>tfw haven't worked on my dudes or my DIY Archmagos project in months
I feel ashamed. I should also probably reword this pasta to sound more proper. Either way, here goes my dudes.

They're tasked with restoring ancient blueprints recovered by the exploratory fleets of the Adeptus Mechanicus and deliver functioning prototypes for the tools and weaponry they recreate.
The planet has been surrounded and under siege by Orks from every side for millennia, holding their ground against the never-ending green tide. This generations long conflict and the breaking of several Waaghs trying to prove their dominance over the remaining Ork warbands in the sector by finally krumping the AdMech, their forge has taken on a reputation as being able to constantly keep (re)building everything and anything, as the experimental tools of war they reclaim from the blueprints are always tested on whichever Ork Klan is currently buzzing around the planet's surface.
This has led to the peculiar development that the Ork's influence and opinion that it's possible for them to get everything to work actually does cause every blueprint they attempt to rebuild does, in fact, work. While inside the Orks' psychic influence.
The moment any prototype leaves the sector, the practically immediately fall apart, effectively delivering a heap of scrap to their superiors on Mars. This has caused Archmagos Tolra Darus to be in a near constant state of anger and fury against the "damn sabotaging Greenskins", fully unaware that it is merely their subconscious opinion of the World that causes things to work and also stop working.
Nonetheless, him constantly being ripped of chances to climb into the higher echelons of the AdMech and not gaining additional support from Mars itself caused Darus to make the fight against the Orks a personal vendetta, constructing a personal assault frame in order to take on any Warboss challenging his Forge World himself and venting his anger against them that way.

Let's get this thread rolling!

My AdMech dudes are from Forge World Aldris VII.

Gonna make an updated army-shoot once my Kastelans are done.

>tfw have army fluff pasta on PC but am not at home
It's a Forge World called Aldris VII.

The tl;dr is that they are constantly fighting Orks using new old tech, the Orks think that they keep building all kinds of wonky shit, making the things they do build function at absolute perfect, peak performance as long as they're in the system but immediately fall apart when things are flown out, making every Tech-Priest and especially the Archmagos live in a constant state of anger that the Orks keep "sabotaging" their shit.

Have a pretty old, outdated image because I have a bunch of stuff in /wip/ state that would look dumb with the rest.

My AdMech dudes are Archmagos Tolra Darus and his chucklefucks from Aldris VII

They're a Forge World tasked with restoring and prototyping any reclaimed blueprints for Mars and their allied Forge Worlds. They're also surrounded by several systems full of Orks that have been in a constant siege with their World, only able to survive for that long by getting to test the ancient tech they're working on against the poor Orks. Due to that long-ass time of surviving, the Orks have turned to the habit of acknowledging that "Da metal boyz fix everyfing" and made it a competition to try and challenge them. Because of that sentiment, the Orks are directly influencing the research and development Aldris VII does, actually helping them (unknowingly to both sides) with their prototypes. The catch is, due to the Ork influence 'fixing' things after basically just slapping some screws into a metal box, these prototypes work wonders on-planet but, as soon as they leave system for Mars, fall apart. Since Darus has no idea that the prototypes themselves never worked to begin with, he's constantly suspecting Ork sabotage mid-flight and has serious anger problems towards them for always messing with his work and preventing him from getting a promotion and enough support to clean the sector of Orks. That has gone far enough to now have him go to the field himself and challenge any Ork Warboss setting foot on the planet to smash their heads in with his Power Mace.

Pic related is a (somewhat outdated because the Kataphrons and other 5 Skitarii are finished) image of my first batch of dudes. Currently building the Archmagos and painting up some more Skittles.

Posted them before but people liked them and I refined them a bit more:

Forge World Aldris VII

It's located in the middle of an almost entirely ork controlled sector and has been fighting against their adversaries for millennia now. Their role in the great machine of the Adeptus Mechanicus is a role of restoration on rediscovery. After an explorator fleet returns with newly diacovered blueprints, that are deemed impossible to recreate as they are, Aldris VII is tasked with restoring the blueprint in a manner that allows the use of whatever item was found and then delievering the prototype and updated blueprint back to the Tech-Priests of Mars to refine themselves and enable mass production.

AdMech. Metallica is a pretty cool theme. And I also like to think that my own guys look decent.

That and the edges don't really look sharp.

White is always a bit fiddly and you probably shouldn't use plain white for large areas in the future and stick to off-white, highlighted by pure white (I like Palid Wych Flesh with a White Scar highlight, personally. Pic related).
Using pure white quickly looks very chalky and thick, even if applied in several almost fully liquid layers.
My guys are far from perfect and the white still looks too uneven and thick for my tastes, and I had to use 2 coats of Rakarth Flesh as a base and 3-4 coats of Palid Wych to even get things covered.

Finally finished my army for tomorrow apart from those last bases!

Hooray, can't wait to be tabled because it'll literally be my first AdMech game.

Alrighty, finished my army for tomorrow. Not going to do the crackle paint for the remaining Kataphrons since I don't want to risk it not drying in time for tomorrow morning.

Really like how they turned out and changing the front plate and hip metal to white was definitely the right call, thanks for convincing me to that when I posted the original scheme.

Now to finish the remaining 5 Skitarii and the Plasma Culverins for the next tourney to bring a better list with more bodies. Because like hell am I gonna bring unpainted models.

Huge-ass image but its better than dumping 5 posts IMO.
