Sanguinius. I've always liked the faultlessly pure type characters, plus he has wings that are not only functional but absolutely A E S T H E T I C.

Rolled 84 (1d100)

I do like the self-destruction aspect riffed from the Grey Wardens. Explains too why we aren't incredibly daemon killers just by eating hearts. You gotta do some sketchy daemonhost prep-like stuff, then defeat and rip the heart out, then eat it and exorcise it just to make it mortal.
The Rite is saved for vitally important daemons, Dark Valedictors aren't common in the records, and every one Heroes to the Chapter. Someone broke their immortal soul to kill a foe of humanity. They don't even get their rest at the end with the Emperor. That's pretty hardcore. Wouldn't be surprised if even Chapter Masters are respected after them.

Are we setting people on fire too? I mean, I'm cool with that too. Meltaguns and flamers are badass.

Can probably skip a few of the later rolls, those tables go on for a while. But tech seems interesting enough to check.
Also interesting we're such a built-up Hive world despite being a wasteland. Maybe there was once something that made it more habitable, or there's something still of use here.

Can we at least agree that Sanguinius actually did nothing wrong? (Apart from trying to 1v1 Horus)

It is particularly interesting because my field of study is focusing on how the ideas of the Lumières century and the various revolutions of that period actually made total war and violence without border not only a possibility but a norm. Before that war and violence were a common thing in everyday life but the philosopher of that period held that war was an aberration and thus from that grew the idea that if a war should happen it should be a war to end all the other one, justifying extreme violence and the use of any mean and resource at hand to establish what is estimated to be the perfect society which will end all wars.

In short, smite them, smite them all in the name of eternal peace.
