So if Khorne gets his power from psychic feelings, and those are the feelings of wrath and bloodlust, wouldn't the people feeding Khorne the most be the dejected impotent nerds who can't act on their desires?
And when Khorne takes that energy and uses it like steroids on his followers, is he intentionally perpetuating the cycle by creating even more bullied weaklings?

No no no, not like that. Repressed feelings and emotions do nothing for the chaos gods. It's when you ACT on these feelings that fuels them.

When the bullied weakling finally snaps and shoots up a school, that pleases Khorne. His dominion is violence and rage and war, all mixed together. You have to DO these things to empower him.

Now, you're right about the cycle part. Pleasing Khorne with war and bloodshed will earn you his favor, which earns you his blessings, which allows you to wage more war.

Why does everyone love the Alphas so much?

Their paint scheme is hideous, and the one book I've read with them in it ("Deliverance Lost") just made them seem ridiculous. "Undercover Space Marines" doesn't make sense to me...and if they're so wildly unpredictable and unorthodox, why do they field dreds and terms?

Is there any lore where they're amazing, or is there something about them I'm missing?

1: He's pro Be'lakor/End Times/Emperor bashing/the "Chaos will win because Chaos says so and everything is meaningless because JUST AS PLANNED LOLZ XD!".
2: He defends Vengeful Spirit.
3: He hates the Black Templars and thinks them becoming a Codex compliant chapter would be a good thing and normalizing.

If you didn't like how the Alpha Legion was portrayed in Deliverance Lost, you're not going to like the Alpha Legion.

Their book, Legion, is horrible, it's just a bunch of garbage about some homebrow IG regiment form the Heresy days that ends up wiped out at the end of the book so that's a waste of time anyway mixed in with bare glimpses of the Alpha Legion themselves, and the ending is so stupid that I'm pretty sure Deliverance Lost is a desperate attempt to repair the damage by portraying the Alpha Leigon the way they should be.

You're all correct, we've discussed him too much already.

Let's speak of something of something more on-topic. I actually want to bring up something other than Chaos Space Marines too.

I love renegades, maybe that's not the exact way to describe them but basically very militant cultists, traitor Imperial Guard, and other non-super human followers of chaos. They seem to be to be much more interesting than the well-ordered homogeneous forces of the Imperium or the Necrons or the Tau. You can have endless diversification within a disorderly mob of chaos mooks. Or they can be perfectly orderly, and still mixed up in appearance, that's why i really like them.

TL;DR chaos renegade pics please

the Ultramarines thing was during the scouring. The Warmaster and the surprise attack from the Word Bearers were what kept the smurfs out of the heresy.

>Think Be'Lakor is a fag too?

Yes. They could have handled him jus a bit different and still not fuck everything up.

Here would be my take on it:

>To become a daemon prince, you need 100 Chaos points (metaphorically speaking)
>Be'Lakor upon his ascension received 100 Chaos points from each o the big 4, giving him 400 Chaos points
>He had all the powers that came with being a full Daemon Prince of each of the Chaos gods, but none of them had total control, if any, over him like they would a Daemon Prince of their own
>Each of the four agreed that pumping him full of Chaos Steroids like that was a mistake and thus limits the power of any future DP of Undivided

Daemon Princes of Chaos Undivided aren't nearly as powerful as ones aligned to one of the Big 4, but they don't yield to one god.

In real life I don't like harming people. And I tend to have genuine hatred for every faction in 40k, usually because they are backwards and medieval or are complete mindless blights on the galaxy. Chaos is growing on me however, I can kind of get into the mindset of living one of the 40k universe's horrifying lives from any area of any faction or society. I like the grim dark despite my nature. Black Crusade (that guy simulator, which has become my favourite system ) actually opened me up to the chaos mindset.

I like slaanesh though, it's like playing a game, your damned if you do damned if you don't whatever you do, oblivion is coming for you regardless. You try to get what you want without giving slaanesh too much of what it wants, honour and venerate because it's the source of your pleasure. You can become a masterful artist, adept swordsman or a great seducer, striving for perfection or excess is a great way to live comparatively in 40k. Might as well shag, do drugs and listen to loud music while your soul I slowly being devoured.

I am a rather sexual person and have always enjoyed making people hot and bothered. Yada Yada, I like the sexy times to be had, won't disgust you with details but you get my point. I love the perfection and beauty aspect of slaanesh.

Khorne is mindless and stupid, so boring and simple. Nurgle is disgusting, foul and wasteful. Tzeench is a close second for me, but I'm no liar and at least I know how slaanesh is using me.

Sure I love fighting sports and martial displays, sure I have a great thirst for knowledge, sure I want to endure and pride myself on my fortitude but I see the beauty in everything, I'm always after new sights, sounds and experiences. I want to learn and become good at many things, work on my art. I want to experience so much and I'm very lusty.

Malcodor may have been the first Senesi or the first person Big E learned how to turn into a Living Saint so he could always have someone by his side. So thousands of years later things are going pretty good for humanity during the Dark Age of Technology. These Men of Iron are making you remember this one movie he saw and then the Warp started to get freaky because of some pointy eared idjits. Next thing he knew was the Men of Iron rebelling and then aliens started to attack after humanity was tired from the war with the machines. For thousands of years psykers have summoned daemons, Enslavers and other Warp nasties and humans being stupid and aliens being apart of the problem. He came to a conclusion. This was going to stop.

When the Heresy erupted and the shackles of loyalty were cast off, the Word Bearers set upon the Sons of Ultramar with unbridled hatred. The Ultramarines were initially stunned, and Lorgar was able to push them back to Ultramar, the region of space that the Ultramarines govern and defend. It was upon the world of Calth that the final battle would take place. Famed for its orbital shipyards, Calth was a typical world of Ultramar. Its inhabitants were wealthy and generous, knowing little in the ways of want or fear. In many ways, theirs was a paradise, and as such it was not to last.

So what if the Tyranids do eat the galaxy or the Orks crush everything on one reality? The Dark Gods would move on to a different reality. There's bound to be one where Big E was less of a jerk and was more reasonable, one where everyone is an Ultramarine, one where Big E completed the Great Crusade without the Horus Heresy happening and things going better than expected, one where the Eldar are more evil than the Chaos Gods which is probably a vast majority of realities, and one where Kharn stayed loyal to the Emperor and got recognized as an Imperial Saint and got a holiday in his honor. The siege of Vraks.
For 17 years [as opposed to world war 1 that lasted 4 and a bit years between two evenly matched forces] a rag tag human militia made up of disgruntled miners, religious fanatics that may have not even served chaos, and a underwhelmed PDF held at bay the most efficient and deadly siege warfare group the imperial guard had to offer. The battle only came to a point when Chaos Space Marines came in out of nowhere to try and steal glory and in turn attracting the attention of the inquisition that just about managed to stop a massive warp incursion.

The Imperial victory was entirely Pyrrhic and the armory world of Vraks now lies in ruins. This being said, Nurgle came away with a Plague Ogryns and made a planet specifically to recreate the conditions of Vraks since he loved it so much so it looks like the real victory went to him.

He could have made them a down to earth chapter. Instead he copy-pasted the old lore rogue trader era lore about them and added the bit where all marines want to be Ultramarines and lick the boot of the Spiritual Liege.

Well for one thing we don't have an entire 10k ear history of everyone, so no, we can't compare based on that except what we're told about it. And we're told that the Ultramarines win constant glory wherever they go.

But for just a snippet see the fact that the Ultras outperformed everyone else in the Great Crusade.

While the Imperial Fists have lost three companies, the Black Templar got their High Marshall beaten humiliated, three chapters were wiped by the Necrons. Nobody cared or panicked about these defeats and losses. They only cared and got scared over the death of a dozen ultramarines.
