I don't know what he's on about, I've been pretty solid with them. AV 13 is pretty hard to break, especially when charges hit front armour. I use my one as a support piece towards the back of my mechanized army, using its heavy gauss weapon to shoot over shit and hit tanks I want gauss'd to death by my warriors.

It is a support piece, though, more than anything. Remember that when you take it. It's not there to stand out on its own, it's there to make your army better. But, twin-linking a 10-man immortal squad against a termagant unit? Oh, it just feels so good.

Also, because of the specific wording on its rule, it also twin-links your entire force if you field it in an apocalypse game. It'd do the same to your battle brothers, if the necrons had any.

Despite it being played the world over as an extremely competitive game, Games Workshop has refused to build 40k into a game that can withstand competitive play. Most arguments you will hear will come down to this.

People play their game for money, for sport, and for serious mental competition, and despite this the company has not made any effort whatsoever to attempt to include what could easily be their core userbase.

Way back in 4th edition people were complaining about all vehicles being made of paper. The consensus among the well-read and sensible was that 40k is fundamentally flawed, and it can have either paper vehicles or unkillable vehicles, and little in between. The failure of hull points to really remedy situation reinforces that old observation.

I'm sure someone already mentioned him, but Scriptarius and his crazy shit has served us well over the years.
