunked, is a little more fluid.

>> No.43604640

Yeah exactly. Considering the time and credits needed to set up a server like this, paying 9 to completely defuse the whole thing is cheap.

>> No.43604651

Still, having 9 to spend at the end of what is likely a taxing run (possibly involving Ash) to knock FIRS out isn't very fun. At least, it's a hell of a tax.

>tfw both double-advanced cards are Junebugs

>> No.43604666

Well, you could do some more work to make it a more lethal deathtrap. Throw some credit taxing ICE in front, install some Encryption Protocols, and otherwise be a little shit about things. It basically does let you double up the root of your scoring server, rather than committing it specifically to holding assets like Worlds Plaza, which is honestly pretty cool. I don't think it's doomed to go in the trashcan right from the get-go, even though it's an NBN card for some inexplicable reason.

>> No.43604688

I actually like it if they focus more on single factions in their datapacks. I'd prefer it if they had cards for 1-2 factions on each side per datapacks instead of what they did in spin cycle for example
>oh look at all these cards that synergise with each other
>there's exactly 1 in each data pack
>if you want to build this deck, you have to buy every data pack of the cycle
"But you would buy every data pack anyway." No, I don't buy every data pack. I normally just buy the ones that have cards I really want.
Spreading out cards from each faction over all packs is one thing I hate about the LCG model. Look at Warhams Conquest. They have way stricter rules for splashing, but they also have 8 different factions in each pack, soon to be 9.
