Thanks OP. This is an interesting way to generate characters. I've had a Conan the Barbarian type character in mind for a while now, so this motivates me to go make this lusty demon hunter/ charismatic gentleman who can't stop singing of his own exploits while squatting 2d4 chainmail bikini-babes.

Some of the best changes, in my opinion, have been made to the Skill system. They work very similarly to Passion Attributes, adding dice only to applicable situations. Attempting something you're unskilled in merely requires twice the number of successes as normal. With all Attributes and Skills capped at 9, it's actually less of a challenge to build competent characters than in Riddle.

Yup, that's what I'm looking for. Tabletop rules won't do it since they're mostly skirmish level and a mass combat would consume an aweful lot of time. Is there any ruleset specifically designed for 1000+ troops on each side?
