Well /sci, I'm an IT major, originally thought about doing applied mathematics based off of recommendation of college professors, therapists, teachers, etc all throughout my childhood. I'd like to expand my knowledge of mathematics now to somewhere that satisfies my... addiction. Topped out at AP Calc 2 before I gave it up because i took a stand against the unwavering wall of boredom that math brought to me. Nothing truly was a challenge in the problems I've faced. I need some recommendations on places to go to actually challenge me in the search for knowledge. I need something, anything, that will give me some satisfaction.

As stated, quit at calc. Need somewhere that will give me formulas for use in the problems or that will challenge me to create my own formula. Thanks, sorry if this is against the rules.

Man stop just because others are not are not as "smart" as you. That dosent let you talk down to others. Also your probably some special education. Kid thinks hes is edgy for using 4chan. So stop man me having ADD and OCD and a plethora of others learning disabilities. I don't need drugs to function and I am easily as smart as any other person. So stop talking down on others and learn.

I don't mean AGW in particular, but rather the notion that the environment is fucked and we're going to start having big problems. The concept of AGW in particular isn't important.

Happily, my mistake is easily identified upon review of the above. Between two posts, I started consistently replacing the correct "5727" term from >>7972063 , with the incorrect "5257", which was then reproduced consistently throughout >>7972292
>>7972338 and >>7972503 . Upon double checking, the rest of what I did still looks right to me. Especially since I can now plug in the corrected C+ and C- (replace per the above), and end up with this, which agrees with the earlier "solver". The imaginary parts in this case still cancel nicely.

So I'm satisfied that I have used the formula >>7970829 , together with appropriate choices of ks in the De Moivre representation earlier, to arrive at a closed-form representation one of OP's three roots (pic related). Specifically, the single negative one among its three distinct real roots.

>It's just application of the chain rule
But the author takes it so far out of the context of the book (teach basic calculus) that it's just unhelpful and distracting. If he wanted to show that the chain rule is useful in other fields, he should've picked literally anything else besides special relativity.

Here is projectile equation. Can also be used for most velocity equations.
d = (1/2)gt^2 + vt

d is distance (in this case height)
g is gravity (on earth 9.81 m/s^2)
v is starting velocity
t is time

Also, please convert everything to meter, meters/second, ect.

Dont use imperial system unless you like to get assfucked

Remember that throughout its flight, as long as you negate air friction, potential energy + kinetic energy are always the same.

Example:
PE1 + KE1 = PE2 + KE2

Freshman Physics Major here

It should come down at the exact same speed. Considering we are taking out the affect of air and wind.

What does /sci/ think about the release of the 'independent' test of Rossis Cold Fusion Reactor?

well that's the thing our stupid math program relies solely on the teacher to teach. The books only give you problems. No explanations on anything.
>>5780452
I don't have any exact problems on me at the moment, but we're doing stuff like finding the domain and range of an equation, solving inequalities using sign graph method...

I'm doing horrible in math. We're doing pre-calc stuff and I understand it somewhat and can follow along in class or one on one with the teacher, but I do horrible on tests and quizzes (fail most of them) and it's really hurting my grade. Any suggestions on what I can do?

I would guess that if there is life on any of those planets that they would make contact with us before we had any chance to right?
