I am sadly missing a few panels from this comic. The full version includes one or two panels where a techpriest chants over the eversor's cryo-sleep pod and fires it out of an orbiting ship.
They keep him on ice and then launch him from orbit at their enemies.

Chances are, if the Eversor was sent to kill a rogue Imperial commander, his guardsmen would try to defend him and the Eversor would have to kill them. If the Guardsmen don't bother the Eversor and the Eversor wasn't told to kill them, they'd be fine.

Of course, it's very easy to bother an Eversor.

Story times.
These guys must have really pissed off the High Lords to warrant two assassins being authorized.

Vindicare: a perfect sniper. You don't see him coming. People start falling over and vehicles start getting holes blown in important parts.
Eversor: a drug crazed berserker who is fired out of an orbiting ship as a 'fuck you' to a world that the High Lords are having trouble with. They carve a path of destruction to their target. Not subtle.
Cullexus: souless abomination. Gobbles up psykers for breakfast. Fires beams of antisoul.
Callidus: shape shifter. Armed with a C'Tan fractal edged blade that cuts through everything.
Venenum: kills everyone with poison. Ex: poison the seats of a 1,000 person democratic assembly. They all die of butt poisoning next time they convene.

No. Assassinating them would be.
Exterminatus isn't used unless it has to be. The Imperium has numerous ways of wiping out a relatively small number of people that turned heretic that doesn't involve losing a world.

Not to mention that they are kept in stasis until they reach the ground. There is no reason for them to ever be conscious if they aren't on a job. Mindless slaughter is the only thing that they are capable of.
