Blades are for those who lack the strength to shatter their enemies' bones.

Let's have a smashing weapons thread. Maces, hammers, flails, tetsubos, clubs- whatever you've got. Characters or weapons alone. Let's make this one to be archived.

I mean sure, hammers hurt, but all weapons hurt. They were just better at setting bones than they were at preventing infection.

Sure, they couldn't set bones as well as we can today, but they couldn't do a any medical stuff as well as we can today. It's just that a hammer blow could be fixed up easier than a sword blow. That's why people only really turned to hammers and blunt objects once armour got too good for blades to really affect the guy underneath.

I'd rather take fun sports, I mean Eskrima is nice but it's not like you're gonna carry a stick around. They need to add clauses to the martial art to handle extendable batons for practicality instead of national identity courses, which Eskrima and Kendo shit revolves around.

Among practical street fighting things, you could look up Awud mied. Which is knife fighting for ultimate hardasses, I practiced it by myself in my spare time with guides and movie tutorials. Mainly because no access and fencing, Judo and Karate was taking up most of my time.

Judo is fun and awesome and I recommend it to everyone.

Depends on the quality of the steel. If it's good enough, that's think enough to just be slightly bent after a few swings.

On the other hand, if it's low quality iron, it'll bend, warp, and snap after a few hits, yeah.
