Mostly into rping fantasy these days. I haven't had a group in a few months now since I lost my job and moved across the country. Because of my unemployment status I am looking for work and as such my schedule might need to change. Though I am mostly looking for jobs that are in the normal 9-5 range.

Yo! I'm a GM looking for players interested in Sentai games with lighter more narrative mechanics!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/accysyzip06p8uc/HeroWorldBeta.pdf

Currently we're aiming for Saturdays and we'll be gaming on IRC. Just e-mail me here if you're interested! I have 3 potential players and I'd like at least two more!

The game itself will basically be people making their own team of heroes apart of a typical 5 man band as they go around and fight monsters of the week. I expect it to be pretty fun!

I'm willing to try any ruleset. I'm primarily interested in stock fantasy games, or fantasy with a twiiist.

GMT+10. Best time for me would be 5-11pm Sunday or Monday. That's the time when I will be available consistently. Other times I may or may not be able to make it every week, as I work effectively on call.

Regarding Fate Accelerated games: as long as the setting is interesting, I'm cool with it, regardless of genre. I do favour a serious tone, however, since I find it easier to get invested in serious games. This preference wouldn't stop me from playing and enjoying lighthearted games, though.

I'd much rather be a player.

I'm up for playing just about anything. Recently, I've really wanted to play Fantasy Craft.

I live in -6 GMT.

I prefer text, but I suppose voice is alright if we can figure a proper voice chat program.

You can contact me on Skype at 'this.is.dumb.as.all.hell'

I really enjoy roleplaying, and would like to play such games with some like-minded fellows.

Player here, representing a GM who has much less time to dick around on the Internet than I do.

The game is Rogue Trader, and we're looking for one or two players to fill in for players that have failed to show up to campaign.

We've gotten a little ways in already, we have a bigass space ship, a planetary system we're in the early stages of colonizing, an Inquisitor who we may or may not have gotten possessed by an AI, and may possibly be planning to kill us all, and an infestation of Orks who are trying to convert our system's inner asteroid belt into Roks with which to destroy all our other colonies.

Currently, we've all just hit level 4, so you'd be starting midway up the level tree, more or less.

We have a RT (me), a Void Master, a Seneschal, and an Arch-Militant. We'd prefer not to double up on character types, but that shouldn't be a problem, since Techpriests and Astropaths are usually popular classes.

(Personally, I'd like to play with a good Missionary, I've never seen anyone pull it off well)

We play at 1pm EST, usually for 3 or 4 hours, on Sundays. We use Skype to coordinate out of game, and Roll 20 in game.

The number one thing is reliability. We value it very highly.
If you need to learn the rules, we'll teach you. If you need help with character ideas, we'll work through them with you. If you've got a rational head on your shoulders but don't know how to roleplay, we'll help you however we can if you're willing to listen.

The one thing we can't help you with is showing up to the game sessions, and we don't have the time to deal with flaky players. If you don't feel you can make the session, please don't waste your time and ours.

If this is all acceptable to you, my skype id is in the email field, and I look forward to talking to you. When you send me a skype friend request, make sure you include that you saw this post so i know why you're messaging me, or I won't accept your invite.

casual GM out for the fun of it. have a few ideas I could run, but mainly looking for one of three ideas
>finalizing playtesting Gobblin', a homebrew revolving around players as stupid, violent, and/or cowardly goblins, who have been banished from their realm to a post-apocalypse Earth (which they love)
>Macho Man Randy Savage Force. players are all a member of a mercenary team of Macho Man Randy Savages hired to save the president from mummies, but then shit gets real
>Rock Lords. cyberpunkish adaptation of Monsters and Other Childish Things. players live in an oppressive dystopian future where they do the forbidden by forming the first rock/metal band in a century. the government tries bringing them down however they can, since rock music and band bonds summon magical monsters that they command as while they play

also trying to put together ideas and find a system for Cocklords, a straight low-fantasy game akin to Game of Thrones or LotR... except every single thing and person possible is named after a synonym for penis, and nobody addresses it. the game itself just being a dick joke and a contest to keep a straight face throughout. but for later...

Yeah, your old DM was bullshitting you. All you really need to read is the player handbook, and you honestly can skim through the parts you don't need for your character. From personal experience, games like DnD and Pathfinder are much easier to learn from experience than by reading everything; once you get your feet wet, it will start to make sense.

Hell, in pathfinder's case you don't even need to read the book. Google Pathfinder SRD, click on Character Creation, and do what it says. After that, all you need to read is the page for your character's class, the racial traits for your race (which takes like 2 seconds), and then the only "hard" part is finding feats to use. Hell, if you're using mythweavers the sheet even does the math for you.

Don't let one retarded DM scare you away from an entire system, it sounds to me more like he wanted you to read the player handbook, the bestiary, and the dungeon master handbook, two of which you only really need if you're the GM.

ehhh, 3.x D&D is sort of like a 20 year old honda that you've drove to work every week. It was your first car, it was exciting, you were very fond of her for a long time, but over time its accumulated alot of junk in the trunk, stains on the seats, empty cans and fast food wrappers all over the floor. Every time you look know you she clean it, and you try, but its just so much crap only for it to get dirty again. The engine makes this funny bumping sounds and ya' know what the problem is, but fixing it would require overhauling the engine, and lets face it, the frame on this thing isnt built to handle more economical electric engines and just doesn't have the room for a more robust diesel powered work horse; not that it has the room to really haul anything anyways. Its top speed is shit, it cant fit in alot, and it doesnt go as far as the other cars on the road for the same amount of gas.

So why do you come back to it? because its familure. Its not great, but its good enough to get you where your going. It cant fit much but there is enough room for your friends, even if they have to squeeze. it cant pull the amazing feats other systems can, but it still a method of transportation. Its cheap, its common, and your use to it.

I'm traveling deep in the middle of a forest and survey my surroundings. Quite a beautiful sight of vegetation to behold, much like the paintings by masters of old dazzling with brilliant shades of blue and green.

After traveling further, the mouth to a dark cave of a mountain comes into sight behind a thicket. I could not decipher the mysterious runes etched around pitch-black opening, though it felt as if there was a mysterious power imbued within them.

Many dark green vines were strewn all along the inside of the cave and on the ground.

How suspicious...

I draw out my sword and attempt to strike down the runes. Not a mark was left on the area of impact and the runes emit a pale glow.

Very suspicious indeed...

Nevertheless, I won't be able to call myself an adventurer if I don't adventure in. After I sheath my sword I proceed into the cave bathed in darkness.

After a short walk in, I reach a bend in the path and light a torch to improve vision.

The warm orange light from the torch reveals a tremendous space and a stairwell leading along the side of a gigantic trench. I hear a small noise behind me and I snap back to see only the dark green vines.

I swear one of those damn things moved. Must've been the tricky shadows...Though a little spooked, I make my way to the stairwell and descend.

>> No.32293954

>>32293927
It takes a while but I finally reach the bottom of the stairs to a clearing where I can rest easily. Though before I can do so, I trip on a dark green vine. The torch slips from my hands and goes out. Damn vines.

I blindly crawl towards where my torch rolled off to and firmly grasp it with my left hand. I rekindle the flame. Oh hey were there this many dark green vines befoooOORRREEE--!

Multiple vines grab out and restrict my movement. While struggling I manage to free both arms and take out my sword with my right hand. Hack and Slash. Hack and Slash.

Most of the vines get torn off, freeing more of my movement but other vines slither over to take their place. Getting desperate, I wildly flail my arms around and every time the vines shrink back from my left arm. I get a revelation.

They fear the torch.

Burn, burn, let it BURN. With the torch I manage to keep the vines off me and I slash off the ones restricting my legs. Holding my torch behind, I run deeper into clearing. After a few minutes I check to see if they’re still following behind me.

Great, not a dark green vine in sight. This torch is fantastic. I’m glad I got out of that bind, but where am I now?

I look around to find myself in what looks like a temple hallway of ancient Gothic architecture. It was certainly massive with towering stone pillars around as thick as I am tall.

>> No.32293980

>>32293954
A long distance ahead the hallway ends with a huge wooden door. Everything looks really worn out with age but it’s clear that when this hallway was first built, it would have certainly been a marvelous spectacle.

I slowly walk down the hall to reach the end and open the dry wooden door to find two glowing lights awaiting in the blackness.

They’re moving around and appear to be growing bigger.

A brown mass emerges with a grunt and a few thuds. The frame of a large horned beast three times my size appears wielding a gigantic axe. An unfriendly looking Minotaur.

The color drains from my face.

I slam the wooden door shut and flee. Not a moment too soon, the Minotaur bursts down the wooden door with a roar that makes me as well as the ceiling tremble. I quickly put out my torch and hide behind a stone pillar. Thank goodness for this huge architecture.

Sniff, sniff. The Minotaur sniffs the air and moves towards my direction.

My anxiety shoots straight to the ceiling as certain death approaches. What am I going to do? I can’t fight something that massive and that thing will catchup if it comes down to an extended chase.

Sniff, sniff. The Minotaur sniffs the air.

I squeeze my eyes shut and put my hands on my face. At least I lived a good life with few regrets. I have to run for hallway beyond the wooden door and pray for a miracle. I move my hands away and the torch pokes me in the eye.

I make the happiest smile possible.

>> No.32294008

>>32293980
I take up a rock that fell from the ceiling and throw it far off to my side as a distraction. The Minotaur looks away and I take the moment to rush past while I light my torch.

The Minotaur realizes where I am and spins around. But not before I reach the door.

Before I make it past the door, I splash the wooden door with torch oil and light it aflame as I dive into the doorway.

I dust myself off and turn around to greet the Minotaur with the biggest shit-eating grin I could muster. Damn I really love my torch.

The Minotaur roars at me behind the burning door and I take it as my cue to get going. I make hastily make my way down the hallway.

So I've got this idea. What if someone put together something like the West Marches campaign? For those unfamiliar with it, the West Marches was a type of 'hexcrawl' game someone documented. I'll greentext the important, relevant bits.

>No overarching BBEG- the obstacles and challenges faced by the PC's are facts of frontier life, the challenges of a borderland.
>Every session started and ended in the central city.
>Random Encounter tables tailored to surrounding areas, and did not scale with player level. The closer to the city, the lower level monsters you could expect to run into.

The guy who ran the original did a 'first come first serve' thing. There were dozens of players, but the party rotated fairly regularly session to session.

So what's my idea? Well. I could set up a forum and IRC/Roll20 campaign. Collaboratively, we would build an area- the main city together, then everyone would build an area around the city, fill it with dungeons and Random Encounter tables. Everyone would have a rough idea what other areas held, but only really know about the area they themselves made.

Rotate GM's and follow the guidelines 'start and end in the city'. Dungeon delve forever and ever, good fun by all.

So thoughts? Am I tremendous faggot?
