If you're an IG fan the only chapter you should support are the Salamanders, who by far care more about the common man more than any other chapter.

Where as other chapters use guardsman as a frontline to be broken, Salamanders will pull the guardsmen back even if it'll cost them their own battle brothers.

Seriously, true bros who are respected by the common man on every war torn world they go to protect.

look, Lore wise, the smurfs are way OP, they are easily the dominant chapter, which is why so many noobs play them and why neckbeards hate them.

But in terms of sheer hardcoreness, I would warrant that none compare with the Grey Knights. An entire chapter of psychers who spend their whole time battling chaos. If it came to a strait up battle between chapters (again), I can't see many doing better than them.

Blood Angels are the best because they are space-vampires with amazing craftsmanship and insanely fast vehicles.

Space Wolves are the best because they are are viking space-werewolves with insane melee skill and the best heavy weapons squads.

Dark Angels are the best because they have a tragic backstory full of woe and are inqusition space-monks with loads of heavy armour and bikes.

White Scars are the best because they have a million bikes and are space-mongolians.

Iron Hands are the best because they're space-cyborgs with no emotions (except hate) and awesome tech-priests.

Salamanders are the best because they're fire-loving space-niggers who are nice to people and pack fire into everything. In a GOOD way.

Raven Guard are awesome because they're jump-packing sneaky-guys with a penchent for night raids and are space-crow lovers.

Imperial Fists are awesome because they're siege-masters and they use awesome as anything tanks wherever possible, and aren't a space-anything. Nice going.

Ultramarines are awesome because every spacemarien wants to be them and accept Rowboat Girlyman to be their spiritual liege.

The space wolf viking thing is pretty cool, too, but it just seems like...I bad cliche of viking culture. Real vikings were intrepid explorers, traders, and competent farmers who had a pretty fair social structure for all it's violence. They used thralls and indentured servants when everyone else had slaves and serfs for one thing. Space wolves have none of that; just runes and wolf wolves of the wolf wolf.

There are some pretty cool chaos Legions as well, some of which would, frankly, work just as well as Loyalist Chapters. Like Alpha Legion or Night Lords.

It's a real shame alpha legion is effectively dead using the current chaos codex. I mean, you could use lots of Chosen, but that's about it. Same with night lords.

The battle of Istvaan III is where Horus most of the loyalists remaining within his and his followers' legions, and the whole planet was virus bombed. But by his logic, Space Wolves and Blood Angels are also not Space Marines, as they have modified/flawed geneseeds.
The Grey Knights just undergo more rigorous training and enhancements, to protect them from the taint of what enemies they face. How are they not Space Marines?
They go through everything a Space marine does, plus more. Just because Rowboat isn't their spiritual liege and they do not follow the tennents of the Codex Astartes, does not make them anything other than Marines.
It just shows that Grey Knights are more devoted to their task, and the Emperor.

The Emperor did not make the Primarchs to be equal with him, nor can the gifts of Chaos make them so.
Just remember, the Emperor beat down the Void Dragon, a giant-ass mother-fucking Star God, and imprisoned it underneath Mars before humans had steam engines.
What makes you think that anything less than a god itself could match the Emperor?
The only reason Horus had managed to wound the Emperor is because the Emperor refused to believe that his most favoured son had fallen entirely to chaos. LOOK AT THIS FUCKING GUARDSMAN.

He's spent months fighting a grueling war in which his enemies are demigods allied with daemons, and now he's found himself in the closest thing to Hell he's ever known. He probably wasn't even supposed to get teleported up to the arch-traitor's battle barge in the first place, and just ended up in the wrong place at the worst possible time.

Somehow he's survived horrors beyond comprehension to make his way to the very bridge of Horus' flagship. He saw a veritable angel call upon Horus to answer for his crimes, and he saw that angel die as messily as any guardsman. His Emperor - who he fervently believes is a god incarnate, even if he's not supposed to - lies mortally wounded, and Horus, perhaps, has taken a moment to gloat before he strikes the killing blow.

His armor is slightly more effective than tissue paper, his weapon is slightly more powerful than a flashlight, and Horus' power claw is bigger than his entire body. He stands before a being infused by the dark gods with incalculable power, that can and will obliterate his soul with no more effort than it would take him to swat a gnat. Nothing he can do could possibly make a difference.

He could run. He could turn his weapon on himself. He could give in to the insidious whispers that echo from the ship's corridors into his mind.

Ollanius Pius does the duty his Emperor requires of him. He dies standing, and holding the fucking line.
