For cover art, you could always use this classic, as it's a "[back to] basics" rules set".

I am playing a very simple, fast and abstract set of Napoleonic rules at present, that works entirely around 1D6 rolls and not that extensive modifier tables, I am finding it very enjoyable and relaxing against the quite complicated rule sets one normally encounters, really allowing me to see my miniatures on the table top without the worry of losing the full day to a game.

Anyone know where I can download a copy of Rogue Trader? I want to read some classic, largely retconned 40k lore.

Also, Rogue Trader thread maybe?

Yeah, we're gonna need something to do in the meantime. It's not like we can afford getting our positions steamrolled, and killing the warboss does not mean an end to fighting.

Not a bad idea, I've got some plastic tubing too I could use.
I also need to put a couple weapons on it worthy of the name Titan. The head of the Titan is the Defiler chassis right above the green portal on the Monolith, and instead of the normal head on the chassis I've sculpted a Daemon into it.

Look at this, this image ta attracted so many gamers and basically made games workshop. ignore the crude bits of the detail, since GW was not able t pay anywhere near as much as it does now for artworks, but look at what is going on, and what it's trying to convey.

The dead marines, the looming gigantic monstrous figures in the smoke, the futile gesture of defiance of waving a fallen enemies head (maybe throwing it even), the wounded, the guy at the back mid-death, the simple banner being held up by a wounded man, the muted tones of the colours, these are the heroes. And they're losing.
It's not glorious, it's not pretty, it's not a noble sacrifice in the cause of something, it's a pile of guys in the middle of a battlefield on no particular objective who are massively outgunned and they're going to die.

That's 40k. Despite all the humour and sillyness of 1st edition, that was the world right from the cover of the first book.

From what I understand there are multiple variants of Melta using different firing methods, such as promethium or microwaves?
Regardless, I don't fancy a big melta debate here.

Damn straight. Truth is, who gives a honest shit which army is what? They all have something attractive about them, all have their merits and all have their downsides. Everyone should just chill and enjoy what they have.

This is pretty tame for what they're doing. Wait until you actually meet the MLP fanboys. Good god.
Thats the reason why.
