Forever DM here, I love the shit out of in character fights.
Dark Heresy at the moment, it's wonderful, the whole party stands on a razors edge with the intelligent adept dipping into heresy in order to solve mysteries and complete missions and the Feral world-er heavy weapons guy calling him out as out of line and walking too close to the edge.

The Adept is key to the party, but in every case it's like:

Adept: We need all the help we can get, and besides, we can turn on the Eldar once they've seen us to the Inquisitor, They know the lay of the land and with them we can avoid the bulk of the Orks. They told us their intentions and we care little for the Nob Gural-thraka or how he dies. His death might even help the guard forces with all the confusion among the Orks while they squabble over who their new leader is.

Heavy weapons guy: AND IT NEVER OCCURRED TO YOU WE MIGHT BE LEADING ELDAR TO OUR FRACKING INQUISITOR? ELDAR LIE, THEY'RE FRACKING XENOS.

Assassin: That's a good point soldier... what do you think robocop?

Tech priest: BEEP BOOP WHRRRR

Adept: Oh... Umm... Maybe... Fuck...

Pic kinda related, our old party before

Although that figure is dwarfed by a UK video gaming market worth £4.7bn, it is sufficient to keep the group expanding internationally, aided by moves to replace unprofitable shopping centre stores with smaller, one-man outlets.

Since its profit warning in January 2011, Games Workshop shares are up about 80 per cent, compared with a relatively flat FTSE small-cap index. Last month the company reported full-year pre-tax profits of £19.5m, up 27 per cent, and raised its full-year dividend 40 per cent year on year.

While most companies would be shouting such figures from the rooftops, Games Workshop’s management prefer to let the numbers speak for themselves, and turned down four requests to speak to the Financial Times.

Uncharacteristically for a London-listed company, management do not make a habit of visiting the capital to chat to analysts and investors, preferring instead to host them at the company’s castle-themed headquarters in Nottingham.

>dark heresy
>psyker (me), choppyish cleric, dual pistol scum, oath of silence tech-priest and rifle assassin are sent to investigate some planet
>some business about democracy, we assume it's heresy
>very nice imperial planet with no problems until this democracy bullshit comes up
>long story short, the sultan of the planet's daughter is kidnapped
>we return to the palace to see her being taken off in a car, tech priest drags me and the assassin drives
>CAR CHASE
>FUCKLOADS OF SHOOTING AND DODGE PENALTIES
>keep using precognitive aim to pop tires and guys, hitting everything for once
>PERILS OF THE WARP
>lesser daemon summoned
>23 meters away from us. In the car chase
>We hear a poof, followed by something being hit by a car
>cleric just glares at me, saying "WHAT WAS THAT, PSYKER?"
>"...uh, nothing."

We did rescue the daughter, but it's hilarious to imagine a daemon being summoned into existance, swearing oaths against the foolish mortal who dare bring it from the Empyran, before being hit by a 100mph car.

And I know you guys are probably reading this, hi.

So I want to show my friend that the Fantasy Flight 40K games aren't what he thought they were. I'm trying to decide the best one to show him.

So my question is: which system would you pick to show a new player (but experienced role-player)? I'm sure I'll see all 4 of them depending on people's preferences, so for posterity could you also list the reasons for your pick?

For the record, I'm leaning Black Crusade because it's got the simplest "class" system, and is more-or-less an update of Dark Heresy's rules. A friend recommended Rogue Trader, and that's tempting, but I'm afraid of the Wealth Factor rules that I've heard so much about.

I only notice a while back but he have the same name as the Inquisitor in one of Gaunt Ghost novel. Same person? Unlikely since Eisenhorn Heldane is a fullblown Puritan and GG Heldane is a total Radical.

Hey /tg/, im gonna be running a Dark heresy campaign one shot for me and my friends to take a break from our normal DH game, so i was browsing you tube and found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cXDgFwE13g
I want to base it off of this, and i have some ideas, and I'd like you opinion/more ideas if possible.
Idea: Acolytes are investigating a series of murders in a hive, mostly being the deaths of suspected criminals involved in the local sex trade. Normally, this would be written off as inter gang violence, but in this case, all the bodies have been[ insert plot shit hear}.
What do you guys think? Any ideas for the plot shit?
Pic related, My group has decided that for this one, they are making the equivalent of the scooby doo team, and i have allowed this, giving them one dysfunctional mastiff dog whish thinks its a real dog.

Oh no, gang! The Inquisitor commanded us to check out Old Man Henderson's place. It is pretty spooky, and we may have to burn him to death for impure thoughts and consorting with the ruinous powers!
Keep a lookout for clues to his sins against the Emperor, gang!
