Since this codex is relevant would you guys mind if I share my new and updated "Nod Codex" that is actually just a sum of already legal rules?

The only downside would be minimal choices of the unit like chimera turrets cannot be changed, etc. With the re-modeling of things being extensive to fit the vehicle size and weapon locations. With almost no models being GW original.

I dunno, hardly /tg/ related and closer to /k/cgl/fit/.

Figuring out what sort of armor placement I can set up some decently hardened steel for. I need it to be 7/8ths inch thick (at least 22mm). Make it look like a Nod soldier, or at the very least appear scorpion chitin-ish.

Going to be a huge fire to keep the metal hot enough where a magnet won't stick to any part. People have trouble with swords for crying out loud.

Then there's the effin' spalling from the splatter, knowing tin plate can't hold it back. Must be aircraft grade aluminum.

The gun setup will be a kel-tec P-3AT inna wallet. Real wallet will appear like cigs in a "cig case". Rifle is still undecided, going to be 7.62x51 or 54r. Some sort of 30cal beyond the x39 case length.

Iunno, may just go with aluminum if I can figure out how to get duralumin to set as a plate properly. Heard it can bounce 5.56's but not steel core. Need more than 3/4th's of an inch of soft steel to stop that, much less 30cal steel core of any kind. So I'm doing the hardening myself.

Planning phase. Only expect to armor the front, back will be a light travel pack. Also themed Nod. Trying to think of a sling that makes it feel like the back swings a tail around for the theme.

/k/ didn't take me seriously so I'm alone on the project. Maybe if I started showing results they will tell me where I'm wrong after they get to tell me "you wasted your time here, here and here".

Best representation list suggestions welcome. The whole venom on every unit seems appropriate. But what about the claws that crush and claim prey? That needs to be represented too.

Any "talos" suggestions will be ignored. Obvious that their involvement is optional and fluffy. Obvious.

Hi. Nod player here (IG). Proxying models for test runs and such so far. Not sure if I want to papercraft or make some cheap molds to fill with plastic for the tanks.

Anyway, the main issue is that the 1995 Nod specs for vehicles made some underpowered, or the rules aren't in the IG codex to represent them(Nod Bikes, Nod Light Tanks, Apache etc). Even using forgeworld rules, anything short of apocalypse rules would have the rules I need.

So, what if I were to 'advance the basics' somewhat? Would that be too far from the norm to consider them Nod anymore?

Avoiding VDR rules(not compatible) avoiding allies to the IG codex if at all possible. But things got me thinking. Tiberium war on some ole planet lets say they bring tiberium everywhere to infect every planet they come across.

Their vehicles would advance a little right? The Nod Flame tank would become faster(hellhound/chemhound), missiles added to the apache(and maybe armor=valkyrie). Nod bike being retconned unfortunately, no rules for it at all.

Seems fair? Posting the list next.

Plan: Buy Warzone Shock Troopers, cut the cloak down to the legs and reshape shoulderpads. Create fill-dyes for the vehicles and make a cheap army where people would like to face the old 1995 Nod forces with a friendly approach, not meant to be a main force or competitive.
