Just wondering:

http://www.cosmicfingerprints.com/ifyoucanreadthis.htm

I'm sure there are some flaws here, but eh, as usual with these kinds of "carefully constructed" arguments or "evidence," I found it TL;DR.

How does /sci/ explain this is bullshit?

its not arrogant at all, its pretty counter intuitive to find that the light we see are represented arbitrarily and are really just reflections of light; totally unlike a god who both claims to love you but will send you to a place of infinite pain and suffering if you do not love him back.

not implying there is always a arguement with a base but adding insults to a solid argument does not invalidate it, in fact criticizing it on that basis is an actual fallacy

numbers dont 'exist' they are constructs, axioms, assumptions, words, we define them as our own universe, but there is nothing intrinsic about them in our universe, they are used merely to define. Pythagorus and the greeks thought these numbers and perfect shapes existed in a parallel universe.

its not a stumbling block its retarded, theres no way to observe or sense it and it has no affect on the physical world, therefore it doesn't exist. to assert that it does requires you to just as easily accept that there is a 3rd layer called the sexuality, where the essense of everyones gender and sexual pleasure is expressed. I know this is true because i felt it in my heart. its an absurd proposition anyone of sound mind will reject, the only reason people accept the claims of the former is the have to, they have to believe in their god, and therefore no matter how stupid they know it is they have to believe in what he says. no matter if god IS telling him their baby deserves to burn for all eternity in the most painful existence ever unless she worships him, they have to believe that child deserves it. because the opposite, to not accept that bullshit, is to face the elephant in the room, it would destroy them.

believe me, if scientists where represented more heavily in the government the world would not be perfect, but i can tell you it would be a lot better than it is. the reason the world is shit is because we allow religious biggots and greedy assholes into positions of political power. thats why there are starving people, christians are too busy trying to spread aids in Africa and kill all these 'faithfull' worshipers to not be considered a less malevolent parasite on them than modern countries.

so let me get this straight, Jesus walks on the scene, tells us that he must BLOOD SACRIFICE KILLING SOMEONE JUSTIFIES YOUR ERRORS for our sins because of something we did that you just agreed is nothing but a flowery meaningless metaphor for nothing? fuck you! the bible may be a set of books but many reference each other. the whole Jesus story relies on a fall you just told us never fucking happened.

besides copying and writing books. let me put it to you this way, common medical and anatomy instructions faithfully copied by monks erroneously tell people that the human male has one less rib than the female because of adam's rib becoming eve. it took till the renaissance before people would drop that bullshit and everything associated with that medical book, so tell me, if no one really believed that crap why where people killed over it and why did they make it part of their medical books when any casual examination of a skeleton would tell you otherwise?

oh and i just remembered, the king who gave joseph the census to deliver to another king, wasn't even anointed before the latter one fucking died. the bible is chock full of historical inaccuracies all through out it, not just in genesis.

bullshit, there's not any evidence of the city of Nazareth even existing at the time of Jesus. theres no town there till 200 BCE and they kept very good fucking maps. how can you call this historically accurate? there are more accounts of Atlantis than Nazareth during the time of jesus, and the location sits next to a fucking jewish tomb,

the literal interpretation is the only one that makes sense, and the only interpretation that was allowed for over a thousand of years of god fearing christians. just because we dragged Christians kicking and screaming sometimes with their own help does not mean that modern concepts like this where always part of their religion, its preposterous to suggest it. and since they are not part of their religion in whole they cannot truly be considered tenants.

further more, if you are going to try and force the bullshit down my throat parts of the bible like genesis is a flower metaphor when only 400 years ago they where burning people as witches, then why the fuck should anything in the bible be taken seriously. if the accounts of genesis metaphor or not are so divorced from reality and this is considered acceptable, then theres no reason to suggest any of the illustrious claims in the bible are true. certainly none are anywhere near as fantastic.

sure there is, A, there is no increase in chance for 'miracles'. in other words, praying does not statistically affect your chances of what you are praying for to happen and B. whenever by chance it does happen, it is never something that could only be explained by prayer.

whatever the case, it doesn't matter, the power suggested in the bible is much grander and universal. instead, not only are lifting mountains 'off limits', you cannot even lift a pencil star-wars style. if you are a literalistic reading the bible there is no reason why you should not be able to do those things. rational for why you cant is separate from it, no requirement except for devotion is given, I highly doubt no Christian is devoted.
