Is there something like the d20srd for 40k RPGs? Really I just want the chapter special rules from Deathwatch

Hey, /tg/. Long time 40K player here

I've just recently heard about Deathwatch and it seems really interesting. I've looked up a bit about it, but I'd like to hear about it firsthand

So, elegan/tg/entlemen. Any stories you'd like to tell of how well or poor the system works or tales of heroic badassery with your battle-brothers?

So, my weekend gaming group alternates weeks for campaigns. It just so happens one of the guys only has maybe 4-8 sessions to go.
Now, I've never DM'ed before, and was hoping to introduce myself to it with a fairly simple system. We usually play 3.5, or some highly homebrewed palladium based stuff, but I think I've found something simple enough for a first time DM to grasp.
So I humbly come to /tg/ with a simple question and request. Will I be able to run a game of Deathwatch that can entertain the players, while giving me an easy enough time being a first time DM that I wont be ripping my hair out wondering what the fuck to do?

Is there a how to play guide?

Is it all percentile dice? Hows it work?

Also death watch/rpg general

There is a huge difference between the psyker causing a TPK and having classes that are just inherently broken from the get go.

The psyker would have to roll poorly and fuck it up - something that is applicable to just about every die based game in existence, the class doesn't inherently wtfpwn the other classes once you get beyond early levels.

Plus, unlike 3.5 core DH's melee characters (that is, to draw a comparison to the monk/barbarian and fighter) don't all fight for the same skills, nor is one class blatantly better than the others.

Pic related again, each class has its own abilities and noen of them are flatout better than another.

OK, so what's the verdict on Deathwatch? Or are you still playing Dark Heresy / Rogue Trader

>> No.12187273 [View]

Hey, anon, i can't find Deathwatch thread, is scanning over and everyone interested playing it now? Last time i checked there was 150 more pages to go.

>> No.12151271 [View]

Well the last one is auto-saging so when the scanon gets back with the goods here is a new shiny thread to put them in.

>> No.12080216 [View]

just curious if anyone knew when Deathwatch is supposed to be released

>> No.12075836 [View]

So, are there any new rumours or news about release date of Deathwatch.

>> No.11594008 [View]

I suppose OP deleted the thread due to it not becoming a shitstorm of BAWW SPESS MEHREENZ, so I'll just make a new one for my reply.

I think making an investigation-heavy campaign in DW wouldn't be that hard at all. Imagine: A bizarre Space Marine Chapter decides to join the Crusade, but some of their "customs" are somewhat fishy for the higher-ups. The Kill-team is sent to the same frontline as the Chapter, and their prtimary task is to test the newcomers' purity.

Another one: On a newly conquered world, there is found an ancient fortress of unknown origin, possibly even the Dark Age of Technology. Who would be better in investigating its usefulness than the Space Marines? Once they enter it, however, weird things start happening, and some new theories on the building's creators' allegiance are bound to appear.

Those two are just from the top of my head. Note, that all kinds of "inconvenient truths" can be found, like the one in Final Sanction. If a Dark Angel is in the party, shit can get hilarious, to the point of team-killing.
Whaddya think?
