I always wanted to know if this would work, say we mined an asteroid and produced trillions of solar panels and then placed them on a tidally locked hot selena in orbit around like ... a big star.

And then run a big cable from that planet to like, a space station or something.

I know its retarded, but would it work? Just in the retarded " I wonder what would happen if ... " sorta way.

This is hurting my brain. But i think i understand the premise. However im reluctant to write off the extra dimensional properties that are implied with the transference of energy through contracted space time.

How the fuck isn't there an extra dimension at play? You're moving THROUGH a contraction of space time. Thats not possible outside of the intersecting event horizons of colliding black holes.

And even then, the fabric of space is contorted in a way we aren't really sure we comprehend, even in hypothesis. I just don't understand how it would work unless you were actually subjecting the box's particles to a separate set of physical properties.

Ok, hang on .. i think i kinda see where you're coming from, the contraction isn't a variable? Only the transference of energy.

........ this is complex

Well, you're subject to the parameters of the dimension you're currently in. The other side of the portal is also subject to those same boundary and conditional parameters.

Its only the space in between thats not, so if you aren't moving in reference to the other side, why would you be travelling at the speed of the extra dimension for which you aren't subject in reference to your dimension?

So, what exactly is happening? In the electromagnetic level?

If its an extra dimension thats propelling the portal wouldn't you be a point a reference in respect to said dimension and so NOT move in any way?

>That concept

Jesus christ my brain, but its like asking 'how can santa deliver all those presents in one night?'

You can dream up any explanation and rationalization you want but ultimately the premise is flawed and therefore so is any conclusions you reach using any fallacious logic you choose.

Neither because its not a applicable or possible situation.

Buuuuuuut i've been wrong before. I'd be happy for someone to prove me wrong, but my vote is its impossible.
