I think this thread proves otherwise, if I'm honest. If there genuinely wasn't interest, I wouldn't post, but as long as there is I will continue.

The 4chan 2013 Winter Cup begins this friday at 18:00 GMT. I propose we only have one thread for the duration of the cup, which shall be this one. Both moot and mods have made posts saying the cup is not forbidden, so please do not ruin the thread with sages saying you hate it, as then we'll just have to make another one. Thank you.

We are in group E, a fairly open group, though the teams in it aren't the best. I expect us to qualify, probably top, but obviously anything can happen. We have a few new players, such as Intellectualism and Secret Italian Supercat.

Please do not link the stream or /vg/ thread in this one. Both are easy to find through the wiki.

There is still discussion over when the other group stage games will take place. I will post the date and time in here when a decision has been made.

I admit to samefagging. I was trying to bump the thread in a way that wasn't obvious I was samefagging. I realise in hindsight it was a bad idea. However, this is the only time I have done this.

And as I have repeatedly stated, I never saw that thread when it was actually around. That's all there is to it.

Seriously, it's not a very strong group. /fit/ are a bit of an unknown due to a new manager, but their formation is nothing special. I don't particularly fear anyone in the group, except maybe /vg/, who very occasionally decide to be unstoppable and win by 5 goals.

I reckon we do have a chance. Our group is fairly easy, and as long as we qualify top, we should get a fairly easy game in the first knock out round. After that it's pretty tough, as we will probably be playing the winner of the group of death. And if we can win that, we should easily be able to win the last two matches.

TL;DR As long as we come top of our group and have a bit of luck in the quarter final.

Almost forgot. There might be a cup with the most popular teams in. It would be nice if /sci/ were involved so Anti-Intellectualism guy can't say the board hates the cup. So vote.

Merry Christmas /sci/. I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I'd update you all.

We only managed to draw in our friendly with /3/, meaning we are in pot 3 for the Winter Cup, which is at the start of February. The new signings (Secret Italian Supercat and Sun of Ice) are settling in well, and there may be some more new players if enough people want them. I changed our non-Bill goalhorn to The Elements Song, and was hoping to get some opinions on it from the friendly, however, only Bill scored, so it never played.

Any comments/suggestions welcome. And as always, and offers for testers will be gratefully accepted.

Super Italian Super Cat is joining the squad, replacing Troll Science as a goalkeeper due to his horrendous display in the Autumn Babby.

Anybody got any requests for players?

Just letting you know I think you're doing an awesome job man. Congrats on getting us back into the big time, and everyone knows we were robbed against /mlp/.

We are currently about half way between the Autumn Babby Cup and the next round of friendlies. No match has been arranged yet, as I am still deciding who to play, as it's a very important match. As things stand we will be in pot 2 for the Winter Cup, however, if we lose our friendly then there are three teams that could overtake us, sending us down to pot 3. Winning against a very poorly ranked team might not even be enough, based on who /x/ play. My initial calculations show we need to beat a team ranked 32nd or higher, based on /x/ playing the highest ranked team, /sp/. I will decide and challenge a team within the next few days.

Next on the agenda is the matter of new players. Giant Italian Super Cat is definitely coming in, and I am willing to consider any suggestions.

Finally, if anyone wants to help in any way, please contact me through the /vg/ thread. There is always one up, just make a post and I'll respond.

I'm not being scared away. I said 'safest', not 'best', as these threads have a tendency to be deleted, whereas /vg/ threads are there for days, and even if I miss something one of the other managers will alert me.

If anyone ever wants to contact me, it's probably safest to do it through the /vg/ thread. Just go to the 4chan catalogue /vg/ page and ctrl-f 'cup' and you'll find it.
