Okay, first spell, Cirrus Skiff, because it's the first one in the book.

Target:Summoned Cloud

The Sorcerer whistles and calls from the sky a white cloud just large enough to carry her and one human sized passenger. The cloud descends and waits patiently for the sorcerer to step onto it, then it ascends into the sky and travels at the sorcerer's direction. During the scene in which the cirrus skiff is called, the sorcerer may enter and debark the vehicle at will. After the end of the scene, the cloud vanishes back into the sky the moment she steps off, pausing only to dump her baggage or traveling companion beside her.

Some sorcerers prefer the cirrus skiff to the azure chariot (see p. 41) for long journeys, as it allows continuous travel for as long as the sorcerer remains awake and vigilant, but others prefer azure chariot's sturdier construction and striking appearance. A few sorcerers proficient at archery, use the cirrus skiff as a mobile archery platform, as it provides perfectly stable footing and does not obscure the sorcerer's view of her surroundings.

Side bar containing stats reads as follows:
Speed:45/90 mph
Endurance:Until the sorcerer debarks
Crew:1/1 (Only the sorcerer)
Cargo:100 lbs. X caster's permanent essence, or 1 passenger per two dots of essence
Health Levels:Ux10/Mx2/Cx1/D

To be continued with whichever spell I find next.

Alright, next up is Food From The Aerial Table

Target:Conjured food

The Essence around the sorcerer condenses into a cascade of pink flakes that resemble flower petals. The soft, edible flakes can feed at least five people. For every additional five motes and Shape Terrestrial Circle Sorcery action taken, the spell creates another 10 servings of food. If the spell is interrupted during casting, the food produced up to that point already exists, but no more is conjured, The additional Essence spent is lost, as all the motes used in casting this spell are spent with the first Shape Terrestrial Circle Sorcery action.

The magical food is nourishing and filling, but it lacks flavor. The food keeps for a number of days equal to the sorcerer's Essence before dissolving into ash. The food does not rot, nor can it be poisoned, but it dissolves if it is mixed into other foods or cooked in any way. After a day or two, animals find the food unappetizing, increasing their control ratings +1 per two days with no other viands.

Food From The Aerial Table will not sustain mortal life forever. After one week with no other food, creatures receive a -1 external penalty to all physical actions due to slight weakness and lethargy. After six months with no other victuals, a character requires double the normal amount to nourish him. This is doubled again every six months that a character goes without real food, but the time is reset after consuming a day's worth of actual food.

To be concluded as soon as I find the last spell on your list.

>> No.15909246

Alright last spell, here we go, Thunder Wolf's Howl

Target:An area 20 yards across, within 100 yards of the sorcerer

In the ancient days of the First Age, the great Lunar general Shu-lin hunted the behemoth Thunder Wolf, who roamed the Far North eating men and beast alike. Though Shu-lin wished to tame him, the two struggled, painting a snowy mountainside crimson, until they died. Shu lin's widow created this spell in memory of the struggle.

The sorcerer shapes his essence with the Howling Word the great Animal Fathers of the North used to warn of Thunder Wolf's approach. A terrible howl then rips through an area 20 yard in diameter, up to 100 yards away. The shock smashes fragile objects and pulps internal organs. This attack cannot be parried or dodged at all. The caster's player rolls (Intelligence+Occult) to inflict a number of levels of bashing damage equal to the character's (Essence+successes); the sonic attack ignores worn armor. Undead and inanimate objects receive only half their normal soak against the howl.

All living creatures in the area of effect are also deafened and disoriented. They suffer a -2 internal penalty on all actions for five ticks per success on the casting roll. The players of Exalted and other wielders of Essence may attempt a reflexive (Stamina+Resistance) roll. Each success on this roll reduces the period of disorientation by five ticks.

Yep, this thread was kept civil, no shitposting, no crybabies. Just pure related content for faping. Moderation isn't really necessary other then to cut down on spam threads, and captcha pretty much curbstomped that shit.

The idea that any part of 4chan, even a nice place like /tg/ is at all acceptable for a work place environment so its "work safe" is utterly hilarious, At no point is any part of 4chan "work safe" ever, and it shouldn't try to be.

What? /vp/ has its own customs as do we. If I was a mod and went over there and said stop posting pokemon furry shit (and banned people for doing it), would they not resent me? Hate me? You must keep in mind that different boards have their own cultures. All the porn dumps /tg/ had were /tg/ related. We don't like it when people with unchecked power decide what is appropriate and whats not. Most of the oldfags left for greener pastures; /tg/ is just a shadow of its former self now.

And thats why no moderation is best moderation.

That's simply wrong.

Let me tell you sonny, back in my day when we had no mods or janitors. /tg/ was awesome, a paradise of art, writing, and general great shit. With occasional ELF WAT DO! and REAL ELVES LOOK LIKE BLACK WOMEN! Threads.

But they were quickly overhwelmed and turned into legit threads about various different subjects, from the prospects of building habitats on mars, to making a 40k first person survival horror rpg game set on a troop transport thats geller fields failed.

It was glorious.

I know only too well. When someone is banned because the mod doesn't like the pictures he posts with legit discussion of 4e, things have gotten out of hand.

>That's simply wrong.

Care to explain? I haven't seen anything that had made /tg/ great since the whole mod debacle started. Except scattered threads like this.

>> No.15911592

Or population is half of what it was back before the experiments in moderation. I'm not saying that all of the people who left were glowing golden contributors, and killing the elfslave and 'everyone get in here' threads did drop out post counts, but we lost a lot of people as well, and /tg/ is noticeably slower and less outgoing than it used to be.

>> No.15911601

>With occasional ELF WAT DO! and REAL ELVES LOOK LIKE BLACK WOMEN! Threads.

Occasional? They were a regular occurrence, and only rarely did they actually become anything interesting. No moderation simply doesn't work; but light and careful moderation does. The odd porn or offtopic thread now and then hurts no-one so long as it's civil, but there needs to be some sort of janitorial presense to get rid of blatent troll or spam threads.

There are two levels of authority above moderator. Moderators have been banned in the past for overstepping their authority. Go check the 4chan IRC for a list of current mods.
Less rapid? That's a good thing. Good threads stay up longer. Less outgoing? Not sure what you mean by that. We're just as welcoming to new people as ever before. When I first started posting here I was welcomed right away, even before I name/tripfagged.

Yes it is. Massive sudden change is not a fucking good thing.

BUT! I and others like me, glorious crusaders of the truth. Shall one day overtake Baron Von Modbanhammer, and we shall bring peace and prosperity to the land.

We will have so many drawthreads! So many quest threads! So many racebuilding and worldbuilding threads! We will dump monstergirls, demons, and cultist all day every day! We shall feast on roasted lamb, drink vast quantitiies of mead, and do righteous battle with each other!

Frankly, it almost comes down to that American expression. Or atleast I think its American. Anyway

trading freedom for safety. You can either have total freedom that produces awesome things, but has negative things with it. Or you can have safety trading your freedom for a relatively clean board

I can't agree. The monstergirl dump threads are expressly and knowingly violating the rules of a privately-owned website. If they get deleted, it's supposed to happen. Yeah, /tg/ has a culture where it probably doesn't NEED to happen for things to remain civil, but it's still supposed to happen.

We don't need it, therefore we shouldn't have it. Thats the mods reasoning. We also don't NEED cars but we have them anyway because their USEFUL. These threads let people blow off steam, act retarded, fap, look at nice art and more. But we shouldn't have them because we don't need 'em.

Id do agree with the statement.

/tg/ initialy had no moderation and one could simply ignore the bull threads and not even enter them. honestly i never entered a "elf slave what do" unless it had over 100 posts and then skimming through it for long posts to determine if it had anything of worth.
"elfes look like" or "it's not rape if it's an elf" were not even opened and i was content to ignore them, for the greater glory of original and unrestrikted draw-fagging and writefagging.

Honestly , if it bothers dont reply, dont open. hide it and you are golden. I prefered old /tg/, and one day old /tg/ will come back to stay.

Name something noteworthy /tg/ has done in the past few months. Old /tg/ was all about OC and getting shit done.

>> No.15911854

The true destructive powers of the mods on /tg/ are deceptively subtle. In theory, they are an excellent way to keep the boards clean and focused. In the past, it was widely recognized that trolling itself was actually /tg/'s standard pastime, but certain topics push each fa/tg/uy's buttons in different ways. While most took the trolling in stride and, in fact, many prolific discussions arose from intended troll threads, some individuals just didn't understand the game. It's not about the experience and shooting the breeze to the folks known as tha/tg/uy. It's about winning.

It is known that power corrupts, but a lesser known axiom is that power also turns a mod on /tg/ into tha/tg/uy. That guy that shows up and bans anything he deems as “not related” to traditional gaming. That guy who has a fit every time somebody wants to discuss a setting or idea he doesn't like, even if it is the creative process that creates a good game in the first place. The natural tendency of a good roleplayer, after all, is to give something character, but it is the mod's prerogative to decide what kind of characters are actually acceptable.

Or in other words, mods are like awful DMs that have a predetermined idea of how their players should act, and they don't care how funny it is, you can't play a naked half-orc paladin named “Satan”.

>> No.15911855

I dunno man, havn't been here for around a year.

>> No.15911870

The fact is, leadership and good group organization comes from having a clear set of punishments and rewards. Violating the rules must always be met with an exact punishment, and doing well must be met with reward. Of course, 4chan has no natural inbuilt rewards beyond praise of the fellow fa/tg/uy, and since each mod has his own peeves, there is only one consistent condition for punishment: criticizing the mods.

Mods are known to ban posters on /tg/ for all number of things not necessarily displayed as the board rules. Hence they lack clarity. One mod may have a raging grudge against furries, and thus, on the lookout for furries to ban, he can't tell the difference between a joking discussion of futa Godzilla and a picture of two anthropomorphic foxes banging each other. If the mod can't tell the difference, then there is no rule to follow: merely punishment to be had.

And while one mod will ban anyone for so much as referencing furries, another is out to stop threads that involve video game characters, and another is ready to stop My Little Pony. Fa/tg/uys, not wanting to be banned, eventually find themselves more or less incapable of branching out and doing anything terribly interesting.

>> No.15911880

One can discuss 40k, but there may or may not be limits. Slaanesh is kind of lewd, and /tg/ is “work safe”, so will your posts be deleted if your deamonette pictures include titties? It depends on the mod, so really, who knows except for the mod that bans you? Then, with that in mind, what's the point in going out of your way to be creative and have fun? What if your picture trolls a mod somehow and you get banned?

Occasionally, when the mods are asleep, a fa/tg/uy might catch glimpses of threads talking about the old days on /tg/. The days when “/tg/ didn't need mods” because everything was really just kind of a joke, anyway. The days when even the trolls, however hated, did have a certain amount of bizarre class that at least made them interesting. To those not in the know, it may seem like oldfags grumping about nostalgia, but it honestly wasn't that long ago. Not only that, but those shenanigans that created all the fascinating stories here on 1d4chan weren't terribly rare in those days either.

Whatever they may say, don't believe them. /tg/ only has one rule under the mods: do whatever the mods want. There is no other persistently established set of rules. It's not your /tg/ anymore. It's not your gaming store anymore. You don't make the rules, and majority acceptance is meaningless. /tg/ belongs to the mods and thats sad.

Honestly, I don't like it when people use the example of "elf girl wat do?" because that was like ONE PERSON trolling the board. And by getting the mod to (I don't if they still do this) take an intsta-ban stance on anything remotely having to do with 'wat do', he basically got to perma-troll the board.

But also, the thing you pointed at, people making a concerted effort to derail threads they didn't like, wasn't exactly good either. Old /tg/ DID have a problem with threadshitting and that really needed moderation to fix. I don't really see threadshitting around here anymore, probably because the asshole that did it was made a janitor.

>> No.15912154

It's just a single example

The general feel that I got was that a year ago, /tg/ felt 'free' in a way. There wasn't really any moderation other than self moderation/group moderation. Even with the relatively large size of the board this worked fairly well.

Then we got a small handful of persistent trolls - elf girl wat do, that pasta bird, plus all the jspam.

More recently, it's felt like a jail. Constrained, not allowed to do anything. (Less extreme over the past couple months in my eyes, however.)

The moderator really only needed to do one thing, and that was get rid of the spam. That's what those trolls were, just spam clogging up the board.

Instead, he tried to enforce his specific views of what constituted /tg/. In the end it felt like his moderation did more to kill /tg/'s creativity than the spam ever did.

I'm not a big fan of moderation on 4chan to begin with though - the whole purpose behind 4chan's creation was to basically be unmoderated. I don't see why we need to change that; there aren't many places on the internet where you can go and have totally candid discussions without shit being locked and people being banned for voicing contrary opinions. Let 4chan be a shithole. If people want moderated discussions there's a slew of boards to be found just about anywhere else you look on the web.

>> No.15912166

Yeah, clearly it was just a small group of assholes, not a general fraying of order as people watched porn threads and other fetishistic crap go unpunished, and it sure is awful now that the threads actually have to be /tg/-related.

This shit about a "constrained atmosphere" is all in your heads, stuffed in by the whining of people that miss their elf rape threads but have the sliver of intelligence necessary to not mention them specifically when complaining. The good ol' /tg/ that I remember is still here, it just doesn't get fucked by bad trolls as often as it used to and isn't full of spam anymore.

>Then we got a small handful of persistent trolls

You have a really small memory span. There have been persistent trolls on /tg/ since day 1, and periodically they gained enough strength to noticeably affect the board - trolling homebrews off /tg/, for instance (anyone remember "sage for homebrew"? Yeah, that was a meme) or spamming threads about topics they didn't like. "Self-moderation" was just a competition for who could scream the loudest and who could sage the fastest. You can't blame the decline of the board on the mod; if there even has been a decline (I'd argue quality has gone down if you compare it to the first few months of the board, but I'm not sure how much of that is simple nostalgia), it started long before the current mod showed up.

Also, 4chan has always been moderated.
