I didn't say they are reportable. But they are off-topic spam. And stop using the shitposters' fallacy. Just because /sci/ is full of spam, no one has the right to post more spam.

Documentaries are pop sci and not real science. They belong to /tv/. /sci/ is for the discussion of scientific and mathematical theories.

>> No.4508733 [View]

Not science or math. Neither documentaries nor circle-jerks belong here. Stop off-topic posting.

Don't bump a thread that violates the rules. Use sage.

Please refrain from shitposting.

Doesn't change the fact that it doesn't belong here.

No homework threads on /sci/.

Posting homework on /sci/ is a rule violation.

All you need is multiplication and addition. If this is too hard for you, you're wrong in university.

Yes, it is off-topic. You do neither ask nor explain scientific mechanisms, your question is about costs. That's not science and can be asked on any dedicated forums out there.

>> No.4472199 [View]

No homework threads on /sci/. If you can't handle elementary school math, it's time for you to drop out.

Do you not want /sci/ to become a better place? Is your intention to further reduce /sci/'s quality? Well then you are a shitposter and should better spend your time somewhere else.

4chan has 15 global rules and /sci/ 3 local rules. There is no rule 19.

Oh wow, you're such a cool troll, dude. /irony

Threads have bump limit. My deleted posts were saged and did not contribute. Their deletion does not affect the thread. I did not make this thread popular. There are a few shitposters who think it's funny to bumpt it. These can't be taken serious as they intend to shit up /sci/. Probably they are the same guys who post religion threads. And then there are some posters who want to discuss the issue I brought up. Those should use sage.

I regularly contribute to actual science threads. I do so anonymously, like it should be. The tripcode is only for calling out shitposters in off-topic threads.

*you're

There's a difference between new people making a board "fresher" and people shitting up a board that used to be better.
I am not a minority regarding the fact of being annoyed by off-topic spam. Most serious posters who come here for science and math feel the same way. Maybe I get so few support ITT, because people already know me for being able to be good at handling discussions with shitposters.

>>4451297
So that "trolls" who only want to bump the thread for the purpose of annoyance can't reference them.

Why would you waste your time with such a pointless activity? You are not "trolling" anyone but yourself.

>>4451257
There are other boards that manage to have mainly on-topic threads. Since /sci/ claims to be the smartest board of 4chan, I don't see a reason why its users shouldn't be able to improve the board's quality.

>>4451261
I did not bump the thread. I put sage in my email field every time.

It is important to raise awareness of the issue. Only this way OP and potential other off-topic posters can know that this kind of posts is wrong. If I left, this thread would have got a lot of replies from underage sci fi kids and it would have given them the false impression that what they do is welcome here.
I did however not bump the thread. By saging I don't slow down its 404. Only when addressed and asked questions, I do of course respond.

This is like saying a ">tfwngf" thread or a religion thread is scientific because it could be derailed by science posts.
The original post was unscientific and off-topic. That makes the thread bad. If you want to discuss a specific science topic, make a thread about it. If you don't know any specific topic but have a general idea of what you want to learn, you can still start a thread asking for more information on scientific theories in said field. But making a thread purely about fantasy, speculation, fiction and opinions and then expecting it to become scientific is seriously stupid and harms the board.
From the last sentence of your post I can see that you resort to "trolling" now. I hope for you to give up this attitude.

I can confirm that I am genuinly not trolling. Your thread is not scientific and an invitation for underage sci fi kids to post irrelevant garbage. This is not what science is about. /sci/ should be more academic. Your scenario is not of scientific nature. It asks for personal opinions and uneducated speculations without scientific basis. A thread on /sci/ should discuss scientific or mathematical theories/problems/concepts etc.

*your

I am a poster that comes here for science and math. This is what /sci/ is dedicated to. The huge number of off-topic threads annoys me.

>>4451154
Well, I'm gonna delete my posts.

Obviously he got banned for violating the rules.

1. OP did not post any hypothesis.
2. Science is way more than just brainstorming. Please educate yourself regarding the scientific method.

I am none of these. I am a normal poster. If I had any powers, I would have improved /sci/'s quality by now and threads like this one would not exist.
