You are Captain WILLIAM PIERCE, a combat rescue officer of the United States Air Force!

When you landed at Lviv, you figured that things didn't look as bad as they seemed. Sure, the streets were practically empty save for roving police patrols due to emergency curfews, and the airport was closed to all but military and aid flights. You didn't even get a good chance look at the city. The moment you stepped off the transport, you were all immediately hustled off to a fleet of waiting chinooks, these ones bearing the emblem of the United Nations rather than the USAF.

However, the the situation quickly changed as you flew further east. Below, you could see the roads choked with countless vehicles and bodies as refugees fled west to escape the nuclear holocaust. You felt helpless having to see things from above.

"How horrible..." Janice mutters as she looks out the small viewport.

"It just never ends." Red adds in.

"And these are just the people fit enough to move." Tarin mutters. "It's going to be worse when we get to Poltava."

>You shouldn't talk like that, Tarin.
>You're most likely right.

Okay here's the deal. I missed a session due to being so sick I puked more than I ate. So I missed a session of first edition D&D. While I was gone the new DM had the party encounter rust monsters. The thief (1st edition) and cleric then stripped to loincloths and boxed he two rust monsters to death. The DM rules that since there's no damage listed on its stat block and hat it's antenna are only listed as affecting metal that they did 0 damage and couldn't fight back. I'm trying to convince him that that is utter bullshit and that the cleric and their should have taken acid damage from punching the rust monster (because pic related says that items hitting the rust monster are affected as if they were touched by the antenna). How should I convince him about it and make it so he can't be taken advantage of in later games?

Here's the stat block of the green dragon. The thieves special sword is a longsword (apparently you can make backstabs with a longsword). Longswords do 1d12 to large creatures, this one does double damage to large so 2d12. Thief backstab damage triples that so 6d12.

Roll20 and the Game Finder General here on /tg/ are both places where games could be found. With the new edition, though, chances are more games will crop up. Keep your eyes peeled.

ITT: post your OriginalCharacterDoNotSteal rendered in Heroforge

I've been having a bit of fun with Heroforge lately. Anyone actually bought anything from them? What's the quality?

I've heard that even the good-quality ones come out kinda rough; you wouldn't want to paint them; they look better as bare plastic.

Its a fun tool though; I remember using the Spore creature creator more than actually PLAYING Spore. Same thing here.

Last saturday i was gm'ing a black crusade game. Players are on a huge space hulk, searching for an ancient STC, come down to hydroponics and discovers it's a huge biodome with forests, fields and it's own atmosphere.

They see medieval style farms, they enter and see peasants around a firepit, as they enter all the peasants grab the plasma guns at their side and points them nervously at the party.

At this point the party is rather surprised, but they decide to talk down the peasants. Turns out that they live off the lands by harvesting wheat from the fields and foraging plasma guns from the forest, one of the younger peasants runs the point home when he opens a sack and empties several plasma guns to the floor.

While the party do further inquiries into these plasma guns, Arseus, i'm not shitting, that's his name, decides to go outside exploring the little farm. He finds the peasants space cows grazing close by..
>and decides he wants to eat them
>when he knows he in a small farm community where everyone has plasma guns
>the entire party groans when he describes how he kills Bessy the prize space cow
>party is now facing 20 farmers with plasma guns, one whom is shouting BESSY! from the bottom of his lungs
>Arseus get's melted
>rest of the party survives solely due to peasants can't handle being pinned for shit

Goddamnit, i didnt plan this to be an encounter...

Huron rolls d3 (minimum of 1) so the huge marine squad will always be able to infiltrate and maybe a cultist squad, or both. Or the ICs can band together to form a unit (pg166 or small form rules) and infiltrate, but I don't immediately see a use case where that can succeed.

I'd really be pressing my collection for bikes though. I'll have to strip and then convert several space marine bikes, hopefully not have to dip into the DV bikes which seem like they would be really difficult to convert

So far I have been madly in a love with the setting of this game. It's very similar the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl setting though a a Roadside Picnic has left a larger impact on me.

I'm currently trying figure out the diceless system. It's defiantly the game's weakest point but only because most people like dice in there game.

I'm really hoping to find other who are into it and want to further expand the setting

So basically in the last session i was killed by a vampire blood drain so I'm going to rise as a vampire. Now the question is, both I and the master remember that a new vampire rises 1d4 days after the burial, but the monster manual only talks of this days about vampire spawn created by energy drain. Do we remember bad? Or there was a correction and we remember that? It appears strange that a vampire spawn from energy drain rises 1d4 days after and one from blood drain doesn't. If you find a rule different from the one in the monster manual please post source.

The second sentence of that ability does not alter the number of days, it only shows that blood drain can make a vampire instead of a vampire spawn. It is still 1d4 days.

So, do you have 4HD? (that is, 4 class levels if playing as a standard humanoid)

if not you might want to use savage species type template where basically you take "vampire levels" as you rise from spawn to full vampire. (in effect, for the purpose of HD calculations, vampire HD already counts as vampire levels.
So lets say you were a fighter 7 when you got turned. You are now a Fighter 7/Vampire 4 for a total of 11HD for anything that relates to HD (ex, susceptibility to enemy magic, calculating BAB, calculating XP gain from battle, etc)

Your pod sits in the silence of space over a Union world, soaking in the news broadcast from the surface. It is a slow news day for the most part, with reruns of old interviews and coverage spliced into a short documentary seemingly intended to fill extra time. An image of the Clarke as it drifts from dock can be seen, as well as the Hope in a nearby berth. It cuts to an old interview, and you see Lee sitting across from a reporter.

“It says in the official report that you were rescued by native life.” The reporter asks. “Could you tell us a bit about that?” Lee looks quickly between him and the camera.

“You mean the natives? They seemed nice enough. They looked like giant bugs.” He holds his hand up several feet from the floor. “About so high, four legs, two arms. They didn’t seem to use tools but it looked like they didn’t need to. Dr. Seiner said he thought that was one of the reasons they seemed to intelligent, but lacked any signs of invention.”

“My understanding is that they have a kind of queen, like an ant colony.” The reporter leans forward slightly in his chair as Lee shifts awkwardly. “According to the reports, you were the only one to have actually seen it in person. I was hoping you could tell us more about that.”

Before I look you do realize they are barrel people right? Something like that would be piss poor in non low gravity environments.

>> No.40317510

>>40317441
Yeah, I realize that. But even barrels should roll fine up just about anything when you've got arms that can push 2000kg at a time, legs that are each capable of handling 3 times your weight and are tipped with prehensile claws that can dig into concrete.

I do feel rather silly now though, I'd forgotten they were low-gravity.

So I'm bored at work and have access to supplies for simple bookbinding. Pic related, was last night's attempt.

I'm thinking of making a spellbook prop, got any advice on what to write it in, as well as what to write?

If age truly conferred wisdom then why is it that every supposed wiseman my group runs into is either a senile old hobo or a failed middle aged drunken adventurer missing a few limbs. While all the supposed ignorant people are younger, far more successful, and seemingly know a great deal about life?
