I've currently started a Deathwatch group with myself as the GM. I've got some spare money and want to buy a new sourcebook, but I can't seem to decide which one to buy. I don't know which book has the most useful stuff in it.
The books I want to choose from are
- The Jericho Reach
- The Achilus Assault
- Honour the Chapter
- The Outer Reach

I play Thousand Sons AND Newcrons because FUCK YEAH EGYPTIAN SHIT. Why fight over whose more egyptian when both can team up and skullfuck everyone else?

10 cultists, shotgun, heavy stubber, 8 autoguns, mark of tzeentch-75
Elites:
3 bikers, lightning claw, gift of mutation, mark of tzeentch, 2 plasma guns, icon of flame-149

that single thousand son squad managed to wipe out 600~ points of space marines while the murder sword insta-killed a tricked out warboss and the cultist champ got turned into a daemon prince after killing a basic nob. ended up losing because both the ork player and the space marine player ganged up on me.

And then all the art is Khorne or Chaos Undivided with spikes and grimaces.

To be honest, under the fairly finished Titan Legion/AdMech armylist rules for Epic Armageddon, triple-turbolasers errywhere is pretty much one of the twinkiest configurations you can get. Although you DO pay a surcharge for having all of your weapons as the same, and unlike in 40k, in Epic you deliniate between Anti-Tank and Anti-Personel but still, each of them chucks out 6 attacks that will hit a tank or fellow titan on a 2+, so if you get a Reaver Titan with nothing but them you're racking up 18 shots a turn.

At the very least this makes it great for stripping the shields of Gargants.

Epic Armageddon is fucking great. Easily one of the best rulesets GW ever made.

Nah. I'd try to set up some sort of rules sheet for people and try to automate as much of it as possible.

That said, I can't really endorse the Epic: Armageddon ruleset enough, it really is one of the best games GW's have ever done.

Alternatively, one of the things I noticed was that if you wanted to run say the Minervan Tank Legion, then there are worse places to get the more obscure tank variants (IE the ones that Forge World used to do before GW told them to stop making Epic stuff) than GHQ's microarmour range.

For instance

Then of course there are the obvious stuff: Wirbelwinds for Hydras, Modern American MLRS's for Manticores, Wespes or Hummels for Basilisks, and SCUDS for Deathstrikes.

For once, GW's habit of making tank designs that are simply plagarised from WW1 or WW2 are finally paying off for us!
