Well I just finished my faerie tail jump and things went rather nicely

Faerie tale
Drop in
20 years old
Archive (700)
Dragon slayer magic (fire) (-200)
Fanservice drawback (-100)
Motion sickness drawback (0)

I being dropped in to town I had no real idea what was what was whst. After searching around though I found out that this world has groups of Mages that form guilds, and the biggest one in the current area was called faerie tail, so I walked to their guild building. Surprisingly they are a very easy guild for Mages to join requiring only an okay from their current master.

After I joined I used my abilities at the archive spell and my new dragon slayer abilities to do odd jobs whenever available.

Between jobs I went into the city to talk to merchants guilds, impressing on them how useful I could be with my archive ability. I was able to buy a pair of x120 glasses near the end of the first year.

And with that I started reading survival manuals as fast as I could, as well as fighting manuals. I used this knowledge to give my guild mates a bit of a boost for times when they might be between towns or get into a fight. Most can handle themselves but some are idiots And I thought this would help.

I put add out that I was offering a fast way to learn any book or series of books by heart, there where surprisingly few takers at first.

I ordered a custom set of x900 speed Reading glasses in the form of goggles at the end of year two, this really boosted my knowledge selling business because now I could basically sell an entire profession in a day. the customer would still need to practice a little for hands on but they would already know everything available. My business soared.

I ordered five more pairs of the goggles in case these broke.

Good choice.

>> No.37772543

by year four I was getting mission requests, and apparently my archive ability is great there too allowing me to shield myself, fire projectiles, and even give myself a speed boost by over clocking (no idea how that works just that I get really tired after using it.)

I tried to star clear of the main events in faerie tail here and didn't change much of the main story.

After I year five thought I had to start supplimenting the guild to help everyone out. It was hard times with the big guys gone, I had to take over a large portion of the mcs missions while they where gone.

But on the whole when they reappeared the guild was in much better shape.

By the end of the jump I had twenty pairs of the speed read goggles and five pair of x1000 speed Reading goggles.

Events may not have played out exactly how they did in the anime. I think that's my fault a bit.

To the next jump.

Reposting question from last thread, in a desperate hope for greater consensus/for someone here to be a RWBY expert

I was wondering if the raw power of a Semblance can be increased over centuries. Payback seems to have an upper limit of "tenfold" but what about abilities like Abyssal and Highlighter? Could Jam be a good substitute for Gift of the Twilight Imperium eventually?

I don't know if this question has been asked before, but what guns if any do you use in jumpchain? I'd like to have a very large collection of fire arms. I want a Mosin-Nagant signed by Simo Haya, a M1911A1, and an AN-94. Possibly G-11 for German space magic potential. Pic related is one of the guns I use for plinking.

>> No.37772839

There's no real way to say, given what is known about Semblances, (unique to user, tied somehow to their Aura, roughly defined as "that thing that you can do that's unique") and it's hard to compare power levels given a) the sheer variety of powers makes a baseline hard to establish (like, how do you compare super speed to someone who can make shadow clones?) and b) with one exception (Glynda, who does telekenesis) everyone who's Semblances are known are roughly similar ages, and on top of that, there isn't much in the way of different time periods shown so you can't compare one character to themselves.

So as a result, it is my opinion that you should stick to the age old tradition of fanwanking it.
I am of e opinion that you don't have an increase in straight up power, but rather become more efficient and precise as you get more experienced.

>> No.37772942

I think >>37772839 covered pretty much everything, but if you don't want to fanwank then just take the Soft-Cap skill from Elona that lets you always get better at stuff. It might take a few centuries of training to get really good, but they will grow in power.

Well, that's something at least. I thought of age=power mainly because of Glynda being an adult, really. Thanks for the advice anon.

For close quarters engagements, there's the Glock, the UMP45, the Tauron 9mm and various uzis. Mid range, there's the SCAR-H and AK47 (yeah we know, obvious pick-but c'mon, it's reliable). Finally, there's the M82 on the rare occasion we personally have to wield a long gun. We assume this is the very sniper rifle we picked up long ago in Pokemon jump.

...to be honest, conventional guns tend to go out the window for us. Even our minions tend to end up loading up on things like the Mass Effect black hole guns, gauss weaponry, Eldar darklight emitters, Tesla generators and magical railguns than straightforward firearms.

At this point in jumpchain, guns are more of an antipersonnell option for us than anything, when we absolutely, positively need to put an Origin Bullet inside of someone. Well, Origin Buckshot in the case of the DRS-12 and USAS-12

I will say this, ruby herself expected explicitly gets better at manipulating her semblance(superspeed) to the point she weaponizes the shockwaves. This was a nonlethal attack but its a drastic improvement on her earlier usage. The character is also untrained in even managing her semblance, that and all other uses of it have been in a basically straight line. Semblances, for these facts, can definitely be reasoned to at least improve with usability and control, likely power as well though. With teleportation, durability, healing factor, shapeshifting, orgasmo rays and ice control/generation I think I should be fine for the ten years. Shapeshifting should keep me human looking most of the time at least.
The Harem perk from negima should also get me some connections to the X-men.

Any ideas on how good the teleport or iceman combos will be?

Next up is Bleach where things will just be OP.

Yeah, it starts to get crazy OP like that but I think it would be more fun going through a few jumps like that than a usual chain.

Any ideas on how Teleport+Speed would be worth the cost? I'm not really sure about it and was considering adding the Speed to Regeneration instead.

I think the Bleach one is going to end up even worse, the Zanpakuto will just be a hodgepodge of everything together.

Yeah, that's... that's a thing that happened. Yet one more notch on my list of "picking up terrible companions because I can". If the fluff text is any indication, I even suffer some kind of brain fart and forget she's evil during the actual jump.

But, late-ish jump, and I've got a ton of danger, emotion, and moral detecting powers, so I suspect I'd realize SOMETHING's up, even if I wasn't sure what. Unless she were somehow able to block all of them, which would set off bigger alarms to me than if she couldn't. Also, it seems as though Unorthodox would actually completely seal my Vestal powers, which means I basically straight up don't have the power required to jumpstart the plot too fast for the main characters to get acclimated to, which means that everything SHOULD happen just as it's supposed to do. It's a weird balancing act.

A completely different concern is I just might not remember why the hell I even picked up this companion in the first place, if/when I figure it out. Like, was I just looking for an "in" with the bad guys? Or for the main plot of the game? Did I just think it would be funny? The truth is I want to try to study and potentially replicate her weird and hideous magical powers, which is a dangerous prospect that might completely fail.

Honestly, I don't think she's so much a danger to ME, so much as... all this might inadvertently cause a lot of collateral damage, and could even end up being a giant waste of time.
But, hey. That's SCIENCE!

Soul Reaper - I'm not turning down a Zanpakuto. (1900)
Soul Society.

Weight - I'm always going to pick this. (1600)
Empowerment - Ichigo seems to use it well. (1200)
Elemental manipulation - Crystals, like Toshiro but not ice. Hitting things leaves crystal on them to hinder movement.(900)
Dissolve - Like byakuyas but scatters into many small shards of crystal.(800)
Extend - The crystals can now extend to stab stuff. Leads to unpredictability. (700)

Damaging - This would probably effect how strong the crystals are, the effect of empowerment, the multiplier of weight or all of them. (500)
More of pre existing element - An even larger cloud of crystals to attack things with. Basically byakuyas again. (200)
Duration - On the off chance it doesn't destroy something immediately this will help out. (0)

Kido - Gaining a large boost from Negima my Kido should be amazing. (free)
Keikaku Dori (free)
More power - Seems useful for everything from kido to straight up fighting. (-400)
Soul Builder - Combined with Negima tech I can build crazy shit that runs off my spirit power. (-600)

S blueprints - I could give the guys in Fairytail a nice boost with this, maybe Chad too. (-950)
Suppresion Cloak - This is for my buddy Stark, I'll help hide him so he can live. (-1000)

Not lost (-400)
Hollow Target - Should be easy to deal with. (0)

I should definitely be lieutenant level by now. My Zanpakuto might be the best one around.
Either during the huge fight or beforehand I want to save Stark, hide him away and be his friend since that's what he really wants.
I do want to stay away from Aizen though until he stops using his zanpakuto.

Pod number 1 used on Coyote Starrk.

I don't know how to work it out but if it's anything like byakuyas then my Shikai should have 1000 blades, if each hit multiplied something's weight by 2 what would it be like after 1000 hits?

My only other companion is my AI who at this point should have her own body I've built for her. I've decided to name her Olivia.

Rolled an 8, I choose to start at Magnolia!

Archive magic - It's free and I'm not turning down a HUD.

Dragon Slayer magic - I choose Water as it's common and no one has it yet. (800)

Second Dragon Slayer magic! - I can afford it and people already have it in the setting. I think I'll go for Wind as it could work well with Water and it has some nice support magic. (-400)

Bounty - I'll be ready, they won't be expecting this level of magic immunity though. (-200)
Fanservice - This isn't just Grays thing anymore, I am so replacing him. (0)

Plan? Harem Juvia and maybe Erza. Help them all fight bad guys as I should be almost untouchable, win the day! maybe give some characters zanpakuto.
I think Juvia would like me being a water dragonslayer.

Is there anything later on that could wreck me?

Companions now. Starkk:
Dragonslayer magic - I'm not sure which to give him, so far I'm thinking white. (200)
Smoke magic- cowboys smoke right? (free)
Archive (50)
Headphones (0)

Dragonslayer magic - Lightning fits an AI well don't you think? (200)
Archive - Free, fits AI.

Woo, mercenaries. And that's surely what I am. If someone wants me to help save the world, they better be prepared to make it worth my time.
Then again, Star Fox apparently gets paid crazy money, if 64 was any indication, so it might just be.

I feel like Telepathy is way too expensive, given it effectively amounts to another form of danger sense. ... but then, it's another form of danger sense, so of course I would take it. Can't get enough of that.

Also, think I prefer Adventures, because I greatly prefer moving under my own power as opposed to riding in a vehicle. Of course, even more than that, I prefer sending vehicles to fight FOR me, while I stay home, but that's not really an option. Supposedly. But apparently I know how they're constructed now, so I just might be able to rig together some autopilot mechanisms.

Then maybe afterwards it might be fun to tour the galaxy and just look at stuff. Study ship designs. That sort of thing. The planets in this system are all pretty one note, but still interesting to look at, I think.

The banishment? After he returned, he hunted down the entire bloodline of the man who banished him. It is possible to kill him, but he is more than a sodding dragon. A mere dragon is not capable of telling a capital G God to sit the fuck down, not when that capital-G God is in their home.

mist form only works at night. wont work in a dark cave unless it is night outside. the healing works by reforming your body as mist before you become flesh again. as with all demon magic when the sun is up it doesnt work, even if you are in a cave.

magic attacks bypas the mist form and do damage, and psychic attacks still work.

>> No.37782297

if the mist form only works at night, you need to change the wording. Currently it says at night OR in darkness.

>> No.37782601

Normally a jump has discounts for both. In your case it looks like you have a 1/2/4/6 scheme, and usually for those, the 2/4/6 are discounted to an origin and the 1 are free.

>> No.37782680

Well, I think you can get by with just giving a good description of them. Their abilities, their origins, their habits, maybe some common appearances...those together should be enough to distinguish them from other classes of monster.

Location Roll
Age Roll
Backgrounds (including drop-in, no other requirements)

Those are the only standard sections. More are added in some jumps (companions, ships, etc etc) and rarely, in some, sections are taken away (few jumps have no age roll, but more rarely its others, like Black Bullet and no drawbacks).

So here's a thought experiment for you, jumpers...

Jump-chan appears before you for the first time, giving you the chance to do the jumpchain, but even after all the information has been conveyed to you, you say the one thing neither of you expects...

however, it is quickly followed by

"...There is someone who deserves it more than me"

Who is the one you would sacrifice the entire chain for, just so they could take it in your stead?

[Dante Must Die Mode]
Jump-chan, taken aback by your selflessness, agrees to let your replacement go in your stead...and you're coming along! However, you are both subject to the following caveats due to this...unique situation.

1) You must take the same jumps at the same time
2) The 1000cp you start with is for the both of you. No 2000cp to start with. drawbacks taken to gain extra CP will affect you both
3) You cannot import each other through companion import options
4) You are still limited to the 8 active companions at a time between the two of you
5) You share the same warehouse, but you choose your own body mod each

How does this affect your build?
How do you build around each other?
How much better/worse is the chain for you for having your chosen comrade along for the ride?

As well as the instance on resolution and d8 (which should be more 'if you're able' than has to be), and his instance on there needing to be 3 discount levels. Like I pointed out, most jumps not have 4, which ends up providing more variety in builds and available powers.

He also thinks that gear based backgrounds should be the most expensive, which shows a heavy sort of misunderstanding of how things have gone since. Hardly anyone does gear-focused builds, and items haven't become that important. It also discourages item discounts, which is a bit silly in light of all of the above, especially when items can be important, mandatory (in canon) or useful for the background.

Well, recently I took an evil Cryst-Fairy with me into Bravely Default. But because of mind shenanigans I couldn't remember why I brought her with me in the first place.
But I figured I HAD to have had a reason. So instead of murdering the fuck out of her like I shoulda done, I punched her and beat her down with giant kitsune lasers until Aggregate Psychotherapy kicked in and Ouroboros had been defeated by the protagonists, and then I invited her along with me on the rest of the jumpchain. And I kindof talked a lot of shit about how one day far in the future I'd be even stronger than Ouro. And I even sorta kinda offered to take her to the celestial realm when the chain was finally over.

So now I've got this weirdly loyal evil fairy pupa thing following me around who thinks destroying the world is an awesome idea and I don't even know what to do with her. Do... do I try to fix her? Do I brainwash her to be good? Or do I just ride this crazy yandere train as far as it can go? What the hell do I do here?

So say you take Raildex in your first 40 jumps, number 42 or something. You don't get to jump A Certain Magical Index until right before, or nearly right before, your finale jump.

It's not in either write up, but the jump creator has stated as much a couple of times.

Right, just spent I dunno how many hours explaining this in IRC, but I figure you guys ought to know what's after Killing Bites (which is coming soon).

Alien vs Predator.
The plan is, you wake up in a Xenomorph hive. After some hijinks and stuff whereupon you find 1,000 CP in a chestbursted sucker's pocket, you come to the big choice. Choose between three factions:

-Colonial Marine (Choosing this, you wind up joining a crew of hardened individuals who recognize you as their leader - don't ask me for details if you look clearly abhuman. Fanwank it.)

-Yautja (Predators) (Apparently at some point you impressed this group - Look I'm still working on this gimme some time)

-Xenomorphs (Oh look! You're a Hybrid like Eloise from the Aliens EU, and can command groups of xenos up to Praetorian caste - with room for improvement).

After your choice, you go through several lists of Perks and Equipment exclusive to each faction (take the form of mutations). After that, small list for each faction of dedicated discounted stuff. As in, you can get this if you're another faction, but you get a discount of you're of the specified one (example: being a Yautja and buying an item from this list for Marines).

After that? Larger list of cheaper perks and shit (like, we're talking the most expensive here is 200 CP, tops). And then finally the goal: Claim the planet you're on for your faction (unless you take a drawback I have planned).

If you have ANY:
Throw them at me. This is gonna take a while, and unfortunately for my demand-to-try-and-not-draw-from-other-jumps issue, this is gonna take slightly after LoT.

However, I am resurrecting a bit of a mechanic for Xenos. Egg-morphing. Basically a victim is trapped to the Hive web, and actively warped by the webbing into a Facehugger egg.

Now, if you WANT to become a Queen? There will be several options to do so. I'll let you use lore to figure them out.

Way ahead of you. Although the big deal with the Xenomorph castes is that they require different victims. A bit of tinkering is allowed however.

As part of the initial challenge of claiming the planet?

You roll 3d8 + 5. For the number of Xenomorph hives.

And then you roll a 1d8 for each Hive after that. What for?

1-2: Regular Xenomorph Queen.

3-4: Empress - A xenomorph queen who controls two other hives on top of her own (so add a +2 to the end Hive count).

5-6: Queen Mother - A Xeno whose facehuggers can implant five individuals, and each chestburster grows into a Queen that's loyal to the Mother.

7-8: Predalien.

Well yeah, I can understand the point of it but now I'm just expecting the xenomorph guy to add like Hitler DNA or something over the top.

Yeah, just so long as-

Yeah we can be friends.

I suggest the magic of orbital bombardment.

Oh! Are we posting our personal ships now?

I don't bring it with me, but I do have it built every once in a while when I'm somewhere scifi-ey.

I DO bring along one one of these glorious bastards from Halo though.

Good! Now only one question remains: cleansing fire of lance fire, the boom of macro batteries, or the sheer "fuck you potential" of nova cannons?
I'd like something as sort of an expeditionary unit with science and weapons. But I also like red and mono-eye mobile suits so...

>> No.37790269

Wouldn't that be a little uncomfortable in the void of space?

>> No.37790273

It was more of a placeholder until I can get a ship that better matches the description for the one I got from Outlaw Star.

When it comes down to it, I find that there is llittle more satisfying than the thermal trail of a railgun.

Gotta love MAC rounds.

>Hybridize the Xenomorphs with Zerg and Chryssalids.
>Hybridize the resulting abominations into Kaiju.
>Give them Marvel Symbiotes as weapons/armor/allies.
>Make them all asymptomatic carriers Blacklight of the Blacklight virus.
>Unleash them all on Mars and let them assimilate the Johj.

Yes you forgot Nids

You forgot French-Canadian language pack support.

You forgot Flood
And Hybridizing Blacklight and the T-Virus
Also you need to toss the end result at the Nids

>> No.37790419

Yeah, personally I lean towards nova cannons after making suitably grandiose speeches but most of my jump includes disassembling alien technology and then building super weapons like a giant conversion beamer that converts continents into anti-matter or a D-cannon capable of teleporting cities into the warp.
>Spend whole life making super xeno-morphs.
>About to unleash them onto unsuspecting humanity.
>Forget to poke holes in the xenomorph boxes.
>Dump a bunch of dead super xenomorph corpses.
>Flee as everyone laughs at you.

>> No.37790420

Oh fuck messing with those. I'd love the ability to revive and manipulate dead flesh like they do, even as the one splicing all this other stuff, I am not going near marker indoctrination.

>> No.37790468

>Making super xenomorphs that need to breath
Seriously? That's scrub-tier.

>> No.37790499

They also need love and light and you put them into boxes. They need plenty of care!

For those of you not going to 40k
>Toss in the DNA of Namekians and Freiza's species

>> No.37790507

A number of the things we have talked about combining don't need to breath.

>> No.37790510

How do you expect to get scary foggy breath and heavy growling/breathing noises without breathing? It's like I'm mentoring a henchman or something!

>> No.37790515

Necromorphs form Dead Space.

I didn't include them because they're only available in either Light of Terra or 40K, which are both end jumps. Although, I suppose they're the only things that can really pull it all together, since if I remember correctly, they're essentially a biological version of the Borg.

I don't want to make them undead, that just would just fuck up everything in the long run.

>> No.37790529

Just don't feed them after midnight. Also probably want to avoid getting them wet.

>> No.37790539

LoT doesn't have to be an end jump.

>> No.37790540

Light of Terra doesn't have to be the end. You also forgot Commoragh.

>> No.37790547

Light of Terra isn't an end jump, at least it doesn't have to be. Also Commorragh is a jump all on it's own that is not an end jump.

>> No.37790554

Make them capable of breathing, but not have the need to do so.
Like, they have lungs, and they breath instinctively
But they don't actually need Air to survive

>> No.37790565

Like the Gand?

>> No.37790568

You just give them an air sac in their abdomen linked to their mouth, with no actual lung tissue in there. It's not complicated, man.

>> No.37790579

Ah yes, I forgot. Thanks for reminding me.

>> No.37790672

No, see I wouldn't be worry about the breathing. I'd be worrying about the aesthetics. Think about it. You spend a lot of time making your super xenomorph 3000 stomach annihilators and you test them out on assuming colonial marines and instead of making breather sounds they keep saying "Spaghett!" and failing to spook people. It'd be awful!
