[ERROR] No.19846492 [DELETED]  [Reply] [Original] [4plebs] [archived.moe]

So do we know why the Primarchs all landed on human-occuped planets?

Could it be possible that the 'lost' Primarchs landed on, say, an Ork world and the only reason they haven't been found yet is 'cos they're on the largest WAAAGH ever?

>> No.19846558

I like how you think, good sir.

>> No.19846597

>>19846492

Oh shit, even worse.

One of the baby Primarchs landed on the Tau homeworld, he was kept in secrecy and when he grew up he inspired the group known as the Ethereals. Thus Tau society was born.

Would this work? Do the timespans match up?

>> No.19846618

>>19846597
I don't know about the timing, but all primarchs became leaders of whatever planet they were on, and Tau fluff states that when the races that form the tau now were in civil war, 2 ethereals appeared and negotiated peace and formed the tau empire, this could also explain why their records were expunged.

>> No.19846639

Nope, the Tau were, only 2000 years, a bunch of stickchewing savages too busy murdering each other to invent nationhood, let alone do anything important.

10000 years ago they were probably goddamn cavexenos.

Seriously, guys, the Tau are utterly irrelevant outside of a small corner of Segmentum Ultima.

No, no they were not.

This is called 'fan speculation'. Off the internet, it is often called 'filthy lies and stupid assumptions'. You really can't trust a lot of what /tg/ tells you, unless they back it up with references or page numbers.

>> No.19846827

>>19846690
No, they really don't. It's a built-in defense mechanism against things like possession, chaos cults, and genestealer cults. Orks are extremely violent towards anything that does not register on The-Waaagh as 'another ork'. This only ceases to apply when they have nothing else to fight, at which point they resort to in-fighting. Orks DO give a form of "respect" to extremely talented warriors or commanders from other species, but not in way we'd assume they would. That "respect" is more along the lines of acknowledging that this adversary is a worthy opponent. They won't follow them at all, but will view them as a 'nemesis' of sorts and actively throw their forces towards this adversaries army.

There is a *slight* exception however... In the Blood Axe clan. Who work as mercenaries. They still do not follow other non-ork leaders however, and their loyalty lasts only so long as they have something to fight and keep getting sufficient amounts of payment (in the way of weaponry, equipment, and vehicles). But even then, that just keeps them from backstabbing who they're working for.

Orks only follow Orks, as anything else "ain't proppa", or is "a weedy git". Space Marines and Primarchs included.

>> No.19846859

The two lost primarchs and their legions were destroyed by the Space Wolves. As in, they were found, given their legions, and for whatever reason fucked up badly enough to warrant the Emperor sending the Yiffs after them. Each Legion and Primarch was created for a specific purpose. Horus was the Emperors General, Magnus the guy to sit on the Golden Throne (and the 1k Sons to guard him), and Leman Russ and the Yiffs to kill off any Primarchs or Legions (Or any Imperial group that went rogue, but Mehreens specifically). And they are described as having done this twice.

No. He's still not an Ork, and wouldn't make sense unless you throw out half of the ACTUAL fluff regarding the Waaagh energy effect. Orks are hyper violent xenophobiacs. Nurgle worshiping Orks are also green, and they're just as kill-on-sight as any other non-ork army (i.e. Cadians).

>I read a comic about a Talleran Guardsmen who got covered in green goo and da boss Gorgutz thought he was a lanky grot. And they kept him as a pet because he gave good luck to da boyz.

It has been said numerous times on /tg/... The ONLY thing worth reading by Black Library as far as the Orks are concerned, is Deff Skwadron. And "ONLY" cannot be stressed enough. All novels with the Orks, short stories, or other comics usually bland them down, commit horrific fluff-errors, or portray them purely as 'punching-bag antagonist' kill-counts as a shallow attempt to show how "awesome" some super-marine stue is (or other plot-device character).

Deff Skwadron is the only thing from Black Library worth reading.

It's too long to copy here. But everything I said is there. The Space Wolves are the Emperors executioners. They killed two chapters (and Primarchs) before.

Alpharius-Omegon was the last primarch(s) to be found. As he was nicknamed "The Last", all Primarchs had been found before him. By the time of the Horus Heresy, the two missing Primarchs had already been killed off.

On a related note, the reason the names of the 2 missing primarchs, and their legions, are not shown is because their records were stricken from the Imperium. That much is a nod to the Roman Legions thousands of years ago, who when destroyed were also stricken from all records (in a way of saying "Rome has never lost a legion").

It has however become customary to use the 2-missing legions as a convenient hole to fill with custom home-brew legions.

The records after the Heresy, when the Emperor was now being hailed as a god, show them as "excommunicated", a generally religious term and showed them as things to be hated.

Prior to that, the records were secular, and the Emperor didn't want evidence of his own turning against him, so rather than make them examples, he wiped all trace of them from the galaxy.

Also Russ the Executioner. How did he come to see himself as this? Something more profound than the killings required of any other Legion.

So a Babby Primarch lands on a culturally primitive industrial world ravaged by generations of Ork WAAAGH, which is out of reach of the Great Crusade. By some chance, The Emperor never finds him or the planet to whisk him away. Similar to the other Primarchs, he rises to prominence in human society there, using his tremendous physical and psychic might to quickly become a champion of men. He becomes absolute war leader of the humans, reorganizing and galvanizing their crumbling society, and allowing them to hold on for one more generation. But he's still too late to save them. The Orks are simply too many. The most he can do is provide the horde with years of Thermopylae-esque battles, devastating them for every inch of ground they take, all the while knowing even that won't be enough.

This fact weighs on him as he ages, and combined with the ceaseless din of battle, the endless strategy and counterstrategy, his mind becomes more like that of The Enemy than he cares to admit. He begins to see the futility of it all -- of his entire existence -- as oddly liberating. There is only war. There is only the strange sense of respect the greenskins seem to pay him when he annihilates an entire army. They seem to cherish him, an enemy leader who has plagued them for decades, and come to battle out of sheer reverence, perhaps even love. Even as he styles his armour with their remains, or trophies of their greatest lieutenants, they are only emboldened. He cannot help but see them as capricious children in return, rushing on in earnest ardor, simply to "meet" his forces.

>> No.19847832

>>19847824
At the humans' final stand on the ravaged capitol mount, he manages to hold the Orks for nine years, in a siege battle worthy of eternal remembrance by both sides, if indeed the humans were to survive it. Millions die on both sides. Every fort, every parapet, every successive ridge is a war unto itself. The sky is blackened with flak; entire ridges and settlements are melted or collapsed to stem the tide. When the palatial acropolis is finally breached, the battle pushed to the Great Tactician's throne itself, his picked Varangian Guard yielding their posts only when they are dismembered beyond the ability to grasp a weapon, the Warboss calls for a halt. The honour of fighting the Big 'Umie, claw to claw, is to be his.

More out of awe for the towering, resplendent figure before them than out of loyalty to their overlord, the Orks relent. The Warboss, all a-grin, lumbers to the throne, carved from living rock in this stronghold-of-strongholds. The Tactician probes his mind for the answer to a question he has long since wondered: will he feel hate, or bitterness, or despair, when the end finally comes? Turning to face the Warboss with a smile, he answers his own question. Unbeknownst to either of them, they were both born into this conflict. They are its foci, its overseers, its sires.

He hoists his enormous power axe, fresh to the fight, ready to complete his final act of filial piety to this brother in war. The mountain shakes around them, peals of thunderclap echoing through the colonnades. When he finally sinks his crackling halberd through the neck and down the middle of his foe, when the painted claw at last relents from his crumpled breastplate with a hydraulic wheeze, he can only ponder what comes next. He grasps at his malice, his iron will for self-sacrifice, even at pity for his people, but can't find them in his breast. The tendrils of his psychic intuition flicker through the green tide before him, and he feels as if looking into a mirror.

He slides his axe from the mangled torso, and the words ring out through the hall: "Wot d'we do now, boss?"

Not to try and be TIDF here(cause I'm not), however hte fluff states that first the Tau actually got along pretty well, until the 'plains' tau(the Fire caste), realized they could just rob the other tau(or some other crap like that). The Tau are no conquerors. They are liberators.

The seeds of peace and prosperity must be planted carefully in each world. Indeed, the citizens of these worlds must be shown the benefits of Tau'va and must be reeducated to their future roles in the Glorious Empire of T'au.

In order for the Greater Good to prevail, the foundations of stability and order must be built firmly. The Tau are building a great Civilization that will last for an eternity.

You Gue'la barbarians would not understand. Living torturous short lives in the shambles of a decayed Dominion of Tyranny, you have no idea what peace and stability are.

Just to add a little bit of information.

A great famine and plague hit the various tribes of T'au. The cattle and crops started dying out and wild game became scarce.

The Plain Tau (and their mountain Tau allies) were forced out of necessity to war with the other tribes (primarily the City Tau) to survive during that Age of Terror.

So you see, what motivated that conflict between the Tau tribes was not ''Bloodlust'' it was just a desperate struggle for survival.

They wound up fighting for fucking days. Then Russ realized that them fighting was stupid as hell and let his guard down to laugh at their collective stupidity. Then the Lion sucker punched him out of anger.
Besides, Russ wasn't even considered to be the best fighter of the primarchs. Sanguinas was. Followed closely by Logar. Russ and his Sky Warriors weren't the executioner legion because they were particularly skilled at arms compared to everone else, but because they were able to become the rabid, savage, ruthlessly efficient group of power armored barbarians that everyone thought they were and run with it. All the other legions are supposed to be respectable and exemplars of men. The Wolves are typecasted as barbarians.
Ironic that the Wolves are also considered to be one of the more human legions alongside the Salamanders and Ravenguard.

Translation of El'Dar myth cycles say that the Necrontyr were defeated by the ancient El'Dar and were banished away to their tombs.

That would put your claim of galactic domination under suspicion.

From my little contact with you Doombringers, I have come to realize you have an enlarged sense of self importance and entitlement issues.
