Nope, they're soldiers, not missionaries. Their job is to defend the Ecclesiarchy and its interests. So that means holy crusades, protecting shrines and purging heretics. The preaching is mostly left to the clergy.

Two reasons. Firstly, that's how they started out. The SoB originated from an all-female cult on a fairly primitive world. And they stayed that way when Goge Vandire recruited them.

Secondly, after the Age of Apostasy, the Decree Passive forbid the Ecclesiarchy from having men under arms. But as the Sisters were women under arms, they were exempt and the Ecclesiarchy was able rules lawyer its way into retaining a military force.

We don't know, depends on the Living Saint. Some might not really be all that magical, but Celestine didn't seem to be a psyker before she became full-magical, so she could be gettingn her power some other way. Perhaps through the combined faih of the Sororitas.

Am I the only one who hates long-haired warriors? All the talk about the common hairstyle got me thinking, and I can't get over the thought of a SoB being grabbed by their long hair by a space marine and swung around for hairesy.
