Death and destruction are things that follow you in your wake. Sometimes you need to get used to them, to survive, to endure. But there is a very fine line between controlling your emotions and being callous. One of things that Chapter Master understood, looking at the screen with numbers of mounting casualties of the Imperial Guardsmen dying on the planet's surface is that he no longer really cares. It is better they die here, this way, than from STDs or overdose back at their barracks. Life is suffering and that's what they were born for, it's what they live for.

You reach 10 Corruption points. Please roll d100. If you roll 10 or less, you may experience something new.

Shit man, sorry, it's my subconscious, I am reading your name like that. In my mother tongue y is like ee in British. No offence meant.

Suddenly, you realise why Quixos sounded so strange... You turn to Eisenhorn:
>Quick, you must use protection, now! Quixos is going to use your names against you, maybe even now he is preparing a ritual to do that! Knowledge of the True Name can be used for the darkest kind of magic!
Eisenhorn nods:
>You are right! How could I have missed that! You learned your lessons well, Space Marine. I will try to quickly put on enchantments on all of our armours so that our names couldn't be used to reach us!
[rolling for Eisenhorn, below (52+20)=72, each degree of success protects one of the 5 Inquisitors. You can aid him by testing Daemonology +0, if you win, you add +1 degree of success]
Lyk and Farnsworth share +1 XP point for noticing this and rolling well.

Guys, serious question here. If I read the Horus Heresy series will it ruin 40k for me?

When I started learning about Warhammer the past was full of myths and legends and for all we fans knew everything the Imperial Cult said about the Emperor and the Horus Heresy was true. But then they started writing these and laying out the mythology bare. I hear stuff like "the Emperor is a dick" and all these other things and I just don't know if I want to face that or keep living in ignorance

So, were any of the Legions' betrayals justified?
I haven't read any of the HH books, and I know shit-all about the Legions' full back-stories other than what their specialties were.
Otherwise, 40k fluff (and anything else) general.

Yes, I dont really see how/why you would want to play a archetype who has no thoughts of its own or atleast isn't able to express them.

I have made an agreement with one of my players, who has experience running DW, that once this book comes out we are going to play a game of Chaoswatch where I'm most likely going to play a TSS. Then I'm going to get a Minion or two who are basically Rubric Marines, which I think is pretty much the perfect way of getting them into the game.

And indeed, dat moustache.

/tg/ how about we have a power level thread?

We'll talk about ability in combat, who would win in a 1v1fight among the Primarchs.

IMO (from stronger to weaker, pre-Daemonhood, based mainly on the novels from BL):

1.Sanguinius
2.Fulgrim
3.Corvus Corax
4.Lorgar Aurelian
5.Leman Russ
6.Horus Lupercal
7.Jaghatai Khan
8.Angron
9.Magnus the Red
10.Roboute Guilliman
11.Konrad Curze
12.Mortarion
13.Alpharius Omegon
14/15.Rogal Dorn-Perturabo
16.Vulkan
17.Ferrus Manus
18.Lion El'Jonson

judging by the size of the pages, I would assume either one of the "Art of the Horus heresy" books, or one of the Apoc books. though I cannot be sure.

Only the most fucktarded of Chaos' forces (mainly Khorne Berzerkers) actually slaughter their way wholesale through the Imperium. The others are simply trying to bring down the Imperium and replace it with their own state.

Compare and contrast Horus with Angron.

You have an electro-craft for interfacing with directly with machine spirits with a retractable shunt in the base of your skull, an electoo on your left hand in the design of the Mechanicus emblem, a respirator unit that has covered and partially replaced your lower jaw, your cyber mantel, potentia coil and lightly damaged cranial circuitry.

Your useless flesh eyes cant see anything and your hands fingers cant even fit in the key hole, let alone reach any of its inner workings. You think can hear something on the other side of the door, but its faint.
