>why not kidnap the young one who's yet to hit puberty?
Because even (most) Evil Cults have issues with that.

Hey /tg/ been a lurker here for several years here, and my girlfriend (don't even start) wants to get me something for my birthday coming up. She isn't sure what exactly to get considering the last few presents she got me weren't exactly used like she wanted (namely a 3-ring folder and some card organizers, plus 20 booster packs of magic, which the folder and card organizers have been ignored and the cards put into decks or storage). She keeps bugging me about it, literally asking every 5 hours or so during the day. I'm not sure what her budget is and don't like telling people to give me something specific and was wondering if /tg/ could help compile a list.
Main interests include tabletop gaming, board games, computers, and reading.

"Expediency" is key for sophisticated evil. The ends always justify the means. If it is going to be a lot more of a hassle to bring in a target alive when dead is acceptable, why make more work for yourself?

As others said, you can do nice things for people if you want. Hell, that's almost preferable, since you end up with friendly contacts all over the place who owe you favors. If you're a cleric, start your own cult. If you're a rogue, start up your own thieves' guild. Make connections and occasionally abuse them for personal gain.

Also, it never hurts to give your character a disturbing hobby, like cutting off a finger from people who've betrayed you (think Durant in Darkman)

Adventurers just wrecked your cults' evil lair. Gary and yourself are the only survivors, as you were out getting supplies.
The Sacrificial Alter is devoid of the virgin maiden you went through such PAINS to get, it took you weeks to even find one!, the Summoning Circle is in shambles, and the gold and bejeweled statue of you're patron is missing, probably going to get melted down to fatten the pockets of the damned adventurers that did this! Oh, and the high priest is dead, his gold necklaces also looted, but he was kind of a jerk, so that's fine.

Gary turns to you. "So... now what?"

Some quick rules of survival for the Delta Green Operative:
* Always carry one more magazine than you expect to use.
* The abandoned mine never is.
* Painstakingly sealed refrigerators in the Green Box are probably painstakingly sealed for a purpose.
* If in doubt, empty the magazine.
* Never let your less-than-sane colleague carry the explosives.
* An autopsy-room is not a "safe place".
* Any dark strangers offering you gifts and favors should be avoided like the plague.
* When contemplating ways to execute your mission : think "Overkill".
* Sleep is only a bad substitute for caffeine.
* Always save the last bullet for the moron who got you into this.
* If that moron isn't you, aim for the legs. If you're going to get eaten alive so is he.
* Any offer to let you "Experience the Other Dimensions" should be tactfully declined ... with a shotgun blast.
* If you have no social skills: try "physical interrogation".
* Reading books is for the colleague you keep locked up in the nice room with soft walls.
* There is no such thing as "too many guns".
* Gasoline. Refueling cars is only its secondary use.
* When you enter a government facility and the toilet-doors are marked: "Men", "Women" and "Other" you might want to reconsider your position.
* Old Nazis never die. Period.
* Wimps fondle guns. Real Men fondle Doomsday-devices.

So I want to incorporate a village of Skeletons into my game, but I'm unsure of how to do this without my players going "RAR RAR DESTROY SKELETONS EVIL!"
How do I make a Sympathetic village of skeletons that my players WANT to save?
