Can Frieza defeat a C'tan?

The easiest path for Necron victory is piecing back the C'tan, telling them they're sorry, and then teaming up again just like old times.

They can snuff out stars with an utterance of a word and summon cosmic storms that reduce planets ash.

They were nigh-omnipotent beings.

They are but indirectly. They unknowingly caused the Old Ones to implode into Enslavers when they started squeezing them in the Webway.

Nah, they were reality warpers who extinguish stars with an utterance of a word as well as many other things.

The Emperor beat one.

>Thank you, not quite the outright statement I was hoping for

The outright statement came a long time ago. You guys didn't believe it outta unreasonable bias (picture related). Since 5e and 6e GW has put it certainly that ''life essence'' and life force'' were souls. So the writing was on the wall for everyone to see. *I* might be one of the few opened minded ones who saw this coming.

>glorious Phaeron.

No!

I am no Phaeron. I am but a humble servant of the Phaeron of Phareons Imotekh the STORMLORD!

I swear all the Necrons have to do is piece back the C'tan and tell them they are sorry and then direct them at the Tyranids.

The Nid invasion will be beaten off with no sweat.

Here is a solution for the Nid problem, at least for the Necrons.

Get the shards, glue back the C'tan, tell them you're sorry, and then set them on the Tyranids.

The Nid problem will be cleared out in a few months, a year at most.

>When they weren't getting stomped on by Eldar Gods and hoping to God Old Ones would just get cancer without them having to do anything.

The Old One defeat became the moment the Necrons and C''tan began their death march. Also the Necron Phaerons defeated the Eldar Gods and scored a kill.

Then they drove into the Webway and finished off the Old Ones with the Enslavers.

>>Wars won be Necrons

1 with the C'tan. Two if you counted the Old Ones who were the objective of the war.

>>Galactic Empires maintained by Necrons

1. Their Empire which they ruled for an undefined time.

If anyone got lucky it was the Eldar. If the Necrons remained loyal to the C'tan, they would have been purged soon after their masters death.

>1. Clearly they're aware of souls and the warp to do this, but at the same time they suck at defence against the warp.

It doesn't say they suck against it. They were winning the War against the Old Ones and their psychic races but were laid low by the treachery of the Necrons.

>2. They're never said to be psychic nor having a presence, so how exactly do they devour the souls?

Same way a daemon or a Warp god does. They assimilate the energy into themselves.

>Wouldn't a ton of souls increase their warp signature or give them one?

Possible.

>Wouldn't that attract daemons? Why aren't they under attack from daemons, being possessed, etc.?

Maybe.

(Picture Related). That's how the Warp Horrors were unleashed according to FFG.

>How can they sustain themselves on both stars and souls?

Energy is still energy.

>Can the DE stop torturing slaves and instead start consuming stars to sustain themselves?

They would if they knew how but it's stated that Necron technology is nigh-beyond the Eldar understanding and I assume the knowledge of the C'tan would be twice beyond the Eldar.

>Why is it never said flat out they eat souls (in GW publications)?

They used terminology used constantly for souls.

We will have to wait for the next Newcron codex or Supplement : C'tan to have these pesky worms stamped out.

Also notice who it says the C'tan fed on the life force of the Old Ones.

Life Force means souls in 40K so I guess this FFG is right on this one.

-Devour souls. Check
-Command Warp horrors. Check
-Create Warp anomalies and Warp storms. Check
-Can exist in the Warp. Check

So much for the Warp being the Anathema of the Star Gods. This new fluff is getting stranger with each passing release.

>Pet theory

They send a bio- dependent low-technology race against an impossibly advanced enemy that's not biological and doesn't require anything biological. Did I forget something? Oh yes, picture related.

They did not think this through.

Why don't the Necrons just piece back the C'tan and set them loose on the Tyranids?

That's an obvious and good solution.

''Above each furnace swooped and dove the ethereal true-forms of the C’tan as they glutted themselves on the spiritual detritus of an entire species''

''Though immortality and nigh godlike strength and vigour were his, it had come at the cost of his soul, the effluvial remains of which had already been sucked down the gullet of a circling C’tan''
