The witch is the air pretty much all the time, which necessitates dakka, lots of dakka, and then more dakka. In the PlanetStrike book, the initial Ork defense of Octarius is described as firing so many rounds into the sky that it was literally impossible to miss the invading tyranids. What I'm thinking is a smaller scale version of that.

A great many squads of lootas, flash gits, and as many shootas as can be found. The horizon should turn green at their approach. The sun should be blotted out, and the sky going dark(er) when they fire, hopefully some shots should hit the target. Familiars should be taken care of by some of the shots that miss.

Supporting them should be killa kans, the grots inside them should be better shots. Battlewagons and looted vehicles of all kinds should provide some more heavy artilery. Many squadrons of flyers and deffkoptas should provide air cover, as well as hopefully trying to avoid friendly fire (and likely failing).

Melee focused troops should help with familiars.

Should be one hell of a spectacle.

I don't like how comedic the orks are portrayed as in a lot of the 40K material. I think they should be darker and scarier to fit the universe better. Does anybody else agree with this?

At minimum, I would like to see...

Reliable, long range anti-tank that DOES NOT HAVE RANDOM STRENGTH. Right now that falls to Kannons and Rokkits, which can only glance AV14 at best on a 6, and glance/pen AV13 on a 5 or a 6

Aside from that...

True looted vehicles would be nice

Making something like the Forge World Mega-Dred the "big kit" though I feel it will probably be the Stompa that we've had for the past few years being put into the new 'dex.

Bring back the 'choppa rule, back in the 3rd ed codex an enemy hit with one couldn't use an armor save greater than 4+. If you have to nerf it bringing it back then give the choppa an AP of 5 or change the rule to where it merely reduces the armor save of the target by 1, making a 3+ a 4+ against it for instance.

Making boyz slugga boyz gives them fleet so they can run and charge

>Slitherine have acquired the exclusive rights to Games Workshop’s “Battle for Armageddon” setting in order to create a series of amazing multiplatform, turn-based, hex-based games. Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon will make full use of Slitherine's expertise in creating compelling and challenging strategy gaming experiences. The initial game is set during the Second War of Armageddon and players will lead the Imperial forces of the Armageddon Steel Legion and Space Marines®from the Ultramarines, Blood Angels and Salamanders Chapters against Ghazghkull Thraka’s massive Ork Waaagh! invasion through over 30 scenarios, on the hostile terrain of the planet and its gigantic Hive Cities.

Can't play as the Orks, apparently, so that kills a lot of the appeal. Still, it's good to see a new 40k game in the works.

Hey /tg/, I'm trying to put together an 850 pt Orks army for my first game. Just wondering if you could look at my list real quick and tell me what you think?

>Big Mek w/ KFF, BP
>Old Zogwort
>11 'Ard Slugga Boyz, PK/BP Nob, Trukk
>29 Slugga Boyz, PK/BP Nob
>24 Shoota Boyz
>"Green Baron" Deff Kopta w/ TL Rokkits

Pretty straight forward strategy. Zogwort and the Sluggas charge, the Trukk drops the smaller mob where it will do the most damage, Big Mek and Shootas follow up just behind to give forcefield and cover fire, Green Baron zooms out ahead for cheap shots on any vehicles that might appear.

Good? Bad? Ugly? Call me out on any shit decisions. Nows your chance to say "are you really *that* new" and not get called out on it. So what are you waiting for?

Hey /tg/ just a quick question - can you, under the allies rules in 40k, take another force of the same faction as an allied detachment? Orks with Orks, Blood Angels with Ultramarines, and so on.

Just looking for a way to get another HQ into my warband lol

Looking for an up to date Ork codex .pdf

/rs/ has failed me. Piratebay has failed me. Everything has failed me. All I can find is the 4th edition rules.

You are my only hope /tg/

I was thinking of adding another elite choice but I don't know what. Maybe Lootas? Maybe Tankbustas? I want some more anti-vehicle stuff in my army.

Also, Ork general if you want.

Ok, /tg/. Serious question. How viable do you think an RPG using the Dark Heresy/Deathwatch/Rogue Trader ruleset is where the PCs play as Orks.

I've always thought this would be an interesting idea ever since Gorkamorka came out

> What do you guys think is still salvageable from the new expansions, books, comics and whatnot?

All characters that had any decent motivation at all have been killed or changed so much that they have lost purpose.

Thrall, Lothar, Grom and Uther were the only believable three chars Blizzard has ever written into the lore. All of them are dead except Thrall, who was Blizz's poster-boy from his invention up until recently when he gave up Warchief to become the Earth Warden. Even so, the piece of the storyline with him and Aggra was decent, but as for where it goes from here is unknown. The idea of him having a Son is a pretty good start, but if the kid turns out anything like Med'an...

Everyone else is either so unhuman or old / powerful that it's impossible to relate to them in any way at all. Example (http://www.wowwiki.com/Meryl_Felstorm) has been alive 3000 years - his scope on events would be literally impossible for someone to comprehend. Yeah, he can relate to other people in the story, but those chars are so unrelatable themselves that it's a moot point (See Dragon Aspects / races who live to be ancient / all the demigods).

Also Varian doesn't count because of his split-personality-internal-struggle bullshit. "BRO AM I KING OR AM I LO'GOSH? I DUNNO BRO, BUT I GOT THESE SWORDS AND I HATE SOME ORCS." Sad part is Thrall could have ended up like that with the aspects and shit, but luckily he didn't.

Only saving grace left besides Thrall's kid is going to be Garrosh. Saurfang might have made it in there but they kind of already did his shit. I expect him to have a glorious death eventually much like Brox.
