Thank you very much, going to do what you said.

Hmm, thank you for the answer. High school fag here, very interested in math, if it does not bother you, could you recommend a book for me?

What /sci/ think of "Euclid's Elements"? Should I read it? Should I go to another book?

Pic unrelated

thank you, I think I've made up my mind for mech eng, this has been really helpful. Genuine thanks to everyone ITT. What did you study?

Imperials ranked higher than both for engineering, but no one seems to have heard of it

Is imperial college london known of in the USA/globally?

i asked, but i was only able to talk to students, and none had tried/knew of anyone who wanted too.

I have no idea if such a system exists in the uk, but i suppose there's no harm in asking when i get there, and if i cant, i'll just read online?

We dont have a minor system, thats why i enquired. Occasionally you can couple degree's, like science and philosophy, but instead of recieving 2 degree's its like one where you aren't fully taught about either, like doing two half degree's. and this is rare anyway, i cant do a physics, engineering combined course.

Thank you, its helpful just to talk about it, when i try to think about it on my own my head just gets flooded with different ideas

I'm swinging towards mech eng here, the future prospects and broadness do seem more appealing. This may seem a naive question, but do you think i should study mech eng at uni, and study the aspects of physics i enjoy in my own time? How does the major/minor system in america work>

There's more topics in physics that interest me, but more that extremely bore me too, do you think i should take it as i find it the most interesting, or not risk it, as i enjoy mech eng more. its a interesting vs enjoying thing, i'm mesmerised by stuff i learn in physics, but the hands on aspects are uninteresting, in engineering the stuff i read isn't that interesting, but the practicle side is very enjoyable.

I've tried something similar to this, but my choice changes depending on the day. I apologise for being so difficult, its just my future depends on this.

I know this will sound immature, but quantum, atomic structure, thermodynamics. but relativity and electronics bore me, as do waves.

I have littel tendancy though, i love them both. Do you regret your choice of degree?

yeah, 6th form is just before uni. The problem is, most of the physics that interests me isn't available as mech eng courses..

>> No.4060370 [View]

i guess i should do more research, i just have the problem of having been taught physics before, but never had the chance to take a mech eng lesson.

the % carbon in pig iron compared to integeral strength stuff, thats what seemed boring to me..

>> No.4060306 [View]

>>4060301
That sounds kinda like me, although i do find phsyics more interesting, i cant see myself being anything other than an engineer. Its mainly the tediousness of some of the stuff you learn in mech eng thats putting me off though

which was most enjoyable/interesting?

oh, sorry, just basically means have you done either at uni? have you taken either course?
