Hey /tg/, it's time for a list thread! I couldn't see one through the catalog view.

Post your 40k/Fantasy/Warma/whatever-other-ge lists here. Also, give advice on better list building, tactics, etc.

Would it be better to drop a Special weapon squad from each platoon and invest in Artillery? I was thinking of blob guard but Artillery may work better (allow for creeping-barrage tactics)

Special Weapon squads in general are underwhelming. Even if you screen them with other squads, it isn't hard for your enemy to focus fire them down. A cover save only goes so far when you've got a 6-man footslogging squad of guardsmen, armed with scary close-range guns that your opponent wants dead.

Artillery is the better option. I recommend Manticores.

The problem I think I may have with Manticores is that they couldn't reliably take out 3+ and 2+ units. I haven't seen their efficiency against vehicles though (I guess S10 is going to hurt regardless of AP)

They're so hilariously point efficient against everything else that it doesn't really matter if they don't pop 3+ armor.

And even against 3+ squads they'll still dump a fucking ton of wounds on the squad if you hit it. They can only pass so many saves.

A good option is to load them up with demo charges and toss them in a valkyrie or vendetta. Fly over the enemy, jump in, and drop three demo charges on the enemy.

Alright, so If I were to drop 1 special weapon squad from each platoon, I could afford 1 manticore and have 100 points to spare.
Dropping all of them leaves me with enough points for 3 manticores and only 40 points left over.

Can melt and entire squad of terminators. They lose 200 points of terminators, you lose 95 points in your SWS, and you still have a vendetta.

I always shy away from 10 man storm trooper squads (they are pricy and harder to deepstrike) but assuming they get the Vendetta, I guess it works.
