An eversor could take on a group of Deathwatch marines almost by rote unless they got the drop on him, and even then, Temple Assassin training means they can dodge unlimited times per round with something like a +20 to the roll, and it can't be negated (Unassailable Grace).

He is initiative 5 base, gets bump to 6 due to WT (since it only applies if he is the warlord), the red grail explicitly states it affects him as well, which boosts him to 7, and the charge bonus from the Baal Strike force nets him at initiative 8, so yes Corbulo is probably the fastest marine in the game and at strength 6 o the charge, 5 attacks with rending he can cause pain to anything that does not instant-death him.

As I understand it, the Red Thirst was already a flaw in the geneseed that Sanguinius was trying to cure in life. His death a Horus' hands caused a psychic backlash and enducing the Black Rage. Marines who fall to the Thirst simply abandon tactical sense in favour of sheer bloodlust and become savage, feral even. Falling to the Rage though, the marine either experiences or believes himself to be Sanguinius on Horus' ship in his last hours, focused purely on killing the enemy in the most brutal way possible. There is no overcoming the Rage, unlike the Thirst. I hypothesise that this is a result of the psychic (and thus warpy) nature of its origin.

I know this isn't a list making thread, but I am finally getting back into 40k from a 6 year hiatus. I stopped at the end of 5th Edition. 6th did nothing for me and 7th seems like there has been a little bit of life that has been breathed into the game.

My first army was BA (used the old 3rd Edition rules, of which I still have that book) and then got rid of them only to collect them again in 5th.

Anywho, looking to really just play for fun. Some stuff is min maxxed, but that's mostly because the people I play with are WAAC.

Looking to Deep Strike the Death Company and Libby on a Skull while a full Tactical Squad, and DC dread drop in via Pods.

Culexus tries to cause mischief.

Inquisitor tanks for Devastators.

Other Tac Squad waits to come in with Libby on turn 2. Hopefully making it.

Formations used are the Baal Strike Force. Reroll on Warlord Trait trying to get either the Descent of Angels or Soul Warden.

Cheers

There is a Fallen involved in this so Azrael might have make tough call. Help Mephiston or chase the Fallen. We think we know what is going to happen. Or the Fallen will be Cypher and he might save Azrael. But let us hope that Asmodai will park the Rock on Abaddon if Azrael dies.

I think the red thirst is something more of a defect embedded in the BA gene seed. The death of their Primarch only awoken the sickness from its dormant satate.

I think there is a pretty good tale in the Haemonculus book that tells of a (I think it is) Lamenters strike force that comes to the aid of a world that has fallen prey to a DA Haemonculus raiding force.
There they capture a Space Marine, and upon close examination discover that this "lesser being" is already infected with an illness. They run some tests and sends the Marine back to his company. Only this time injected with a serum that not only rapidly speeds the growth of the red thirst, but also makes it contagious. Within weeks the entire planet is slaughtered free of all life...

>Good thing it was one-time...IS IT?
Who knows. Tzeentch hates the Lamenters if you ask me. If it wasn't for the intervention of Fabius the Lamenters probably would have nothing wrong with them and the Blood Angels would have found a cure for their flaws. But since something good would come out of that, and probably because Bird Brain hates things that represent positive hope that can change the status qou he had to ruin it. If you ask me at least. Only time will tell if they can survive Tzeentch's plans. Don't want to end up like the Blood Drinkers do we?

They can't dodge an unlimited number of times per round, and they can only dodge once against an attack.

It's also up to the GM if something is dodgeable or not. Their temple training is for shit like not being shot by a sniper even if you were unaware or an explosion so big normally you couldn't doge it. It's for "an attack not normally able to be dodged" like a concealed marine cutting your head off, not for someone spending a fate point to make an attack "impossible" to dodge.

"Hurr durr marine wank"
Okay, but you're just doing vindicare wank then?
A PC assassin at rank 9 is sort of in the same XP realm as a rank 1 deathwatch PC. They are pretty comperable. One is not totally OP vs the other. That's why I said it's ridiculous to say he could take out an entire kill team. He might disable one before being gunned down and beaten to death.

Hurr, +20 to dodge, rolling under a 90.
Rolling under a 90 to hit in deathwatch isn't weird either.

Deathwatch marines also are not death company. Deathwatch is an inquisition thing. Death Company is a blood angel thing. A blood angel in deathwatch ready to be sent back home to join the Death Company because he's crazy (which is in the rules interestingly enough) would probably have been rank 8 for some time and would be every bit of an impossible bad ass as a Rank 15 or whatever Temple Assassin.

Unassailable Grace is just a mastery talent for a bunch of things he has already plus an additional reaction. The 'dodge the undodgeable' is for being a Temple Assassin.

BROTHER MADRIGANOS
Tactical Squad Vorlois are renowned for going into battle armed to the teeth, even by the standards of the Adeptus Astartes. Brother Madriganos has learned the teachings of his Sergeant well, and never takes to the field without additional krak grenades and his longserving meltagun. Madriganos’ armour is proudly adorned with scrolls and oath-papers which detail the many monsters and heretical war engines that he has laid low. These include the Gorkanaut Krushfoot, the traitor Land Raider Beast of Antraxides, and a full team of three heavily armed Tau battlesuits, slain during the battle for Foldane’s Landing.

Oh, I forgot how random he can get. Sorry for the wait, Anon.
>At least we have the Sanguinor.
Yeah but he has to leave. It's not like we can force it back into Sang's body where it belongs.
>Chaos wants you to join subconsciously.
Should have known. That won't work.
Now I see why he's a munchkin.

My guess is that Sanguinius was actually a big boy about it and tried to do it himself while Dad was busy working in the shed on Terra. If he needed help I'm sure he'd ask for it but perhaps the Heresy interrupted him in that respect.

Oh yeah, one of the sculptors supposedly let that slip during a con or something. The Dante mini was meant to be replaced, but then someone higher up asked: "Why not sell them both?", so they replaced the axe with a sword, the pistol with a chalice and made up some new fluff.
And since the designer spoke of more than one mini it is generally assumed that Astaroth is the other, though the new sanguinary priest is also looking suspiciously like Brother Corbulo.
Mind you, I don't know if that's actually true, I only read it on/tg/ as well, but the obvious connection seems to be there.

The latter. To fight that many marine versions of Evesors is like GW stating the Emperor, giving his model to one person and forcing you to use SoBs against the guy who is using the Emperor. Actually that comparison is bad, what is a better one?

Moriar The Chosen.

And no, they don't use them directly. The pilots are 100% BR free...for now.

Flesh Tearers are badass, batshit marines that are completely into RIP AND TEAR.

Angels Encarmine are badass, tireless crusading marines that are so very much into CRUSADING INTENSIFIES.

Both are dying out and both have shitloads of DCs.

Also DCs are marines consumed by the BR, which makes them think they're Sanguinius and they get a portion of their late Primarch's power. This often manifests in them trying to tear a daemon's arse a new one or shove a eviscerator up a daemon engine's arse.

Depending on the daemon, this is probably humiliating. Being apart of the grimdarkness and all of the problems in the galaxy and bunch of nutcase mortals outdo you? That's humiliating. And then the nutcase mortals do that to you again when they die and they're souls are in the Warp now. It's a never ending cycle.

Pretty much every time Ka'Bandha crosses paths with the sons of Sanguinius. And last time he ended up being smashed like a cyclonic torpedo into a planet by the Sanguinor...FROM THE EXOSPHERE. AND BEFORE THAT HE GOT PENETRATED WITH HIS SWORD AND THEN DROPPED.

Why does he even try? He knows his history says that he will always lose to the Blood Angels but he's got to know that it will always end in him getting defeated. I'm willing to bet that he has to hide in the Brass Citadel from Sang when he's not in the material universe.

This is now my headcanon and there is some canon to back this up. Talon of Horus has shown that Imperials do get an afterlife but they have to help the Emperor out with his war against Chaos in the Warp. But I still think that Sang is having a tea party in the Warp with the other dead primarchs.
