[ERROR] No.28477990 [DELETED]  [Reply] [Original] [4plebs] [archived.moe]

Dec. 21st, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 12 PM and 9 PM - the light of the Astronmican flickers and dims; contact is lost with the furthest reaches of the Imperium.
Dec. 24th, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 1:30 AM and 10:15 AM - a ripple in the warp activates millions, if not billions, of latent psykers across the Imperium, and causes uncounted daemonic incursions.
Dec. 25th, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 12 PM and 9 PM - critical, irrepairable flaws in the Golden Throne are detected.
Dec. 25th, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 9 PM and 6 AM on the 26th - Necrons are detected within 2000 LY of Earth.
Dec. 27th, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 5 PM and 2 AM on the 28th - "The Night of a Thousand Rebellions". Countless worlds throughout the Imperium rise up in rebellion. Contact with the Eastern segment of the Imperium is lost entirely.
Dec. 28th, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 2 AM and 11 AM - The sheer volume of distress signals and cries for help causes the Astropathic relay network to collapse.
Dec. 28th, 40,999 AD, between the hours of 7:00 PM and 4 AM on the 29th - The 13th Black Crusade launches from the Eye of Terror.

So, given the amount of shit going down in one very bad week for the Imperium (not including the ongoing Hive Fleet invasion, various xenos going apeshit, and innumerable quagmire crusades), how does the Imperium survive long enough to publish the Cain Archives over 127 years after this closing week of M41?

The Last Hope pulled through at the final hour and saved the galaxy. The Outcast, the Starstrider, the Shadow who walks between worlds, the Great Ranger, Illic Nightspear has stopped the Rhanda Dandra from happening.

Soon after, he transcends this plane of existence and fades into legend. Thousands of years later, myth cycles still sing him as the greatest and noblest of the Eldar heroes.

They won on Carnac, but that's not important.

What is important is getting a Necron novel with an actual Necron perspective. It's frustrating to me that they gave the Necrons personality but haven't been bothered to explore it and develop upon it.

Interesting character backgrounds, quirks, and traits. All that's missing is character development!

I bought the carnac books because they won there and it had a lot of the named characters in it, according to the necron codex. Boy was I happy when it was all from the eldar perspective! Orikan telling Starbane to eat his jorts was almost worth it.

The only thing you ever need to know about what Illic is: harlequins strongly dislike his activities.

>> No.28503707

>>28503615
Yes, I noted that when I re-read the novel.

Harlequins seem to want to stop him from his quest. They bar his path and oppose him.

They will go so far as killing him and his followers. Why would the Harlequins do such a thing? I can only guess.

>> No.28504360

>>28503707
Because he could be a false messiah you know.
Two things about harlequins:
- They know the threat of necrons very well.
- They work to preserve renmants of eldar race.
If Illic is truely important for this they will help him.
Get him into Black Library and other.
But they didn't while it was so even with a bunch of usefull humans not to say about eldar.
Why?
Because he could not be the thing what he and alaitocii think him to be.
And if it's so harlequins seem to know this.
And that possibility of his death by hands of harlequins is probably what will happen if his shit will get too far.
He is unharmed to this point because harlequins never intervene in craftworlders life without a drastic need.

>> No.28504625

>>28504360
It's possible that the Harlequins want Illic stopped for one reason. They want the Rhana Dandra to happen. They desire this doom for the Eldar, for the Phoenix must die before it can be reborn.

Thousands of years of planning would be cast down, their mad vision of an Eldar rebirth will never come to pass. All because of that Outcast.

>Because he could not be the thing what he and alaitocii think him to be.

Crobh Dreg of Biel-Tan, who sings of a future where the Eldar Empire is restored, saw the hope that the Nightspear represents.

Alaitoc is not alone in believing in him.

>He is unharmed to this point because harlequins never intervene in craftworlders life without a drastic need.

It's implied that the hands of Illic and his followers are stained with the blood of the Harlequins. They are already in conflict. This is very interesting. The clashing of Prophecy and Action, Hope and DOOM!

Only one will prevail. Only one hope of salvation will prove true for the Eldar, and I bet that it will be Illic Nightspear!

That's your choice, but know that the Harlequins could be leading the Eldar to their final doom. Don't be so certain!

>Who has departed form Biel-Tan because he(she?) is too softspined to be a proper warrior.

She is the hidden hand of Biel-Tan on Carnac following the careful plans of her Craftworld. Plans for an Empire restored.

Plans that included Illic.

>>Oh please. The best combat force of both craftworlds and de against a bunch of webway hobos.

>underestimating the Starstriders and their lord who walks the hidden path

Illic yet lives and continues his quest despite the hindrance and meddling of the Harlequins. They can not stop the ''Last Hope''.

One more thing to add.

I think Yriel, being a former Outcast himself, would have also believed in the hope and salvation Illic heralds. Sadly, the Harlequins have their claws into him now and that will never be.

Yriel, Iyanna, and now Illic. What a clusterfuck of hope. Indeed, I imagine the Seerstones are the Tears Iyanna is collecting, Illic might drop by to pick them up. That's are getting interesting really fast.

The SOB book about the reclaiming of Sanctuary 101 had a Necron point of view in several areas.

They were honestly less inhuman than the Mechanicus characters in a lot of areas. Though that had a lot to do with the Mechanicus trying desperately NOT to feel those puny fleshy emotions, while the necrons reveled in the moments when they managed to actually FEEL something as it was important to them.
