They really don't get enough love, considering that they're studded baseball bats. I know /tg/ tends to favor Western stuff anyways, but even when I do meet an Eastern flavored character, they tend to go katana.

Once you realize they have quite the arsenal, it seems a waste to use a katana 24/7

A hammer upside someone's head is generally good at hurting them; yes.

I love the simplicity of it. Shame it's not a popular weapon so it's never used in anything ever. I'm guessing that simplicity that I love so much is why it's never used in anything. Too simple for a protagonist or even a villain. Maybe some mooks will have a wooden club but that's not the same.

Every time.

Shame it's not a more popular weapon. I can't even find decent pictures of one.

I think you'd have an easier time finding a place or time that didn't have a bopper of some kind. Getting hit in the head will fuck a guy up, even if they have a helmet.

The samurai way of thinking was "Why the hell would I use a shield when I could use my left hand to make my sword hit harder?"

I'm not sure they even developed that many one handed weapons.

Musashi developed a two swords style because it gave him better versatility. He could use one sword like to defend while he attacked, or attack two spots at once. Developing one handed techniques meant that even if one of his arms was disabled, he'd still be able to attack to some degree.

Why use something like an iron club when you can get a weapon that IS an iron club?

>Bruce Lee.

Dude, anything can be the best Non-Lethal CC weapon if you give it to him. Doesn't mean it's the actually useful.

As for OP's question, I would try a tetsubo, and use it for the same functions as a Zweihander.

Tetsubo.

A good strike with one of these is gonna ruin a knight's day.

Tetsubo.

The prerequisite to being accepted to train with a tetsubo was being able to lift it for any period of time.

It smashed through armor, swords, horses and anything less than stone walls. Tetsubo was a monster of both a battlefield weapon and was still good for duels. All it required was the strength to carry.
