How would a psyker Orkanaut be if it could manifest Warp Lance for free and had a 3++ naturally?

Or would it be too overpowered?

I find the lack of Weirdboy machines and units a bit odd.

I'd love the option for a free pick, even if it's just one. I hate the idea of building in stupid redundancys in lists, not for combat loss or tactics, but because you have to roll the right number before you even begin.

A free pick might make lvl 1 pyskers more useful, by stint of not buying lvl 2 for increased odds, but it's not like lvl 1s are any good for casting.

Oh and open up the non imperials damn tables, forcing you to take crumby racial ones only is a turd mechanic.

Several things happened at once. Twitch's mine bounced off the thick metal band restraining the Weirdboy's head, sailed off in a random direction, was snatched out of the air by an overenthusiastic Gretchin, and promptly exploded. The force of the blast knocked the Weirdboy's dolly over backwards, taking the Ork out of Nubby's line of fire and crushing the three Gretchins that had been pushing it.

Nubby adjusted his aim, but as he did so, the ork psyker bellowed something. Somewhere in the pack of Gretchins one of them exploded in a shower of green sparks and a small cloud of acrid smoke, the rest surged forwards with a high-pitched "WAAAGH", intercepting Nubby's fire and closing the gap surprisingly fast. Nubby held the trigger down until Twitch reached him, then they both did some quick math, decided that thirty-and-an-enraged-weirdboy-to-two odds weren't in their favor, and cheesed it.

Now, despite what it looked like, this was not a cowardly retreat. It was actually a carefully planned tactical maneuver to distract the enemy from the true objective. Or at least it turned out that way in any case. Veteran retreaters that they were, Twitch and Nubby easily outpaced the xenos and broke contact long enough to come up with a plan and split up.

Twitch stayed on the path they'd been following. He found a nice firing position and started shooting Gretchins as they came around a handy corner, racking up seven kills without any real trouble. Then the Weirdboy (and the Gretchins pushing him) shot around the corner, tilting up on one wheel, and bellowing "ITZ SQUIGGIN TIME", as he came.

I notice Weirdboy staff has the "Force" rule on it and adds 2 to his Strength.

How useful would this be if he were able to get "Hammerhand" off on himself before a fight (Strength 10?) and piled in with a Warboss, a Nob (with a Waaagh! Banner boosting Weapon Skill) and some other Boyz to attack something like a Trygon or a Squiggoth ?

What about for Orks ?

I heard someone suggest Ork Weirdboys are better for summoning shenanigans than using their own powers at times.

>gretchins run at the drop of a pin

Not if you attach a character with higher leadership. They then use his leadership.

>>39488825

>You can run, but the table is only so large.

Its also worth mentioning if you feel like taking a risk (and if your Weirdboy has "Da Jump) that a Weirdboy can teleport the Mek Gunz and they could still fire if they had the Mega-Armor character attached to the Gunz (assuming I'm interpreting those rules correctly).

Lore question:
How does the Tyranids' Shadow in the Warp effect the Orks' Waaagh?

Do the Orks just ignore it? Do they lose their sort of psychic cohesion? Do their shootas stop working?

Speaking of the Ork psychic field, I'd like to see a a Weirdboy warmachine.

A Weirdboy Stompa or Gargant like the one in the Baneblade Novel would be interesting.

It could stand-in for the Weirdboy tower.

But I am unsure of how effective it would be.
