An old school 40k thread is nothing without this comic.

Dorn post-heresy:

>SPESS MEHRENS WE HAVE FEHLED THE EMPRA
>almost go full heretic because of codex astartes
>hop into the painglove for a week
>while there, come up with a plan to put the entire Legion through a pain glove to bring about a great rebirth
>think Iron Cage is the painglove, rush in and get bailed out by Ultramarines
>finally implement the codex like others did long before

It is called Space Marine, but it was never released.
It's an adaptation of Ian Watson's novel, Space Marine, which was either the first or second 40k novel ever.
Some illustrator pitched the idea of a graphic novel adaptation to GW and Watson. Watson thought it was a cool idea, but GW decided against it. (I don't know if Black Library existed at the time, or Warhammer Monthly, even. I found the illustrator's website where he has these posted)

Space Marine is a damn good novel and fuck the haters btw

Yeah, but they also recruit from a plethora of other worlds too. In this case, it was a planet where the aforementioned SPACE RACES were at war with each other.

That's true.

Space Wolves go as far as to recruit *only* adult battle-hardened warriors, with Wolf Priests playing the role Odin sometimes takes in the myths.

But again, that's not a typical Chapter. Pic related is.

Like their Primarch, the Imperial Fists lack mustaches.

And beards as well.

In fact, they lack any hair beyond that on their scalps, because it would distract from the Painglove experience.

It just confirms the earlier rumour batch by Yakface, who's about as credible as rumourmongers get.

Release is in November, no exact date is available as this is what Games Workshop actually believes:

>As for secrecy about new releases, what we have found is that the more secret we keep things, the more excitement there is about a launch. Space Hulk was a great example of this, as was Finecast. Some people love to know in advance what is going to happen, of course. But as you point out in your letter, we are a commercial organisation. And what we have learnt is that the more information that is leaked in advance, the weaker the launch. The more secret we keep it, the bigger the launch. We are not being paranoid, it just makes sense for us to do it that way, nothing more than that.
>-Mark Wells, CEO, Games Workshop

Yes, the best selling BL authors can't write actual grimdark to save their lives.

Dan Abnett and Graham McNeill especially, even Ian Watson was much grimmer and darker, and he wrote early 90'shammer.

Yeah they're bullshitting on that too, lying to the uninformed with smiles on their faces.

Their total R&D costs in 2009-2010 period were a bit over 3 million quid, 9 times less than administrative expenses and over 15 times less than sales expenses. Again all in their reports.

So unless Finecast technique (mixing resin & plastic, supa-'ard) was developed entirely from late 2010 onwards, and next report says that their R&D cost has increased tenfold...
