ITT: bullshit /tg/ believes
>Slaanesh is the god of sex
>the Hive Mind is a god
>the Emperor is anything other than the reincarnated souls of the ancient chamans of Terra
>Tyranids don't draw their psychic powers from the warp at all
>Necrodermis is living metal
>The objective of every single Black Crusade was to conquer the Imperium, to storm Terra and to kill the Emperor
>Dark Eldars are clones
>the first two editions of 40k were goofy parodies of 2000AD comics and were not serious at all
>Squats are not canon anymore
>Everything the orks believe will happen
>Abaddon is incompetent and foolish
>Salamanders have negroid features
>The Adeptus Mechanicus' stance on research and development is entirely negative and unjustified
>40k and WFB are not connected at all

I don't think it's ever officially been retconned, so if you're one of those people who cares about canon... sure, they're in the same universe.

Also, cops could arrest greater deamons, you could literally lose a game becuase you picked the wrong army and they had a certain wargear and assorted other bullshit. 2e had it's cool things, but it wasn't the golden age you remember.

For the record...

It's was meant to be taken seriously. People who say its just a parody just want to rewrite history to suit their misguided views of 40K. They usually play Orks, I noticed.

There is a right way and wrong way to add humor to this setting.

Guess which way you guys are advocating. THE WRONG WAY!

>>23640297
Yes, I do.

It started in Grimdarkness and it will end in grimdarkness.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is either a liar or a fool. Which one are you, I wonder?

"Grimdark" was never used by Games Workshop, it was originally used by people who make fun of 40k.
40k is still tongue-in-cheek.
40k was already serious back in the RT-era.

>RT was a dorky clusterfuck of rip-offs
still supposed to be genuinely grimdark and badass.

Every guy who tries to make general statements about early 40k should read this here:

It has always been the case.

The only time the opposite was said was during a Games Day, when a developer claimed that the two universes were separate.

But frankly, I'm rather taking Rick Priestly's word on that one.
