The area this fight happened in modern day Belgium, so there may be a slight difference in context.
A quick google reveals that the world thinks that pic related is a goedendag.

>Now imagine getting stabbed at the same time as you're getting burned

I don't think it's really going to be so much more damaging to a person than just getting stabbed to really make the extra effort worth it.

Well, if we're talking realistically. In D&D abstraction it makes sense to do both because a target could easily survive both, but in real life the amount of damage it takes to total a person's "healthbar" is relatively small.

I mean shit, what's that figure for penetration in feudal times? Like two inches of steel in you was enough to kill you all by itself?

In Flanders the French tried to mount a cavalry charge over an open field. Except the field was crisscrossed by irrigation canals.

the Flemish won that one with their goedendags

>whereas the larger two-handed ones are what we call a Godenak, which is a total neologism.
Where on Earth did that get started anyway? As far as I can tell a godendag is supposed to be a two handed club with a top spike, basically the most minimalist sibling in the morgenstern family.

As a fellow Dutchfag:

We're already Wodanborn. Better yet we're purer descendands of the Franks than those faggots who mixed with Celts and Romans in France so a throwing axe is our weapon of choice. Or get a good goedendag

Spikes around the side = morning star. The godendag only has one at the top.

depends on how the wood is treated. You can bash at a plated knight with a staff or club for quite some time before it snaps

Here's a goedendag. They were used by the flemish in a revolt against the french. Goedendag translates to "good day", and the story goes that the rebels were walking through the streets using their goedendags as a walking stick, greeting people by saying "goedendag", and they would kill anyone who answered back with a french accent.
