Instead of time maybe it has something to do with the planet's speed? Earth's still moving over 100,000km/h through space so objects here aren't truely stationary. When they move through space they move through Earth's spacetime curvature, therefore falling down?

I don't understand gravity. The popsci explanation is that it's created by the curvature of spacetime and objects aren't actually attracted to one another but are only following that curvature. But that only explains why objects that are already moving fall down. Why would a stationary object follow that curvature and fall? If I drop a pen, where is that force coming from to push it down? Is it because they're moving through time? Please help

Does anyone here have a job where they do not have to talk to anyone at all?

I'm getting my math degree next year and I want a job like that. I don't care about making less money than I would if I had jock social skills, I just care about being able to eat and help my friend financially, so anything that pays me >= 70K/y after a year or two is fine by me.

Ok for context, im a brain dead retard who plays mmo’s all day. Im having a hard time understanding a concept and hoping someone could clarify.

Say the base drop rate for an item in game is 1/100. So a 1% chance at getting that specific drop.

Now say you’re in an in game clan with a few dozen other people. Say one person in that clan actually gets the 1/100 drop that you were looking for. Does that decrease your chances at getting the 1/100 drop the same day?

I know the answer is technically no since every individual roll is 1/100 no matter what, but how does context not affect probability in this case?

You simply cannot deny the fact that one person getting the 1/100 drop rate is unlikely as it’s only 1% chance, however it is even more unlikely that someone else within the same clan also receives the same drop on the same day. So if someone else from the clan gets the 1% drop, doesn’t that not decrease my odds of getting the same 1% drop on that same day ever so slightly?
