26891818 No.26891818 [Reply] [Original] [4plebs] [archived.moe]

"That drunk guy who sounds a tad like Vegeta when he's mad" returns!

Voice acting thread. Lets get some actors and scripts in here.

>> No.26891829

By the way, sorry I've been gone so long. I had a night shift factory job for a while and got a new girl in the middle of it. It chewed up all of my time.

>> No.26891912

Here's a bit of what I've done, to get things going.

>> No.26891933

you're kiddo, dead.

10/10 brety gud

>> No.26891956

Since you liked that here's a bit I did as a villain of a person's game who was a child torturing warlock tutoring an apprentice.

Be forewarned, it's a bit dark.

>> No.26892050

I'm intending to use this line for a nigh-invulnerable supervillain BBEG the players have been pursuing. A mastermind-type who is also a brutal melee brick.

"Fear is merely the anticipation of pain.

Be Afraid."

>> No.26892066

Give me a minute and I'll see what I can do. My mic is giving me a lot of static even though it's never done it before.

>> No.26892080

Maybe the fans are whirring?

>> No.26892100

and here's another more composed in case that's what you need.

The fan nearby has never caused problems. I should try shutting it off to check, though.

>> No.26892110

If you need something a bit different just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

>> No.26892117

computer fans, I meant

Audio recording takes a lotta power, iirc

>> No.26892126

Oh, that's not a problem. I think it may actually be the house fan near me, though.

>> No.26892157

By the way, if the recording works, let us know. If it doesn't work, let us know.

We'll do all we can to get you what you need and we love to hear that we did well. It helps us keep going.

>> No.26892178

Also by them ways: I'm drunk as hell. Toss me any script. You saw the Warlock bit I did. Nothing is too weird.

>> No.26892188

I actually did an opening monologue for someone's FATAL game. I just love voice acting.

>> No.26892235

Composed was better, this guy's personality has been established to be ice-cold.

If you would, I'd like to hear it more sinister, but not in a sadistic way. In his mind, he's simply explaining the hard fact that the PC's are in over their heads, and he wants them to know it beyond a doubt. He's justifiably composed and confident... for now!

Which is a lot to squeeze into 9 words, I know.

>> No.26892236

>> No.26892245

>Which is a lot to squeeze into 9 words.

That stuff does certainly work better as long bits. I'll see what I can do, though.

>> No.26892261

No pressure, no matter what the players are gonna understand what's going on. It's weird, they picked up on this guy's personality instantaneously, and loved him for it.

Which was strange because normally they're just like "A villain is talking? IGNORE AND PUNCH!" But it's a good strange, I'm happy with it.

>> No.26892264

Just as a header note, I don't listen to these before posting. I hate hearing myself. Here's a few different takes, though. The last one has a bit extra tacked on.

>> No.26892308

I have a few more for you to help them get into character better. Feel free to give more direction so I can hopefully get just what you need.

>> No.26892321

I really like the stuff you tacked on to the last one. Didn't change the message, but it gave you more room to work with, and it worked well.

10/10, Gold Star, slow clap! Russian Judge: 2

>> No.26892336

I don't like how I said "you should be afraid" on that last take. Here's a bit more on it.

If you want more expansion I can try. I can't write much when this drunk, though.

>> No.26892404

I'll shoot you all straight: I'm drunk and in the middle of a depressive episode. I'd love a chance to talk and do some lines. I'll take any script right now just to have something to do.

>> No.26892411

I'm really quite happy with what you've posted

The BBEG isn't known for long speeches or otherwise flashy stuff- very to the point, in word and deed. If I expand it much more, it'll lose a lot of the impact of the "Final Boss Speech" being a sentence or two, and then just a nasty, nasty fight.

>> No.26892434

I can understand that. If you have a strict script you need let me know and I'll work on it until you like it.

>> No.26892437

One I like to ask for in /co/ threads is the opening to samurai jack!

Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!

>> No.26892438

I know I'm kind of "running" the thread as OP and actor, but it's actually about the people with scripts. Don't feel bad about telling us something is wrong.

>> No.26892444

Oh my dawg and new friend. I don't need a video or lyrics for that. That's one of the greatest shows to ever hit television.

I just need to know if you need it in Mako's voice, because I can't quite do that. I can hopefully give you a pretty fun version, though.

>> No.26892470

Oh no, do it in your own style for sure

Mako is Mako

>> No.26892489

I feel like I beefed it a time or two, but I don't listen to things before posting and only do one take unless I bone it hard. I hope you like it.

>> No.26892507

>mako is mako

I want to be mako too! Only not dead ;_;

>> No.26892520

I'm glad we've got another voice in here.

Also, great job. Sounds fantastic.

>> No.26892525

Aww yiss

If anyone else does this they will have my undying love and admiration

>> No.26892536

I tried again in a bit more of a demonic voice, but I'm pretty sure that the other guy that did it topped me on both of my tries.

>> No.26892539

Thanks dood

I just wish my laptop fans weren't a thing

>> No.26892547

Whatever, you both can have my undying love and admiration

It can be a dirty threesome of undying love

That's kinky, yo

>> No.26892551

Head to GameStop and get a used RockBand microphone. They're usually about $5 and are pretty amazing microphones for this stuff.

They DO need a wind screen, though. You can get them dirt cheap in almost any music store or usually get by with a really thick sock.

I hope to see you in more voice threads. I hope they're still common since I've had some pretty hard stuff going on and haven't been able to be around much.

>> No.26892557

Uhhhh...man, I'm glad you liked it, but I really don't want to have a threesome with Me, another dude, and Me. I'm very not into that.

>> No.26892589

I haven't seen as many here recently it seems. Not many scripts, I guess? But I may just have to get that microphone...

>> No.26892594

pssh, your loss

>> No.26892602

I'll see what I can do to get them going now that I'm back. I hope to find the other actors again. They were fun.

It's really not. I've got me a lady and she's amazing. And I'm not into dudes, so it's all working out well.

>> No.26892646

The chorus from "Be a man?"

We must be swift as the coursing river,
With all the force of a great typhoon,
With all the strength of a raging fire,
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

>> No.26892692

>> No.26892703

And here it is like I'm trying to get troops ready for battle.

>> No.26892746

Haha, awesome

Inspirational one was good, but nowhere near as classic as the singing one

>> No.26892766

>> No.26892779

Few things are funner to everyone else but the singer than a drunk singer trying to do something they're not used to.

>> No.26892841

I don't know why, but people rave about my voice. I was at a party a while back and they got me to read out Morgan Freeman quotes saying my voice was awesome. I've also had people tell me I have the voice of a news anchor. This is me reading the blurb of The Tower, I want a third party's opinion of my voice

>> No.26892857

I've got my speakers and Vocaroo to max but can barely hear this.

>> No.26892865

Weird script, my friend.

>> No.26892866

yeah, my mic is pretty shit but it's all I've got

>> No.26892882

very funny

>> No.26892901

I'm guessing you're using a laptop.

Try a Rock Band mic. They're like $5 or a friend probably has one they aren't using anymore. It'll help out a lot.

I wish I could help more, but I couldn't hear you very well.

>> No.26892902

>> No.26892967

Nice job. I hope we'll hear you in future threads.

You'll need to grab a better mic, though. You've got a lot of buzz going on.

We had this discussion already

>> No.26892997

I'm drunk as hell and doing a few vocal threads. My bad, my friend. It's really hard to keep track of right now.

>> No.26893014

To be fair, I just wanted to post Mr. Shyamalan

>> No.26893041

Cool by me. He's comedy gold no matter how he shows up.

>> No.26893051

Anyone have any scripts? I'd like to read something soon.

>> No.26893068

yeah....you sound average, not really bad. Just average.

>> No.26893086

I'm sure he knows that, but we're here to work on getting better.

This thread is completely open to people who just want to give it a shot. I'll do all I can to help anyone along.

>> No.26893099

ok then how bout giving some tips to get better.

>> No.26893103

Oh, you mean like the "get a bit louder so I can hear it better" bit?

I need to be able to hear it well to help. And I hope he can because it sounds like he could have potential.

>> No.26893339

>> No.26893551

Any more scripts out there?

>> No.26893612

I've never done this, but I sure am willing to try if anyone has any requests.

>> No.26893624

Can someone just yell "Crow" really long and loud, with hate?

>> No.26893653

I would, but it's 3:35AM here. Apartments, dawg.

>> No.26893662

I didn't know how long you needed it.

>> No.26893690

My attempt

>> No.26893712

This is another anon's attempt.

This is one of the coolest ones in here to do, I think. I love doing the stoic villain type.

>> No.26893720

Just yanking your chain.

>> No.26893722

I actually really like this! Although I'm not sure how much is down to your mic.

>> No.26893735

Yup, well. Look at the guy's description. Cold villain that's also a melee powerhouse? How could anyone resist?

>> No.26893742 [DELETED]

>> No.26893751

Another take for this one, goddamn this one's fun.

>> No.26893754

How did you like that take?

>> No.26893759

>> No.26893761

Beautiful. It's one thing to tell my players someone's yelling at them, and another to play any of these.

>> No.26893763

Need something more than just "Crow?"

>> No.26893769

Oops. I actually meant to link one that I did, which has now vanished into the ether. Never mind.

>> No.26893772

And I thought you were just particularly impressed by my take. ;_;

>> No.26893792

Alright /tg/

Get your game faces on.
I want.

"This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively. But, if sweetness can win - and it can - then I'll still be here tomorrow, to embrace you, yesterday, my friend. Peace"

Sound a bit unhinged, but you speak great truths. I've stolen it from Adventure Time, and now I'm having a Nurgle seer spout it out. Make it good elegan/tg/entlemen.

>> No.26893798

Coincidentally, I did like it. Chin up, friend.

>> No.26893802

I'm a fellow /tg/ native. I've got it incoming, if you've got some more character descriptor words.

Could someone please read:

"It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor of Mankind has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the vast Imperium of Man for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day so that he may never truly die.Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in His name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat to humanity from aliens, heretics, mutants -- and far, far worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

In their best setting appropriate voice?

>> No.26894324

oh oh i got one.

"HAHOHAHA i didnt need any of you alive anyways"
