I enjoyed it. I've never given any thought to what must go through the minds of Dreadnought marines, much less their specific sense of loss. The closest I think 40k books have mentioned this were Titanicus and the Dread in Soul Hunter. Something that always seemed so terribly sad about Dreads is the notion that time simply passes them by in a nebulous sense, sometimes they sleep for decades or more, but feel as though they've only just been left to sleep. Worse, imagine realizing you've slept for a hundred years and every battle brother you fought alongside and rose through the ranks with has died.
As an aside, I love that someone else knows the name Vercingetorix. Hooray for obscure figures from Gallic and Roman histories.
