The Internet loves to assume the worst when it comes to the Sisters. However, Jervis Johnson said just recently that they were definitely in the works. Start collecting slowly for now, and you'll have an update eventually.

Sisters aren't the Black Tempars. Templars were really just a Marine variant, Sisters are not a variant of anything.

Why would they do finecast rereleases?

Part of the reason sisters are probably taking so long is because they're getting a release like DE.

>> No.26671280

>people will still buy them

No they won't. That's the problem in the first place. Nobody was buying an expensive, all metal, limited pose army. Nobody will by an even more expensive, shitcast, limited pose army either.

If they don't go big with new releases to get people excited they might as well not bother.

>> No.26671434

Wanting SoB and wanting an entire army of the same 3 pose metal minis is not the same thing. This has already been established years ago.

The amount of people who would buy finecast Sisters is incredibly low and GW stores are already hurting for shelf space which is the entire reason SoB were removed in the first place. It would be a waste of time for all concerned.

Might as well just buy some recasts.

>> No.26672811

Post your wishlist for SoB release

Plastic Battle Sister kit (obviously).
Plastic Celestian kit with new CCW/PW + suppression shield option. Also hopefully some extra/different armour bling to differentiate them.
New biker sisters unit plastic kit.

Also every kit needs enough helmets to give everyone a helmet. And heads with respirators.

>> No.26673135

canoness with command squad bitches, 2A, power weapons, bolters, 2+ armour and specialists, basically make them cheaper S/T3 marine honour guard

celestians with power weapons/suppression shields, basically replacing crusaders but with more attacks

dwarf slayer bitches (lolpentia) having rage, 2 attacks, feel no pain, furious charge, basically death company with no armour and eviscerators

battle sisters cheap and shitty with 2 special or heavy weapons per 10, max of 20 strong, WS4/BS4 baseline, 11pts but free sister superior who can take power weapons, combi-flamer/melta

seraphim same as now, they're actually a good unit

retributors/dominions made the same unit and staying fast attack, heavy flamers or meltas only though coz fuck you, heavy support slot is full of other shit

flyer is good enough, keep it fast and it's okay

penitent engines squadroned, remaining shitty spammable things like killa kans

exorcist is fine too, maybe make an anti-flyer version or give it optional skyfire

tack in zealots as a cheap meatshield spam unit for troops (10-30, redemptor priest, few flamers in there, eviscerator on leader)

make chick-priests available, basically being like chaplains so you don't need current shitty preachers unless you want to model them that way

entire army massively cheaper, faith points made unlimited but each unit can only use one act of faith per turn and if you fail the test tough shit

make it a leadership test and add +1 if anyone in that squad has died earlier, let certain units get re-rolls or automatically pass it under x condition or some shit i dunno

army gets adamantium will all around and preferred enemy (psyker)

acts of faith should last that phase only and be things like:

all weapons get rending

preferred enemy (everything)

rallies instantly, fearless

save becomes invulnerable

>> No.26673191

>entire army massively cheaper

I think if nothing else you can count on this. Every release everything gets point costs reduced so everyone has to buy more models.

>> No.26673365

This. I doubt they'll just re-release the old poses, that wouldn't get as many buys as properly updated ones. I think we're in for a Dark Eldar-esque overhaul, that way they can hype it up more and thus rake on more cash. And I sure would be shovelling cash into their maw if we got usable plastics.

>> No.26673414

Are you prepared for SoB to be as FotM as DE were though?

>And I sure would be shovelling cash into their maw if we got usable plastics.
Agreed. I haven't bought any GW products on principal since they implemented the international sales embargo, but I'd drop a ton of money on plastic sisters.

>> No.26673564

Also, lots of deep, expansive fluff. Sisters probably have the most obscure fluff of any army, there's a lot of details to them that the average fan doesn't know about. Ideally, that wold include:

- A history of the Sisterhood. A detailed account of the Age of Apostasy, maybe even some more details about the Sisters while they were still the Daughters on San Leor.
- Stories about famous SoB campaigns. Like the stuff we saw in the WD codex really. A few stories about them being badass and such.
- Some stuff about their role in the Imperium today, like how they work with the Ordo Hereticus and protect the Ecclesiarchy's assets.
- The culture of the Sisters. Stuff like a daily routine, how they co-exist with worlds they're based on. Stuff like that.

Obviously that's quite a bit to ask for, but it would all be interesting stuff to know. A bit of all that sort of stuff would be nice really.

Sisters fluff and designs are good right now, they don't need a complete remake like a shitty army like Dark Eldar (who are still shit, just different).

>> No.26674213

Technically falling to Slaanesh need not be sexual. Keep in mind Slaanesh is also the god of excess, and perfection, two traits which are easy to idolized when living a deeply religious lifestyle.

>> No.26674225

The thing with the fluff us that it's all already there. Their 2e codex had loads of details on them. Just need to bring that stuff back and maybe expand on it a bit.

>> No.26674226

I don't totally agree. They don't need a total rewrite of course, but they could use a bit of fleshing out/new stuff added.

And they unquestionably need a big injection of new model kits.

>> No.26674233

What about the Sisters who fell to the Khorne in the bloodtide story?

>> No.26674238

But you just know that Slaanesh was chosen because it's generally seen as the tits and cocaine god and she probably fell by snorting too much meth off too many cocks. If she ever gets a model she'll probably have some dominatrix shit going. Like, she'll be posed with her heel atop some gagged daemonette or some shit.

>> No.26674249

>> No.26674252

But the thing is that, being deeply indoctrinated devotees who basically keep to themselves when not at war wouldn't give them any real concept of excess, so they can't really be tempted by it very easily.

Khorne, meanwhile, fits quite well. Sisters are all about holy fury and fighting.

Note that I'm not really a fan if Sisters falling in general, just saying that if one god was most likely to be able to influence them, Khorne fits the best.

>> No.26674253

They didn't 'fall'. Falling = choosing to follow Chaos. Getting psychically controlled or possessed is different.

The Imperium has the same answer for all these things (i.e. burn it), but it does differentiate in writing history between those that are warped beyond choice by the Ruinous Powers and those who actively decide to throw their lot in with Chaos.

This. To go into more detail, a minor Order can come about when a detachment from one of the main Orders gets sent out to set somewhere that's fairly distant from their parent Order. Over time, that detachment may develop its own culture, history and traditions and can eventually be considered distinct enough to "break away" from the parent Order, getting their own name and paint scheme. Dunno, seems like a massive discount. They're 17 points at the moment. Why, ahve other codexes had similar reductions?

How do you guys load out your regular Sister squads? Might rethink my list a bit, wondering how others do this.

I really do not want Sisters to end up as a swarm army. They're supposed to be somewhat elite.

But I suppose large point discounts that force you to buy more models is the GW business model now.

>> No.26704294

Think of them as a gap between IG and Marines. Can operate in small/medium squads, but can push towards horde status if you want.

And funnily enough, that's just how they are now. You can field up to 20 Sisters in a squad, the horde option is already present. Just a bit too expensive to be a seirous choice.

The entirety of my SoB. Purchased about 20 sisters, 2 Immolators and a Repressor. The rest was gifted to me along with a mountain of other minis a few months ago. I've only got 15 of them painted so far.

>Has clearly never heard of the Siege of The Fang.

And seriously, this is coming form someone that absolutely despises space wolves and wishes they weren't in the game/fluff at all.....It would take far, -FAR- more than 3 orders of sisters to take The Fang.

>> No.26706084

Were you planning on giving your Sisters scene hair with colour streaks or is it just odd lighting on the front one and the heavy bolter one?

Not a complaint by the way, just an observation.

>> No.26707731

black templars can come in squads of 20

chaos marines can come in squads of 20 (as can some of the cult troops IIRC)

the option is already there to play a horde marine army, it's just pretty shit this edition with the current meta

if more people start going towards hordes of nids and orks after their books are remade, the idea of just having 60+ tactical/devastator/assault marines in a 1500pt game might be fucking op, which means that sisters (who have much of their power) can do the same

>> No.26707879

>> No.26708081

Yeah. The plan is to do colored streaks on characters and special weapon sisters. Color coding to hopefully make them stand out from the others when I'll usually be viewing them from behind.
