Granted I haven't finished reading Edge of Oblivion, but knowing how it ends, it kinda sounds like a one-way trip for the Final Sanction Kill Team.

A perfect segue into a brand-new group of Marines showing up all at once to play a long-term campaign. "The Sacrifice of your fellow Battle-Brothers on Avalos was great, but they died slaying the Emperor's enemies and protecting his children, you should be proud to continue their legacy."

Speaking of the Final Sanction kill team, I'm building minis of them as an exercise in boredom. In the future if I end up running an actual campaign, I might make minis of the player's characters as well. Though since I'm a novice I might have someone else paint them, I dunno.

Planning to take a change of pace in Battlefleet Gothic from my all Cruiser IN list.
Building a Tyranid Vanguard fleet.

Squadron a: 12 Kraken all with Batteries 480 points

Squadron b: 12 Kraken all with Batteries 480 points

Squadron c: 6 Vanguard drones with Tentacles 6 with Battaries 250 points

Squadron d: 5 Vanguard drones with Tentacles 6 with Battaries 250 points

1485 points total.

Plan do use the 2 Kraken squadrons as sledge hammer units (will they work for this at all) just going straight for the biggest targets and blasting them into oblivion. I'll use the Vanguards to run up the flanks and harass/distract lesser targets.

If you're actually playing low-point games I'd go for more swarms and fewer big-point units. More fun, more balanced, less luck-dependent.

But by the time you get up to 1500 pts those will be alright.
